It is estimated that there were 36,024 new cancer cases in male and 32,786 cases in females had been diagnosed in the country in this year. The cancers of lung, stomach and liver are the most common cancers in male. The cancers of breast, cervical uterus and stomach are the most common cancers in female. The cancer pattern in the country, though, is not homogeneously distributed. It is likely that the cancers of liver and cervix uteri are more common in the South than in the North while cancer of stomach and nasopharynx is more common in the North than in the South.

Background: In Vietnam the juxta-articular soft tissue diseasesare very popular, but they have not been studied yet. Objectives: (1) Describe clinical feature of some juxta-articular soft tissue diseases (tendinopathy) (except periarthritis of the shoulder). (2) Determine the risk factors of these diseases. Subjects and method:118 patients with juxta-articular soft tissue diseases. Diagnosed following the standard criteria and treated in Rheumatology Department Bach Mai hospital (Hanoi - Vietnam) in the period from December 2005 to August 2006 There was a prospective descriptive method of study.Results:(1) Clinical feature of some juxta-articular soft tissue diseases: average age: 50.2 \xb1 10.4 years, female/male ration: 4:1, the most frequent clinical forms: Tendinosis of the Elbow (Tennis Elbow) (25.4%), de Quervain\u2019s tenosynovitis (22.9%), trigger finger (17.8%), Pes Anserine Bursitis (23.7%). Clinical symtoms: pain intensity: average VAS score: 5,8 \xb1 1,3 mild and moderate limitation of movement, inflammatory signs were not evident: Mild swelling (55%), redness, increase of local temperature (4-5%), pain character: Tendinosis of the Elbow and Pes Anserine Bursitis: permanent mild pain (73.6% and 68%), de Quervain\u2019s tenosynovitis and trigger finger: pain with irrdiation along the tendon (100%). (2)The risk factors ofthese diseases: manual and repetitive work, care of children (74%), middle age (73%), female (80,5%), osteoarthritis (21.2%), diabetes associated with trigger finger (19%).Conclusion: (1) The juxta-articular soft tissue diseases were seen at middle age, with feminine preponderance, moderate pain, not evident inflammation. Clinical forms: the prevalence of each group odd diseases (Tendinosis of the Elbow, de Quervain\u2019s tenosynovitis, trigger finger, Pes Anserine Bursitis) are quite eqiuvalent. (2) The risk factors of these diseases: manual and repetitive work, care of children, middle age, female, osteoarthritis, diabetes.

189 cases of intracranial meningioma were surveyed retrospectively concerning CT-scanning, biopsy and, in majority of cases, surgery. Results shown a female/male ratio of 2.4/1 (134 vs. 55), mean age ranged from 50 to 60, the elder than 50 made up 76%. The related factors are gender, hormone level, traumata, microorganisms, and receptors. Clinical symptoms depend on the size and the site of the tumor. The interview was conducted with 1.500 households in Bac Giang city and a control group of 1.500 households in Tan Yen rural district. Secondary date were analysed. Matching the incidence of cancers and some factors of enviromental pollution in Bac Giang city territory, showed that the smokers had got a risk of cancer 1.56 folds higher than not smoking subjects, alcohol abuse subjects had got a risk of cancer 1.89 folds higher than who did not use alcohol. The subjects exposed to noxious chemicals had got a risk of cancer 1.06 folds higher than who did not. The subjects living in polluted enviroment had got the risk of cancer 1.06 folds higher than who did not.

Research at Tu du hospital from 1998 to 2004 on 212 ovarian tumors with 48 ovarian cancers, from 16 to 82 years of age. Anapathology result: epithelial tumors (72,91%) are the most common with serious and mucinous cystadenocarcinomas; germ cell tumors (18,75%) had the second rank composed mainly of mixed germ cell tumors, endodermal sinus tumors and immature teratomas. 3 cases of genital stromatic tumor include all granuloma One case of krukenberg tumors. During the period 1998 to 2000, 50% of ovarian cancers are detected at an early stage I and II. This proportion has increased to 58% in the period from 2002 to 2004

At Hanoi K Hospital from 1992 to 1996 years 149 sets of patho histological samples from patients with basal cell carcinoma were studied. The study showed that this cancer was developed usually in elderly subjects of average 61,8 years old of age and with male/female ratio 1,04. The carcinoma appeared mainly at the face-neck area (98,6%) especially in skin area of nose, cheek and eye (83,2%), a high portion (36,9%) of patients was hospitalized early, but the late portion was considerable – 12,1%. A rate of 16,8% appeared within 60%, especially the large size cancers – 38,9% for the size > 5cm. The recurrent cancer of < 2 cm in size developed only within 2 first years- some larger size cancer could be appeared late, after 3-4 years
