Korean Journal of Dermatology 2001;39(1):106-108
Benign pigmented lesions derived from dermal melanocytes include the Mongolian spot, the nevi of Ota and Ito, and the blue nevus. The nevus of Ito differs from the nevus of Ota by its location in the supraclavicular, scapular and deltoid regions. It occurs rarely in association with bilateral nevus of Ota. We present a 70 years old male, showing extensive involvement of dermal melanocytic nevi, so called bilateral nevus of Ota associated with bilateral nevus of Ito.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2013;51(4):280-283
Halo nevus is a pigmented nevus surrounded by acquired round depigmentation. Depigmentation appears mostly around several types of pigmented lesions, such as acquired nevus, congenital nevus, blue nevus and Spitz nevus. In contrast, it is rare that depigmentation develops around a congenital nevus. While the precise etiology of halo nevus and vitiligo remains uncertain, several theories suggest that both phenomena result from an immunologic reaction to melanocytes by CD8 + T cell. We report a case of halo congenital nevus in the arm, which is followed by periocular vitiligo. This is the third case in Korean dermatological literature.

3.Two Cases of Congenital Giant Melanocytic Nevus (CGMN) with Vitiligo.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 2003;41(6):805-808
Congenital giant melanocytic nevi (CGMN) are lesions of more than 20 cm in diameter, often in the distribution of a garment. Depigmented zones may appear around several types of acquired lesions such as dermal, junctional, and compound nevi, Spitz nevus, blue nevus, and malignant melanoma. The depigmentation may occur within the lesion, around it, or at a distant site. In contrast, congenital nevi rarely develop depigmentation. Vitiligo-like leukoderma distant from the nevus has developed in only three cases with a CGMN. We report two cases of CGMN with vitiligo which is located away from primary CGMN lesion.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2006;44(5):605-607
Deep penetrating nevus is a recently described variant of melanocytic nevi. It's clinical and histopathological features can be confused with malignant melanoma, blue nevus, Spitz nevus, pigmented spindle cell nevus, or congenital melanocytic nevus. Histopathologically, the lesions are characterized by loosely-organized nests of slightly to distinctively pleomorphic pigmented cells which deeply penetrate the reticular dermis and often extend into the subcutis. We report a case of deep penetrating nevus on the right arm of a 21-year-old female.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2013;51(1):57-60
Deep penetrating nevus (DPN) is a distinctive melanocytic nevus firstly reported by Seab et al. in 1989. It is characterized by its dark pigmentation, occurring mostly on the face, neck, or shoulder, and usually measures less than 1 cm in diameter. Since it has histologic similarities with other cutaneous pigmented lesions such as combined nevus, blue nevus, Spitz nevus, and pigmented spindle cell nevus, it is often difficult to diagnose and it may be clinically and histologically mistaken for a malignant melanoma. There have been 2 reported cases of DPN in the Korean dermatologic literatures; therefore, we report a case of DPN mimicking malignant melanoma.

A nevus with cyst is defined as a single lesion of a melanocytic nevus, and this is commonly associated with an epidermal cyst. For the previously reported cases of a nevus with cyst, most of the melanocytic nevi were of the intradermal or compound type. There have been rare reported cases of dysplastic nevus, blue nevus, Spitz nevus, congenital melanocytic nevus and so forth. We report here on a rare case of congenital melanocytic nevus combined with an epidermal cyst in a 21-year-old woman.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(3):364-372
This clinical and histopathological study was performed with 147 cases of benign mielanocytic tumors and 19 cases of malignant melanomas, which were obtained as surgical specimens from 1974 to 1984 at Department of Clinical Pathology, Catholic Medical College. The results were as follows: 1, In 89 cases of acquired benign melanocytic nevi, the average age of intradermal type(64 cases) was 34. 7 years and that of compound type(24 cases) was 24. 6 years. 2. In 30 cases of congenital nevus, nevus cells were present in the lower two thirds of reticular layer of the dermis in 93. 3% and in the subcutis as well in 3.3%. A case of giant congenital nevus with balloon cell appearance was found. 3. Of the 147 benign melanocytic tumors, a pigmented spindle cell nevus and a desmoplastic nevus were observed. 4. Blue nevi were 11 in number and excised from the face in 7, buttock in 2, shoulder in 1, upper arm in 1, and all were common type histopathologically. 5. Twelve malignant melanornas which were possible to be re-examined histopathologically were composed of 5 nodular type, 3 acral lentiginous type, 1 superficial spreading type and 3 metastatic malignant melanoma.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(8):1069-1073
Phakomatosis pigmentovascularis is a distinctive association of cutaneous hemangiomas and melanocytic nevi. The hemangiomas consist of extensive nevus flammeus, while the melanocytic lesions may be aberrant mongolian spots, nevus spilus, nevus of Ota, and nevus of Ito. Four types of the disorder have been recognized, each of which are subgrouped further by the abscence (type a) or presence(type b) of systemic organ involvement. We present a case of phakomatosis pigmentovascularis associated with Klippel-Trenaunay-(Parkes)-Weber sydrome, Sturge-Weber syndrome, nevi of Ota and Ito and perirenal lipomatosis in a 13-year-old girl. To the best of our knowledge, the coexistance of the perirenal lipomatosis in phakomatosis pigmentovascularis has not been reported.

Annals of Dermatology 2008;20(1):14-17
Spitz nevus is a variant of melanocytic nevus which is histopathologically defined as large spindle and/or epithelioid cells. Angiomatoid Spitz nevus is a rare histologic variant of desmoplastic Spitz nevus characterized by prominent vasculature. We present a case of angiomatoid Spitz nevus, celluar type, that has not been reported before. We provide another example to show the remarkable diversity of Spitz nevus.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 2000;38(12):1668-1669
Speckled lentiginous nevus(SLN) is characterized by a tan background patch on which more darkly pigmented macules and papules are randomly distributed. The presence of agminated Spitz nevi with SLN is well known, but a solitary Spitz nevus arising on a SLN is rare. We herein report a case of SLN with two Spitz nevi developed individually and congenital melanocytic nevus in a 9-year-old boy.
