Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;515(7):11-14
A prospective study was carried out on 17 patients with upper ureteral calculus treated by retroperitoneal laparoscopy in Viet Duc Hospital from Nov 2004 to Apr 2005. Results: The blood loss was usually not much (20-100 ml). It was difficult to remove calculi due to they moved up to kidney, it must enlarge the incision. There were two cases of peritoneum perforations during the operation that had been sutured. In postoperative period, patients were stable, there were no complications besides mild abdominal pain at the incision; 1 month after the operation, these patients well recovered. 2.Situation on retroperitoneal endoscopic surgery in the treatment of upper urethral gravel
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;0(6):11-13
Urinary lithiasis is a common disease in internal medicine and surgery. In period of 10 year (1982-1991), the number of patients came to Urinary Department of Viet Duc hospital for urinary lithiasis was 38%. There are 5 surgical treatment methods for urinary lithiasis: classical surgery, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy and recently is the retroperitoneal endoscopic surgery. There were urinary procedures had been performed by retroperitoneal endoscopy. In 1969, Bartel performed the first time the retroperitoneal endoscopic technique by mediastinum endoscopic machine. In 2003, Nguyen Van Hiep et al reported 36 patients who had upper urethral gravel were treated by retroperitoneal endoscopy; the successful rate was 32/36 cases, there were 4 cases had to be open operated, complication rate was low. The initial application of retroperitoneal endoscopic surgical technique in the treatment of upper urethral gravel achieved encouraged results, it also has prospect of being applied in other complicated urinary surgeries.

Bac Hoai Nguyen ; Quang Nguyen
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2005;0(12):31-35
Background: Premature ejaculation is one of the most common sexual dysfunction which affects the quality of life in both men and women. Objectives: To assess the effects of a topical anesthetic mixture in the treatment of Premature Ejaculation (PE). Subjects and method: Fifty-six men diagnosed as PE were guided to use a local anesthetic mixture of procaine-xylocain applied to glands on the penis before sexual activity (about 15 minutes prior), the course of treatment lasted 3 months. Results:There was a significant increase in the mean of intravaginal ejaculatory latency time (IEL n from 1.87 to 8.41 mins (p<0. OS) and satisfying scores of both overall sex life and sexual relationship with their partners. General results were divided into 4 degrees: good (30.2%) average (43.4%) no result (15.1%) and negative results (11.3%). Some side effects included retarded ejaculation or anejacualation (9.43%) decrease of glands penis and vagina sensitivity (28.3% and 9.43% respectively). Conclusion: While there is no effective therapy for PE, anesthetic creams might be effective for treatment of the disorder. \r\n', u'\r\n', u'

4.Assessment of the anesthesia effect of acupuncture, supported by low dose of anesthetic drug in goitre operation
Pharmaceutical Journal 2004;0(13):14-19
This study compared goitre surgery in 100 patients with anesthesia acupuncture with 55 patients with cervical plexus superficial anesthesia. The studied patients were between 30-50 year old with goitres classified from II to IV degree, in which III degree goitres were prevalent (67%). The acupuncture points GI4, PC6, TR17 and ST12 were applied. 92% of cases were assessed to attain the A level of anesthesia, the remains were the B level. The anesthesia acupuncture exhibited more effectively in small goitres than in big ones (the anesthesia A level was 100% of cases of II degree goitre operation, whereas was only 66.7% in anesthesia acupunture for IV degree goitre operation), independing on the nature of goitres. The anesthesia acupuncture induced an anesthetic outcome better than cervical plexus superficial anesthesia

6.Recovery of brain in hydrocephalus
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;519(9):20-22
A retrospective study on a case of pediatric patients with hydrocephalus due to meningitis was treated at Tay Duc Paediatric Hospital – Haiphong City. Results shows that: hydrocephalus is non-malignant except brain tumour. Symptoms in children under one year of age: head circumference is enlarged rapidly, fontanel’s and skull bones bulging, thin-haired, venae under head skin emerged clearly, eyes are turned downwards. Symptoms in older children and adults including headache, quick reduction of vision. To have better treatment results, it should be detected and operated early. For hydrocephalus caused by brain tumour, placement surgery of a abdominal-ventricular catheter should be done before operation to help reducing pressure for laparoscopic surgery, minimizing mortality rate and having recupation for better surgical condition later. If the tumour had bad prognosis not be operated, placement of a abdominal-ventricular.

10.Some remarks of Hydrosyringomyelie treatmean
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;0(12):13-15
On occasion of a hydrosyringomyelie accompanied with communicating hydrocephalus which was managed successfully and literature referred, the authors had some remarks about management of this disease. Some remarks of such as: the disease often appears in one region, most in cervical and upper thoracic of the spinal canal. It is the rare disease caused by many sources. It may be congenital approximately 50-70% of CHIARI I (Menezes) and 40-95% of CHIAR II (Naidich). It may be also secondary to spinal trauma, myelitis (virus, bacteria, tuber culosis bacillus...vv.) Signals and symptoms are poorly. The diagnosis is difficulty but no longer now because of applying MRI. Since this disease is accompanied with others malformations, the management have some differences, depending on the caused of the disease
