5.Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society for 30 Years.
Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 2002;32(4):371-375
The end of this month is the 30th birthday of Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society. Since the first issue of Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society published in October, 1972, it has been developed in its quality as well as the quantity. More than 4000 articles have been published and tremendous contribution for the development of Korean Neurosurgical Society was made by the journal. The authors review the history of Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society including the problems in this situation and suggest the way to make the journal as an internationally famous one.

7.Historical review of operative microscope in the neurosurgery
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):14-15
Zacharias and Haus Janssen were the first manufacturers of the simple microscope, 1590. After that, Anton Von Leuwenhock was a German who created an inperfected glass with magnification of 270 times. Then, Carl Zeiss introduced the principle of the tri-dimentional telescope. By the 1960s, microscopes have been used rather widely in neurosurgery. Beginning from March, 1997, Dep of neurosurgery of Cho Ray hospital has applied the microscope in cerebral vascular diseases and brain tumors

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1995;24(12):1548-1553
Atretic cephalocele is a rare congenital cranial anomaly. We have experienced 3 cases of atretic cephalocele at the Department of Neurosurgery, Kyungpook University Hospital between 1990 and 1993. Clinical features, operative considerations, and outcome are discussed.

9.Statistical Analysis of the Postoperative Mortality.
Sa Chung CHANG ; Kyu Sub CHUNG ; Suk Hi LEE
Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1976;9(1):107-111
We experienced 4,945 cases of surgical operation at the Busan National University Hospital from Jan. 1966 to Dec. 1970. The cases that expired within the first 24 hours pastoperatively, were recorded as the postoperative death in this analysis. Thus, postoperative deaths were 126 cases, comprising 2,6 per cent of all the surgical operation. Emergency operation was 119 cases and neurosurgery was 90 cases among 126 cases, Above results imply that more careful attention and efforts to every emergency and neurosurgical case were needed.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1987;16(2):453-458
The basic requirements for photomicrography of neurosurgery include the following : 1) proper microscope and accessories. 2) good knowledge about the surgical microscope and photographic instrument. 3) proper exposure. 4) sharp focus with adequate depth of field. 5) removal of factors which could cause a bad result. We will discuss about the set up of surgical microscope including photographic instruments and photographic technique.
