1.A new catalyst in the synthesis of fluroalkylether derivatives of artemisinine

Synthetic process fluoroalkylether from artemisinine carried out with 2 TF-DHA and DHA derivatives by etherification reaction with fluoroalkylalcohol in appropriate solvent and catalysis. In research process, author found a catalysis for synthetic reaction of 2 non-flo ethyls of DHA that is sulfuric acid. This catalysis is popular and inexpensive, can replace expensive catalysis in previous experimentations

2.Study on improvement of output of semi-synthesis of artemether.

Beta-Artemether (12beta-O-menthyldihyroartemisinin), a potent antimalarial drug has been synthetised from dihydroartemisinin using nonpolar waterimmiscible solvents and boron trifluorid etherate as a catalyst. Using this methods we always obtain a mixture of beta and alpha artemether with the ratio from 3/1 to 4/1 and the yield of beta-artemether is about 60%. Using polar waterimmiscible solvents in place of nonpolar waterimmiscible solvents in the synthesis can improve the ratio of beta/alpha artemether to 20/1 and the yield of beta-artemether increase to about 70% beta-artemether.

3.Study on manufacture of raw powder of injectable artesunate.

Artesunate has been produced and used in Vietnam since 1993, but up to 1998, we only produced and used artesunate for tabletting. Since 1998 a research program of injectable artesunate was launched by Ministry of Health. We have succeeded in the production of artesunate powder for injection in two steps: -Producing high quality artesunate powder for injection from the high quality artesunate.
