1.Remark on epidemiology and clinical complication of wisdom teeth
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2005;0(2):32-35
A prospective study was conducted on 120 patients (65 males and 55 females) with displaced wisdom tooth at the Dentistry and Stomatology Department of Hospital 103 between 9/2003 and 10/2004. Results: There was no difference between male and female. The surgery for extracting displaced wisdom tooth caused complications depending on ages 25-34 (51.16%), 15-24 (37.5%), 35-45 (8,33%). Patients need examination and treatment for pain (55.85%), swelling (11.66%), choking on food (29.16%) and the other causes (33.3%). Two kinds of displaced wisdom tooth that have high rates were: Mesio–angular wisdom tooth: (54.16%), vertical wisdom tooth, jaw-bone clamp (22.5%)

2.Treatment for displaced tooth due to trauma by duracryl and steel thread
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2005;0(3):10-14
The study evaluates 2 methods use duracryl combining with steel-thread and steel thread alone in conservative treatment for 24 teeth displaced by trauma. Following up 1 week, 2 weeks and 1 month showed that duracryl combing with steel thread provided good outcomes in 83.33%; moderate in 16.66%; nobody had bad result. Steel thread alone provided good outcome in 50%; moderate in 25%; and poor in 25%. Using duracrul combining with steel thread is efficient in fixation of teeth displaced by trauma at facilities with simple equipment. These two materials are available at all lower level medical units

3.Application of BT98 drug in treating gingivalis and periodontitis
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;298(5):25-28
112 patients with gingivitis and periodontosis were treated topically with BT 98 for 1 week to 2 months. For gingivitis in 81,94% of cases, there were good results, 12,50% moderate and 5,56% bad. For periodontosis 75% good, 15% moderate and 10% bad. The preparation is of low cost, safe and convenient

4.The structural characteristics of odonto-stomatology diseases of soldiers on some unit of hospital 103
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;298(5):33-36
From October 2002 to October 2003, in Military Hospital No103 and its sub-units, odonto-stomach morbidities were investigated. In 54,04% of subjects, there were dental caries; 1,52% dental stop lost, epiodontosis reached 95,40%, which progressed with age: in 15,80% of subjects, there were loss of tooth, in 3,26% tooth extract was needed and in 14,51% prothesis needed

5.To evaluate the results of bleaching teeth at home
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(4):36-38
From January to June 2000, 30 patients with discolored teeth were applied bleaching their teeth at home with Nuprogold 10-15%. The most common cause of discolored teeth was using tetracyclin, followed by flour and other factors. Results after bleaching mainly depend on the causes and level of staining. Home bleaching teeth treatment with Nuprogold (10-15%) is the best method for yellow and light brown teeth. External effects (sensitive, dull ache) mostly exist in all patients and decrease gradually after stop bleaching

6.Assessment the effectiveness to treat peridotis by the method of conservely treatment combination with the occluzan regulation
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;294(1):13-16
Conservely treatment and regulation occluzan on 35 patients with 116 teeth, these teeth haven occluzan trauma at Military hospital 103 from May 2001 to October 2003. The results showed that : The occluzan regulation by sharpen of early clink point make increase of quality in conservely treatment of periodontitis; Stabilized time is better tooth-shaking from degree II become degree I or normal

Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;294(1):55-58
Study on 31 patients with 82 chronic periodontotitis teeth, shaking from degree 1 to degree 3 were treated at Military Hospital 103 from June 2002 to June 2003. Those patients were randomly divided into 2 groups: 15 patients with 33 teeth in group 1 were treated no use composit periodontose splint; 16 patients with 49 teeth in group 2 were treated with use composit periodontose splint. Results: Use composit periodontose splint guarantee functional restore of odonto - Jaw, prevent bad - progress of this disease

8.Study on local treatment effect of Luong Dien Huong (Zanthoxylum Syzygium aromaticum) with inflamatgingival and periodontitis
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;296(3):10-14
Luong dien huong (Zanthoxylum Syzygium aromaticum) is discounted by fruit of Luong dien cham (Zanthoxylum) and bud of dinh huong (Syzygium aromaticum). Study on experimentation and clinical on 64 inflamatgingival and periodontitis patients from 20-60 years old treated in the Institute No103, from August 2002 to June 2003. Patients is divided into 2 groups: N1: 32 patients treated with LDH and N2: 32 patients treated with RK94 drug. The results showed that: Luong dien huong have clearly antiflammation effect as lessen inflamatgingival, increase on stable of tooth and lessen the deep of inflamatgingival. The results of treatment with inflamatgingival, periodontitis is: 68.75% good, 25% middle, 6.25% bad, similarly with RK94 drug (6.25% good, 28.1% middle and 6.25% bad)

9.To evaluate the effect of tooth-ointmently take by ultra method in treating inflamtgingival
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;296(3):20-23
Study on 70 patients with chronic inflamagingival at the age of 17-34 and 35-55. These patients have treatment with tooth-ointmently by ultra in the Institute No103, from October 2002 to October 2003. The results showed that: the cause of chronic inflamgingival was tooth-ointmently. In 2 studied groups, each patient have averagely 4 areas having tooth-ointmently, mainly inside of large molar tooth of lower jaw and outside of large molar tooth of upper jaw. The good results have achieved after one week and maintained after 3 months of treatment with tooth-ointmently by ultra combined with guiding dental hygiene. After 6 months, the good results have decreased highly. The patients need to take tooth-ointments again, to be guidlined and practised well dental hygiene

Journal of Medical Research 2008;56(4):87-91
Background: Dementia is a common pathological condition that affects older people. Most causes of dementia are Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia. Diagnosing these conditions mostly relied on clinical patterns, but some biomarkers have been mentioned as the indicators of this condition. Objectives: 1) To evaluate the alteration of some biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples from Alzheimer’s patients. 2) To compare the concentration of biomarkers in CSF samples from patients with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Subjects and method: Case group involved 41 patients who were diagnosed as AD and vascular dementia based on DSM-IV criteria. 31 matched healthy people were included in control group. All subjects were given neuro-psychological tests and thorough clinical examination. Brain CT scan and MRI were done for both groups. CSF samples were taken from patients in the study group to measure levels of some biomarkers. Results. The levels of total taurine (T-tau) and phosphorylated taurine (P-tau) 181 proteins are higher in the dementia group. The concentration of Abeta-42 is significantly different between case and control groups, but similar between vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease patients. Conclusion: Changes in biomarkers are valuable in different diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia. However, findings of CSF studies have to be considered with findings from imaging studies and clinical examination.
