To observe the expressions of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) in rats with pulmonary fibrosis (PF) induced by bleomycin, and to explore the mechanisms of Shenlong Decoction in preventing and treating PF.

MicroRNA-375 (miR-375) is closely related to the development of cancer,such as liver cancer,gastric cancer,pancreatic cancer,endometrial cancer,esophageal cancer,non-small cell lung cancer,etc.The mainly tumor pathogenesis related miR-375 includes that miR-375 is combined with specific target genes,can degrade mRNA or inhibit protein translation in the transcriptional level,and plays antitumor effect of inhibition of cell proliferation,promoting cell apoptosis and inhibiting the invasion and metastasis.miR-375 is expected to be a new target for cancer therapy,which may become an important biomarker for the diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of cancer.

Objective Performing a daily quality assure (QA) program to get variation and error range of on board imager (OBI) system,so that the OBI system can meet the needs of clinical treatment.Methods The daily QA program including: mechanical accuracy,2D/2D Shift calculations accuracy,couch motion accuracy.Results The max deviation was-0.7 mm in lcft-right (LR) dircction and 0.8 mm in superior-inferior (S1) direction in Linac& OBI isocenter accuracy check.The max deviations in 4 blades (x1,x2,y2,y1) position accuracy check were:-2.1 mm,2.2 mm,± 1.7 mm,-2.1 mm.In OBI mechanical arms position accuracy check,31％ standard data was 85.2 cm with 0 mm deviation; 69％ standard data was 85.1 cm with 1 mm deviation.In LR,SI and anterior-posterior direction,2D/2D shift calculations accuracy was 0.46 mm,1.35 mm,-0.04 mm and couch motion accuracy was-0.1 mm,0.3 mm,0.2 mm,respectively.Conclusions By performing the daily QA program,it could be found whether OBI works properly and satisfies the clinical use.The physicist can pay more attention to the parameters which change frequently,and adjust the frequency of the parameters which are stable,so that working efficiently.

Objective To investigate prevalence of erectile dysfunction(ED)in type 2 diabetic male patients and to analyze its related factors.Methods A total of 904 married male patients with type 2 diabetes were involved in this study and they were interviewed with anonymous questionnaire.An international index of erectile function-5(IIEF-5)was used to determine the severity of ED by self-rating score in age,duration of diabetes,serum level of glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),history of alcohol drinking and smoking,blood pressure and anti-hypertensive medication in diabetic ED patients.Relationship between relevant factors and diabetic ED was analyzed.Results ED was diagnosed in 612 diabetics with prevalence of 67.7 percent(612/904)according to their total scores of IIEF-5.Logistic regression analysis showed that increase in duration of diabetes by five years,age by 10 years,serum level of HbAI c by 2%, systolic blood pressure by 30 mm Hg(1 mm Hg = 0.133 kPa),positive history of smoking and alcohol drinking were all independently associated with prevalence of diabetic ED,with OR of 1.96,1.25,2.32, 1.12,1.67(P

Objective To investigate the effect of leptin (LEP) pretreatment on hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R) induced apoptusis in human L02 liver cells. Methods Human L02 liver cells were obtained from pharmacology laboratory, Zhong-Shan University and cultured in DMEM liquid culture medium in an incubator filled with 5% CO_2 at 37℃. The cells were divided into 6 groups ( n = 6 each) : group control (group C) ; grouphypoxia-reoxygenation (group H/R); group Ⅰ-Ⅳ pretreatment with LEP 100, 200, 400 and 800 μg/L + H/R. In group H/R and group Ⅰ-Ⅳ L02 cells were exposed to 95% N_2-5% CO_2 for 12 h followed by 12 h reoxygenation. In group Ⅰ-Ⅳ the cells were pretreated with LEP 100, 200, 400, 800 μg/L respectively before H/R. At the end of 12 h of reoxygenation, the cells were centrifuged and the supematant was collected for determination of ALT and AST concentrations. Apoptosis in L02 cells was detected by Hoechst 33342/PI staining. Fluorescent quantitative PCR was used to detect Bax and Bcl-2 mRNA expression. Results (1) ALT and AST concentrations were significantly increased after H/R. The increase in ALT and AST concentrations was ameliorated by pretreatment with LEP. (2) The H/R-induced apoptotic changes of the cells were attenuated by pretreatment with LEP. (3) The Bax mRNA and Bcl-2 mRNA expression was significantly increased in group H/R as compared with group C. Leptin pretreatmcnt significantly reduced Bax mRNA expression and increased Bcl-2 mRNA expression as compared with group H/R. Conclusion LEP pretreatment can decrease H/R-indtwed apoptosis in the L02 liver cells by down-regulation of Bax mRNA expression and up-regulation of Bcl-2 mRNA expression.

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of transcatheter super-selective hepatic artery embolization (TAE) in treating symptomatic polycystic liver disease (PLD). Methods A total of 8 patients with PLD, who were admitted to authors’ hospital during the period from 2009 to 2013 to receive TAE, were enrolled in this study. The patients included 6 females and 2 males with a mean age of 59.5 years (54-65 years). The used embolic agents were polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) microspheres and micro spring coils. Both plain and contrast-enhanced CT scans of the upper abdomen were performed before TAE as well as at 12 months after TAE; the total volume of the hepatic cysts was measured and the changes of the cystic volume were determined. Statistical analysis was conducted using paired t test. Results The technical success rate was 100%. After TAE, the patients developed fever and different degrees of discomfort at liver area, which were disappeared after active symptomatic medication, and no serious complications occurred. The patients were followed up for 12 months , the mean total volume of the intrahepatic cysts decreased from preoperative (5 794±2 066) cm3 (range 3 120-8 935 cm3) to postoperative (3 832±1 525) cm3 (range 2 019-5 925 cm3), the difference was statistically significant (t=6.971, P<0.001). The reduction ratio of total volume of intrahepatic cysts was 34.6%±11.3%(24.3%-60.4%). Conclusion For symptomatic polycystic liver disease, transcatheter super-selective hepatic arterial embolization is a newly-developed treatment. This technique is safe and effective with reliable response and fewer complications. Therefore, it should be recommended in clinical practice.

