Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2009;0(21):-
OBJECTIVE To explore prevention and control measures and disinfection methods of intestinal virus hospital infection.METHODS Based on the prevention and control of hand-foot-and-mouth disease(2009),the measures on the administration of hospital infection and disinfection techniqul were taken, under the guidance of the center for disease control.RESULTS The effective prevention and control in intestinal virus stopped the spread and cross-infection.CONCLUSIONS Countermeasures of intestinal virus diseases caused by toxic encephalitis are effective following HFMD hospital infection prevention and control measures.

Objective To assess the efficacy of radical transurethral electrovaporization for invasive bladder cancer. Methods Thirty-six patients with invasive bladder cancer from february 2008 to February 2010 were treated by transurethral electrovaporization resection of bladder tumor (TURBT). The operation procedure was based upon the principle of radical transurethral resection for bladder tumor. The tumor was resected to fatty layer outside the bladder wall. After operation Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) irrigation of bladder was given, all patients were followed up for 3 to 24 months. Results The recurrence occurred in 12 cases in 2 years, with a recurrence rate of 33. 3% (12/36). These recurrence cases were treated with TURBT again. Six cases dead in 2 years, with a mortality of 16. 7% (6/36). Conclusion TURBT is suitable for those who are older or weak, and not medically fit for radical cystectomy or those who refuse the open surgery, which can prolong the survival time and improve the quality of life.

Objective To analyze X-ray plain film and CT signs of giant cell tumor of bone. Methods Imaging findings of giant cell tumor in 53 cases proved surgically and pathologically were retrospectively analyzed. Results 39 cases appeared as expensive cystic and eccentric destruction, osteolytic destruction 14 cases.Bone crests were usually seen in (39/53).Most of lesions did not have bone septations on CT image. The borders of destructive bone were clear and existed complete or incomplete sclerotic borders in 19 on CT image. The inner soft tissues of lesions were heterogeneous in most of the cases.Fluid-fluid level could be seen in 11 cases. The soft tissue masses outside the bone were demonstrated in the majority cases with discontinuous bone shell. Conclusion CT is more helpful than X-ray plain films in diagnosis of giant cell tumor of bone.

Objective Percutaneous puncture of gasserian ganglion was guided by CT scan to improve the accuracy and reduce complications and to compare the efficacy of chemical mutilation with ethyl alcohol and adriamycin. Methods Ninety-two patients with primary trigeminal neuralgia (39 males, 53 females) aged 37-84 yrs were divided into two groups : A ethyl alcohol group ( n = 47) and B adriamycin group ( n = 45) . Secondary trigeminal neuralgia was excluded by preoperative CT scan. Percutaneous puncture of oval foramen was guided by CT and correct location of needle tip was confirmed by injection of contrast medium. 100% ethyl alcohol 0.5ml (group A) or 2% adriamycin 0.5ml was injected. Results The patients were followed up for 12 months after treatment. Neuralgia disappeared in 31 out of 47 patients in group A (alcohol group) and in 36 out of 45 patients in group B (adriomycin group) . Treatment failed in 13 patients in group A and 6 patients in group B, and was partly effective in the other patients. There were no severe side effects or complications. Conclusion Percutaneous puncture of gasserian ganglion guided by CT is effective and reduces complications. Adriamycin is more effective than ethyl alcohol for chemical mutilation.

Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2010;29(5):493-495
Objective To investigate the effect of fluoride on expression of Runx2 mRNA and protein in bone tissue of rats. Methods Fourteen SD rats were randomly divided into two groups: control group(tap water with fluoride < 0.06 mg/L), and fluorosis group(fluoride 50 mg/L in water). After 4 moths, expressions of both mRNA and protein of Runx2 in rat bone tissue were determined by RT-PCR and Western blotting. Results The results showed that the expression of Runx2 mRNA and protein in fluoride-treated bone tissue were 2.287 ± 0.261 and 0.929 ± 0.229, respectively, both of which were significantly higher than those of control group(0.995 ± 0.123,0.317 ± 0.068, t = 11.85,6.78, P < 0.05). Conclusions Fluoride can increase the expression of Runx2 mRNA and protein in bone tissue of rats, and Runx2 may be involved in the pathogenesis of bone injury caused by fluoride.

Objective To investigate the effect of RBP on 3T3-L1 adipocyte differentiation, lipid metabolism and glucose transporter 4(GLUT-4)gene expression. Methods We constructed an expression vector for rat resistin gene and transfected it into 3T3-L1 adipocytes.RBP was added to the medium of 3T3-L1 adipocytes or resistin-overexpressing adipocytes on day 0 of differentiation.Cell differentiation and lipid accumulation were determined by oil red O staining. The mRNA expressions of differentiation marker genes(pref-1,C/EBP?,FAS)and GLUT-4 gene were evaluated by RT-PCR.Triglyceride(TG)and free fatty acids(FFAs)in adipocytes were measured by colorimetric kit.Results(1)When 10-12mol/L RBP was applied, the percent of living cells was high and the shape was unchanged.(2)RBP had no effect on the differentiation of normal adipocytes, but significantly decreased the number of lipid droplets in resistin-overexpressing adipocytes without affecting the lipid droplets-presenting day.(3)C/EBP? and FAS expressions in resistin-overexpressing adipocytes were down-regulated after RBP was applied, without changing their expressions in normal adipocytes.(4)RBP had no effect on the cellular TG and FFAs levels in normal cells, whereas it can significantly decrease the levels in resistin-overexpressing adipocytes.(5)There was no difference in the expression of GLUT-4 gene between 3T3-L1 adipocytes and RBP-applied cells.Conclusions(1)RBP has no effect on the cell differentiation and lipid metabolism in normal 3T3-L1 adipocytes.(2)RBP can inhibit the cell differentiation and lipid metabolism of resistin-overexpressing 3T3-L1 cells.(3)RBP has no effect on the expression of GLUT-4 gene.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2002;0(04):-
Objective To analyze diagnosis and management of traumatic atlantal fractures complicated with disruption of the transverse atlantal ligament. Methods Twenty-six patients with traumatic atlantal fractures complicated with disruption of the transverse atlantal ligament, 20 acute ones and six old ones, were managed in our department from March 1995 to March 2005. All the patients had the symptom of neck pain and a certain extent of neurological deficits. The radiographic examination showed that there were fractures in the anterior arch or/and lateral mass of the atlas and that the atlanto-dental interval (ADI) in these patients was 4 to 7 mm. Twenty-one cases were operated on with occipitocervical or atlantoaxial fusion immediately after injury. Five cases received conservative treatment. Results All were followed up for 15 (from 6 to 24) months on average. The 21 cases treated operatively reported relieved symptoms. Four of the five conservative treatments succeeded, but one of them underwent a successful atlantoaxial fusion because the original conservative treatment had failed. Conclusions The severity of clinical symptoms mostly depends on the degrees of atlantal displacement and cord compression. Diagnosis should be made on the basis of the ADI change as well as clinical presentations. For patients who have potential risk of atlantoaxial instability, occipitocervical or atlantoaxial, usion should be performed early.
