3.The role of Tau protein in Alzheimers disease: An update
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(10):-
Tau is a microtubule-associated protein th at can promote micortubulbe polymerization in vitro and can stabilize the asse mbled microtubules. Hyperphosphorylated form of tau comprises the main component of the paired helical filaments and neurofibrillary tangles found in Alzheimer s desease (AD). This paper reviews the functions and the prospects of tau in Al zheimers disease.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2015;(9):962-965
Objective Medical statistics is an important tool in scientific research and practice. The article was to evaluate the current knowledge, learning needs and related influencing factors of medical statistics among medical doctoral students to provide references for the optimization in the teaching mode of medical statistics. Methods A questionnaire was used to investigate Grade 2014 doctoral students who took medical statistics course before and after the teaching in a medical university. Results The knowl-edge of doctoral students were at different levels and they had different learning requirements.More than 81.4% of the respondents have difficulty in the choice of scientific and reasonable design and the scientific design.Over 50%students had insufficient knowledge of advanced statistics and poor software application ability. They had the demands for more practical cases explanation in theory course, more software teaching hours and some short term specialized courses. Conclusion The university and teachers should carry out teaching reform according to the particularity of doctoral students and teach in small sections according to their knowledge levels of sta-tistics and learning requirements. It is suggested that the teaching should be combined with the students'own research projects in order to improve the teaching effect and improve the students'ability in sta-tistical design and solving the practical problem in scientific research statistics.
5.Screening and identification of antioxidant endophytes from Lycium barbarum of Ningxia.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2015;40(20):3941-3944
In this paper, 29 endophytes were isolated from different organs and tissues of Lycium barbarum of Ningxia by tablet coating method, 18 of them was fungi, and 11 of them was actinomycetes. The endophytes quantity in the different tissues were leaves > flowers > roots >fruits; The hydroxyl radical scavenging activities of 11 endophytes were investigated by Fenton reaction, and total antioxidant capacities of them were examined by a. total antioxidant capacity test kit; culture features and strain-specific sequence analysis were employed to explore the diversity of the 11 endophytes. The result showed that 5 fungi and 6 actinomycetes that having antioxidant activity could be phylogenetically classified into 3 genera, 3 genera and 3 families, respectively. The total antioxidant capacity and hydroxyl radical scavenging activity of the 11 endophytes showed distinct difference. The antioxidant activity of Aspergillus were stronger, among which total antioxidant capacity of fL1 was (188.5 ± 0.549) U · mL⁻¹ and the IC₅₀ was 0.3 mg · L⁻¹; the IC₅₀ of strain fL1 was 0.42 mg · L⁻¹ and the total antioxidant capacity of fL9 was (113.63 ± 1.021) U · mL⁻¹, all of them were stronger than the positive control Vit C. The experimental results indicated that endophytic fungi of L. barbarum of Ningxia have a great developing and application prospect for the development of antioxidant agent.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2017;30(1):10-13
Objective Early clinical symptoms of esophageal cancer are often not obvious , so a deeper insight into tumor markers is very important for the early diagnosis of esophageal cancer .This study was to investigate the expressions of Rock 2 and Wnt11 in the specific esophageal cancer cell lines Eca-109 and HEEC and the relationship of the signal transduction pathway of proteins with the development of esophageal cancer . Methods Esophageal cancer cell lines Eca-109 and HEEC were cultured and the expression levels of Rock2 and Wnt11 in the cell lines were determined by real-time quantitative PCR and Western blot . Results The mRNA expressions of Rock2 and Wnt11 were significantly increased in the Eca-109 as compared with those in the HEEC cell line (4.955± 0.539 vs 1.000±0.000, P<0.01;2.925±0.230 vs 1.000±0.000, P<0.01), and so were the protein expressions of Rock 2 and Wnt11 (955.000±21.628 vs 778.844±102.193, P<0.05;2175.316±145.623 vs 1312.233±50.734, P<0.05). Conclusion The up-regula-ted expressions of Rock 2 and Wint11 may be the markers of the metastasis of esophageal squamous cancer .

8.Intestinal Absorption of Nicorandil in Rats
Herald of Medicine 2015;(11):1448-1450
Objective To explore the absorption properties and kinetics of nicorandil from small intestinal segments. Methods The absorption kinetics and permeability of nicorandil under different conditions were investigated by HPLC via the in situ perfusing method in rats. Results There was no significant difference in Ka of nicorandil under different concentrations and different pH.The absorption rate in rats descended in order of jejunum, duodenum, ileum and colon, as (4.69±0.05)×10-2 ,(3.35 ±0.04) × 10-2 ,(2.66± 0.05) × 10-2 and (0.89± 0.08) × 10-2 .h-1 . Conclusion The absorption of nicorandil in intestine complies with the passive transport mechanism and first order kinetics.Nicorandil is well absorbed in the whole intestine and can be prepared as delayed release and controlled release forms.

Objective To evaluate the effects of sevoflurane preconditioning and postconditioning on the activity of NF-κB during lung ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in rats. Methods Fifty-four adult male Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 300-350 g,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =18 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (S group),I/R group and sevoflurane preconditioning and postconditioning group (SPP group).Lung I/R was induced by clamping the left pulmonary hilum for 45 min followed by 120 min reperfusion in I/R and SP groups. The left pulmonary hilum was only isolated but not ligated in group S.In group SP,2.1% sevoflurane was inhaled for 30 min followed by 10 min washout, the left pulmonary hilum was then ligated for 45 min,and 2.1% sevoflurane was inhaled for 30 min again starting from onset of reperfusion.Six rats were chosen at 30,60 and 120 min of reperfusion and sacrificed in each group, lungs were removed for determination of wet/dry lung weight (W/D) ratio and content of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (by ELISA) and expression of nuclear transcription factor κB (NF-κB) p65 of nuclear protein (by Western blot) and for microscopic examination of the pathologic changes of lungs (with light microscope). Results Compared with S group,W/D ratio,TNF-α content and nuclear protein NF-κB p65 expression in lung tissues were significantly increased at each time point of reperfusion in I/R and SPP groups.Compared with I/R group,W/D ratio,TNF-α content and nuclear protein NF-κB p65 expression in lung tissues were significantly increased at each time point of reperfusion, and the pathological changes of lungs were attenuated in SPP group. Conclusion Sevoflurane preconditioning combined with postconditioning can reduce the lung I/R injury in rats through inhibiting NF-κB activity in lung tissues.
