Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
Chromosomally encoded toxin–antitoxin (TA) systems are thought to result in growth arrest and eventual cell death upon exposure to environmental stress in E. coli. In the chromosome of cyanobacteria Synechocystis sp. PCC6803, the genetic organization of a 360 bp open reading frame (ORF), slr0664, and another small ORF of 256 bp, ssr1114, is similar to that of TA system. The predicted protein encoded by slr0664 is homologous to RelE, but neither homologue of ssr1114 nor ssr1114-encoding protein was found in TA system. To see whether slr0664 encodes a toxin protein, ssr1114 encodes an antitoxin, an expressing plasmid containing promoter Plac and PBAD, was constructed. In this construct, Both slr0664 and ssr1114 were controlled by Plac and PBAD, respectively. Expression of slr0664 in Escherichia coli results in the inhi-bition of bacterial growth, the expression of ssr1114 neutralize the toxicity of slr0664 expression. These re-sults show that slr0664 is toxin gene and ssr1114 is antitoxin gene, both ssr1114 and slr0664 constitute achromosomal TA system in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803.

Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1992;0(08):-
400 cases of senile constipation were treated by Shenshen Bolus, a self-formulated remedy of Qi-benefitting, Yin-nourishing, blood-benefitting and blood-activating nature with a total effective rate of 98.0%. Experiments showed that as compared with Maren(Fructus Cannabis)Bolus, Shenshen Bolus not only possesses better cathartic action and lowers the tension of intestine in vitro. but also strengthens the function of the kidney. It reveals no side effects even in long-term administration.

Objective:To identify the expression of plasmid pLNCX-EGFP-C1-hri targeting the gene of Human ribonuclease inhibitor (hri) in PA317 cells which is capable of expression in mammalian cells. Methods: The vector of pLNCX-EGFP-C1-hri was transfected into PA317 cells by Lipofectamine 2000 and then the expression of recombinated plasmid was verified in living cells by observing the transcription level of egfp-hri fusion gene mRNA with RT-PCR method and the expression level of egfp-fusion hRI protein with western blotting method respectively. Results: Both RT-PCR and western blotting showed the egfp-hri fusion gene was obviously expression in PA317 cells. Conclusion: The plasmid of pLNCX-EGFP-C1-hri targeting hRI is successfully constructed and the protein of hRI can be expressed in PA317 cells correctly.

The quality of traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) has been mainly evaluated based on chemical ingredients, yet recently more attentions have been paid on biological ingredients, especially for pill-based preparations. It is a key approach to establish a fast, accurate and systematic method of biological ingredient analysis for realization of modernization, industrialization and internationalization of TCMs. The biological ingredient analysis of TCM preparations could be abstracted as the identification of multiple species from a biological mixture. The metagenomic approach based on high-throughput-sequencing (HTS) and big-data-mining has been considered as one of the most effective methods for multiple species analysis of a biological mixture, which would also be helpful for the analysis of biological ingredients in TCMs. Simultaneous identification of diverse species, including the prescribed species, adulterants, toxic species, protected species and even the biological impurities introduced through production process, could be achieved by selecting appropriate DNA biomarkers, as well as applying large-scale sequence comparison and data mining. By this approach, it is prospective to offer an evaluation basis for the effectiveness, safety and legality of TCM preparations.

Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2011;27(2):9-11
Objective To research in the effect of pertinent nursing method on therapeutic effect of postoperative intractable affective disorder. Methods We drew out all the patients who were in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria and accepted surgical treatment from June to September in 2008,and obtained 45 patients which were divided into the experimental group(21 participants) and the control group (24 participants) randomly. The experimental group adopted pertinent nmsing intervention in different periods, the control group accepted routine nursing measures. Two psychiatrists evaluated these patients' symptoms using the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS), Bech-Rafaelsen Mania Rating Scale (BRMS), and Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD). Results The difference of total efficiency between the two groups had no statistical significance at 1 week and 1 month after operation, yet, obvious statistical significance was seen on 3 and 6 months after operation. The total points of all scales had no statistical significance at 1 week and 1 month after operation; however, obvious statistical significance appeared on 3 month and 6 month after operation. The improvement of symptoms of the experimental group was better than the control group. Conclusions The nurs-i ng interventions used in this research could improve the therapeutic effect of the postoperative intractable affective disorder, and the effects were reflected mainly in the long term effectiveness.

International Eye Science 2014;(7):1250-1252
AlM: To compare the anterior segment measurements derived from optical low coherence reflectometer ( Lenstar LS900 ) and combined Scheimpflug - Placido disk topographer ( Sirius) .
METHODS: ln this study, we enrolled healthy myopic subjects 54 ( 87 eyes ) . The central corneal thickness (CCT), anterior chamber depth (ACD), flat keratometry ( FK) readings , steep keratometry ( SK ) readings and white to white ( WTW ) were measured by LS900 and Sirius. Evaluation and analysis were performed using paired t tests, the Pearson correlation, and Bland-Altman analyses.
RESULTS: The CCT and ACD measurements were significantly lower whereas FK, SK and WTW measurements were higher with LS900 (P<0. 001). Mean differences were -6. 11 ± 6. 32μm,-0. 09 ± 0. 07mm, 0. 18 ± 0. 25D, 0. 21 ± 0. 36D and 0. 25 ± 0. 39mm with statistical significant (P<0. 01). Pearson correlation analysis showed high correlation between the 2 devices for all measurements (P<0. 001). On Bland-Altman analysis, 95% limits of agreement for all measurements were 6. 26 to -18. 49μm; 0. 04 to 0. 22mm; 0. 68 to 0. 32D; 0. 92 to 0. 50D and 1. 00 to 0. 5mm.
CONCLUSlON: Anterior segment parameters evaluated with LS900 and Sirius systemare correlated well and achieve good agreement. However, there are significantly statistical differences which may be caused by the different measurement modes, so they may not be interchangeable use under certain clinical circumstances.

AIM:To study the effects of FK506 binding protein 12.6(FKBP12.6) overexpression on the performance of sarcoplasmic reticulum(SR) in ventricular myocytes of rats with heart failure.METHODS:The adenovirus(Ad)-mediated gene transfer was used to overexpress FKBP12.6 in ventricular myocytes of rats with heart failure.Western blotting and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) analysis were used to reveale specific overexpression of FKBP12.6.X-rhod-1-AM was used as the Ca2+ indicator, and cells were viewed under a confocal microscope.RESULTS:Adenovirus mediated overexpression of FKBP12.6 resulted in a 5-fold increase in relative FKBP12.6 mRNA levels and a 4-fold increase in relative FKBP12.6 protein levels at 48 h after transfection compared with control. The amplitude of the fluorescence [Ca2+]i transient was significantly increased in Ad-FKBP12.6-GFP cardiomyocytes compared with Ad-GFP myocytes(peak F/F0,3.16?0.42 vs 1.43?0.38,P
