1.A review of medical image compression techniques
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2008;31(2):77-81
As the increasing of digital imagilag modalities,a close-at-hand challenge to deal with is the storage and transmission requirement of enormous data of medical images.Compression is one of the indispensable techniques to solve this problem.A comprehensive review and discussions are made in this paper over the medial image compression techniques applied in medical image domain, including the latest achievements in this field.Different compression algorithm including ROI-based coding, lossless compression,DWT,neural net are introduced and some quality evaluation methods are introduced.Foreground of the field is given from our point of view.

3.Use of the ketogenic diet as treatment for refractory epilepsy and autism in the paediatric age
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2015;30(5):395-398
There has been great progress in seizure control with the development of antiepileptic drugs, but 30% of epileptic children are refractory to antiepileptic drugs. In order to control intractable epilepsy and improve neurodevelopment prognosis, the non-drug therapy such as surgery, vagus nerve stimulation and ketogenic diet (KD) can be taken.Despite its indisputable effectiveness, the functioning of the KD has not been explained. Now the antiepileptic mechanism and neuroprotective mechanisms are studied mainly. It is reported that KD is effective in variety of refractory epilepsy, and recent studies have shown that KD promising in the treatment of children with autism.Although KD is effective,it is worth further study that including its mechanism, recipe, clinical application, and so on.
4.Pay close attention to drug-induced lupus
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2008;6(5):458-62
Drug-induced lupus (DIL) is a lupus-like illness that has been recognized as a side effect of over 80 drugs since its first description in association with sulfadiazine in 1945. The epidemiology and clinical course of idiopathic systemic lupus erythematosus and DIL differ markedly, and prognosis is generally favorable in the latter although occasional life-threatening cases have been reported in the literature. Constant pharmacovigilance is crucial for prompt diagnosis and cessation of offending therapy, hence achieving the best outcome. This review discusses the clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of DIL so as to call for vigilance of medical workers.
5.Content Determination of Icariin in Fuchun Tablets with Reversed-phase High-efficiency Liquid Chromatography
Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(01):-
A simple, rapid and accurate method is described for the determination of icariin in Fuchun Tablets by reversed-phase high-efficiency liquid chromatography. The samples were first extracted with 70% alcohol for 50 minutes The resulting solutions were chromatographed on aYWG-C18 column.By using a mobile phase of methanoltetrahydrofuran-water (26.5:15.9:56.7) and a detection wavelength at 274 nm, the recovery for 101.02%, CV=2.4%,are obtained. The method can be employed for the quality control of Fuchun Tablets.

Tumor 2010;(2):148-151
Objective:To make a prospective study on the effectiveness and safety of toremifene (TOR) combined with novelbine/cisplatin (NP) in the treatment of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose first line platinum-based chemotherapy was failure. Methods:Forty-four patients with stage ⅡB-Ⅳ NSCLC, who failed in the first line cisplatin-based chemotherapy from January 2004 to February 2006, were enrolled in this study. All the patients received TOR combined with NP second line chemotherapy for two cycles. The response rate and adverse reaction were evaluated. The survival rate was analyzed. Results:The 44 patients received average 1.8 cycles of chemotherapy (1-3 cycles). The response of 37 patients could be evaluated including 21 patients who received NP regimen before and 16 patients who received platinum-based chemotherapy. After second line therapy, 4 of the 37 patients had partial response (PR), 19 had stable disease (SD), 14 had progressive disease (PD), and no patient had complete response (CR). The total response rate (CR+PR) was 10.8% (4/37). The disease-controlling rate (CR+PR+SD) was 62.2% (23/37). The response rate and disease-controlling rate of squamous cell lung cancer (SCC) were 27.3% (3/12) and 72.7% (8/12), which were significantly higher than adenocarcinoma [0% (0/18) and 44.4% (8/18), P<0.05]. The median survival time was 8.2 months, the median time for SD was 4.0 months (1.0-10.2 months), and the 1-year survival rate was 24.4%. The median survival time and 1-year survival rate of SCC patients had no significant difference compared with adenocarcinoma patients (9.2 vs 7.1 months; 33.3% vs 27.7%, P=0.72). There was no significant difference in survival rate between male and female patients. One patient stopped therapy for liver function injury (hyperbilirubinemia). The adverse reactions induced by chemotherapy mainly included gastrointestinal reaction, bone marrow suppression, and liver function injury. No serious adverse reaction occurred. Conclusion:The clinical efficacy of second line TOR combined with NP regimen is similar with the first line regimen for NSCLC patients, especially for SCC patients. The frequency of adverse reaction is not increased.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(16):1222-1224
OBJECTIVE:
To study the hearing characteristics in patient with posterior circulation transient ischemic attack (PCTIA).
METHOD:
Sixty-two patients diagnosed by neurologist were selected as experimental group for testing of pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions (OAE) and auditory brainstem response (ABR). Thirty healthy subjects were chosen as control group. The data were compared between the PCTIA groups and the control group using the SPSS 14.0 software.
RESULT:
(1) The difference in pure tone threshold across 125 to 8000 Hz between the PCTIA group and the control group was not statistically significant (P>0.05); (2) In PCTIA patients, the prevalence of TEOAE was only 42.7%, significantly different from the control group; (3) The patients had longer ABR latency and wave interval than the normal controls (P<0.01).
CONCLUSION
Brain-stem and cochlear damage can occur in patients with PCTIA. These results suggest that OAE and ABR be used as important diagnostic test for patients with PCTIA, and might be helpful in localizing abnormality in PCTIA.