Objective To investigate the ultrasonographic and pathological changes of peripheral pulmonary lesions in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) complicated with Penicillium marneffei pneumonia (PMP) and their clinical significance.Methods The ultrasonographic and pathological data of peripheral pulmonary lesions in 31 cases of AIDS complicated with PMP who were diagnosed in Fourth People's Hospital of Nanning were retrospectively reviewed.Results Among 31 cases of PMP,20 cases (64.5％) showed star-like diffuse sonogram,7 cases (22.6％) low solid echo and 4 cases (12.9 ％) black hole-like sonogram in ultrasonographic changes of peripheral pulmonary lesions.In pathological examination,Penicillium marneffei were seen in all samples:periodic acid-Schiff stain (PAS) and periodic acid-Schiff diastase stain (PAS-D) were all positive.Twenty four cases (77.4％) mainly showed infiltration of inflammatory cells,and 7 cases (22.6 ％) mainly showed necrosis and fibrous hyperplasia.Among 20 patients with star like diffuse sonogram,19 were mainly infiltration of inflammatory cells in pathological changes,and 19 were CD4+ T lymphocyte counts of 100-200/μL.Among 4 patients with black hole-like sonogram,all were necrosis in the central and hyperplasia in the peripheral in pathological changes,and CD4-T lymohocyte counts were all＜50/μL.Conclusions In AIDS patients complicated with PMP,ultrasonographic features were probably correlated with pathological changes in biopsy tissues and CD4-T lymphocyte counts.

Objective To investigate dosimetric advantage of fixed field intensity-modulated radiotherapy (FF-IMRT),volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and helical tomotherapy (HT) for cervix uteri cancer.Methods CT datasets of ten patients with cervix uteri cancer were enrolled in the study.FF-IMRT,VMAT and HT plans were designed on Eclipse and HT treatment planning system.Plans were optimized with the aim to assess OAR while enforcing highly conformal target coverage.Institutional dose-volume constraints used in cervix uteri cancer were kept the same for three techniques.The different of three plan was play by single factor analysis of variance and compared to two groups by LSD method.Results All FF-IMRT,VMAT and HT resulted in equivalent target coverage but HT had an improved homogeneity index (P =0.000) and conformity index (P =0.000),or PTV of 105％ prescription dose (47.12％,45.83％ and 0.05％,P=0.000) and lowest Dmax dose (54.53 Gy,53.65 Gy,52.69 Gy,P=0.000).Compared with FF-IMRT and VMAT,the bladder V40 and Dmax of HT were lowest (50.01％,46.84％,42.98％,P=0.001 and 54.49 Gy,52.96 Gy,52.78 Gy,P=0.000),with the rectum V40 lowest (54.61％,48.34％,46.78％,P =0.006),the intestine Dmax lowest (54.53 Gy,53.65 Gy,52.66 Gy,P =0.000) and marrow Dmax lowest (54.51 Gy,54.44 Gy,52.13 Gy,P=0.000).But the delivery MU per fraction were highest (1429.20 MU,617.80 MU,7002.04 MU,P =0.000).Conclusions HT technology is feasible for clinical applications in cervical uteri cancer and can be used as a new method to promote.

This research was conducted to explore the characteristics of encephalofluctuographs in 10 execellent toxophily athletes aged 17 to 28 years by comparison with those in 30 undergraduates as controls. The data were collected through EEG- Encephalofluctuograph technology(ET) under quiet and eye-closed conditions of the subjects. The results showed that the multiple indices of S-spectrum of ET possessed the following characteristics the toxophily athletes' frequency of S2, S3/S4, S5, S11 and S13 increased, while their frequency of S1, S6 and 57 decreased. The EEG - Encephalofluctuographic Characteristics were different; moreover, the left brain was in the ascendent notably. In terms of the intrinsic relation between S spectrums and neurotransmitter, it was noted that when compared with the controls, the toxophily athletes had better memories, stronger self-control and adaptability, and they could concentrate greater attention on an object.

Objective To investigate whether the accelerator image beam line (IBL) full scan and extend field of view(EFOV) scan mode megavoltage cone beam CT(MV CBCT) images can be used for dose calculation in adaptive radiotherapy.Methods The large aperture CT and MV CBCT were used to scan the CIRS 062M electron density modules,the CT value was established to electron density curves in the Pinnacle treatment planning system.Also,CT and MV CBCT were used to scan the head and neck,chest,abdomen and pelvis phantom.The intensity modulated radiotherapy(IMRT) plans were made with CT images and transplanted to MV CBCT images.The dose of targets and organs with their electron density curves was calculated,and two type IMRT plans with different CT images were compared.Results The dose distribution of head and neck phantom was acceptable,compared with the reference plan,the difference was within 3 ％.The dose distribution of chest and.pelvis was significantly reduced from reference plans,and the difference was 5％ and 10％ separately.This difference was beyond the scope of clinical acceptance.Conclusions MV CBCT images of accelerator IBL full scan mode in patients with head and neck site scan could be used for dose calculation in adaptive radiotherapy,chest and pelvic sites in EFOV mode scanning MV CBCT images could only be used for image guidance.
