1.Treatment of hepatitis B
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(1):17-23
Vietnam is one of high prevalence HBV-infection country, with average rate of HBV-carriers was between 10% and 20%. If all people that had at least 1 of 3 markers (HBsAg, anti HBs, and anti HBc) were added in, prevalence of HBV infection was as high as 45-70%. The prevalence of acute hepatitis was between 37% and 49%, rate of cirrhotic HBV-positive patients was 47%-87%, and rate of liver cancer in HBV-positive patients was 57%-80%. HBV was concerned as a leading cause of primary hepatocellular carcinoma in human

2.Clinical and paraclinical characteristics and the sensitivity to antibiotic in septicemia patients with gram(-) bacteria
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(3):35-39
Study was carried out on 93 patients suffering from septicemia with gram(-) bacteria, who were treated in Central Military Hospital 108 from 1998 to 2003. All of them were taken blood samples for hemoculture. The results showed: the main clinical symptoms of septicemia with gram(-) bacteria are fever with sweats, liver and spleen palpable, rash, normal or low white blood cell count, anemia, and elevated levels of enzyme transaminase; main causes of septicemia gram negative are E.coli, Enterobacter, P. aeruginosa, Klebsiella, and Proteus. These pathogens E.coli, Enterobacter, P. aeruginosa still remain sensitive with cephalosporin III, ciprofloxacin, amikacine, and imipemem

3.Sequencing of Flic genes of Salmonella typhi, S. paratyphi A, S. paratyphi B, S. paratyphi C, and S. typhimurium and application for PCR to differentiate them
Journal of Preventive Medicine 2005;15(5):36-41
All Flic genes of Salmonella typhi, S. paratyphi A, S. paratyphi B, S. paratyphi C, and S. typhimurium code for phase 1 of H antigen (H:1) (d, a, b, c and i antigen respectively). The genes were sequenced on Sanger's principle by automatic sequenser (ABI, 3100 Avant, Genetic Analyser). The primer pairs for the Salmonella species were designed on the basis of the collected sequences. The results showed that PCR with these primers can clearly differentiate the five Salmonella strains, especially between S. paratyphi B and S. typhimurium.

4.Some changes of rheograph index in the patients with cerebro-vascular insufficient treated with artificial magnetic fields
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(7):29-62
Studying rheography of 32 patients with cerebrovascular insufficient treated by artificial magnetic fields at Central Military Hospital from June to December 2002. Results: treating by artificial magnetic fields gave significant improvements on the rheographic index such as reduce of time and normalization of /T ratio, increase of Ri index and cerebrovascular volume to normal levels; artificial magnetic fields also improved imagines of rheographic waves. These results demonstrated the improvements in regulation of vascular tonicity, and promoting blood flow at treated areas

5.The proportion of gallstone and some its risk factors in Thai Binh
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;517(8):62-65
A survey on the proportion of gallstone in 13,301 people who live in Thai Binh province. The incidence of common stone include gall-bladder stone, bile-duct stone and gall-bladder and bile-duct stone in which 1.9% in rural area and 3.4% in urban area. The proportion of gall-bladder stone in urban area is 3.16%, two times higher than its proportion in rural area: 1.42% (p< 0.001). Some risk factors of gallstone are elderly, male, low education, high body mass index and other jobs except farmers.

6.Paraclinical, clinical characteristics and treatment of scrub typhus at 108 Hospital (1998-2003)
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;474(3):61-64
In the Department of Communicable Diseases Hospital 108, 41 patients with srub typhus were diagnosed by Weil-Felix assay and dipsticks ELISA(+) were treated. Among them 22 by chloramphenicol 50mg/kg daily and 19 by doxycycline 200mg/daily in 7 days consecutively. Clinically, the common symptoms of the disease were prolonged fever (100%) in combining with head ache 100%, muscle pain 78.4%, erythema 34.7%. Doxycycline and chloramphenicol were the most efficient medicine.

7.Artificial magnetic field in treatment of cerebro-vascular insufficiency
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2004;0(9):27-30
51 patients with cerebro-vascular insufficiency were treated at 108 Military Hospital from June to December 2002. These patients were divided into 2 groups: 43 patients in group 1 were treated by alternating magnetic field; 8 patients in group 2 were treated by placebo. Alternating magnetic field with 45mT intensity had improved the symptoms of cerebro-vascular insufficiency such as: the relief of headache, vertigo, decrease in psychological and neuro-vegetative disorder, the decrease of stress making the sleep better and improving intellectuality. Results: 95.35% of patients in group 1 had more relief; 4.65% little relief, the moderate days of treatment were 14.484.79. A negative getting in the placebo group had demonstrated an objectiveness of the results. The intensity of magnetic field using in this study was suitable and almost without side effect during treatment

8.Application of digital subtraction angiography in diagnosis and treatment of severe recurent epistaxis
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2004;8(4):239-344
40 severe recurent epistaxis patients were monitored by digital subtraction angiography at Cho Ray hospital, from October 2001 to October 2003. The results: traumatic carotico-cavernous fistulas 3 cases; related carotid arteries 3 cases: carotid artery ligation; Internal maxillary aneurysms 13 cases: embolization; Related ethmoid artery 2 cases: ethmoid artery ligation. The bleeding sites have not been found clearly on DSA 19 cases: 5 cases in of them have no longer bleeding after DSA and pulled pack out. The DSA is a very important therapeutic application and sometime it was used as definitive treatment

Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;483(7):47-49
Assessment some plans, the harm factors for worker’s health as follows: micro - climate, compared to permissible standard, at all working places are over from 2.1 degree to 3.3 degree, the humidity of the air is in the limit, in general the speed of the wind is low and unhygienics. The physical factors: shinning is under the minimum level from 20-100 LUX, the concentration of dust is under the standard, noise is high. 900 workers (686 women) had been examined periodically. Results: The most common diseases as follows: odonto-maxial-facial disease (66,7%), ear-nose-throat disease (60.6%), gynecology disease (58.4%). In addition, muscle-bone-joint disease, ophthalmology disease, entero-gastrology disease, cardiovascular disease, resspiratory disease... are occupied significal rate (>20%).

10.Newborn neurological status in Hochiminh City
Ho Chi Minh city Medical Association 2004;0(3):131-134
At HungVương Hospital, 17-48 hours after birth, 58 newborn babies with fetal age of 39,5 weeks in average underwent a neurological examination. Results showed that in comparing with the original British cohort, Vietnamese newborns had got significantly lower scores in 10 out of 25 indicators, including almost relating to truncal tone. Among these studied subjects, the deficiency of long chains fatty acid was unsignificant, while this group of fatty acids was related strictly to the nerve, especially ophtalmic nerve. The relation between transketolase concentration with neurological status was not identified
