Retinal angiomatous proliferation(RAP) is a special type of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with a pathological process of neovascularization.Different with several types of neovascular AMD,the new blood vessel in RAP is believed to originate from the inner retinal circulation.Because of inadequate knowledge,there still exist some limited understanding for this disease,such as its clinical diagnosis,therapy effectiveness and its poor prognosis.The newest interpretation about RAP was based on the findings of indocyanine green angiography(ICGA) and the first generation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging system.The stage,histogenesis,histopathology,nature process,fundus findings,differentiating diagnosis and treatrnent of RAP were reviewed.

In this experiment, the crude Fructus Crataegi, its baked product, the products baked to dark brown and baked to charcoal were compared regarding the gastrointestinal promote function of rat, the content of free acids in stomach, total acids, pepsin and nitrite as indices. As a result, the crude and the fried product possessed greater effects on the digestive ability of rats, but their nitrite content was lower. It was preliminary suggested that adding the crude and the fried product into digestant be an optimum selection

Objective: To study and discuss the experience veteran TCM doctor KONG Si-bo in treating optical disease. Methods: To analyze the academic thoughts of KONG Si-Bo from four aspects: theory, method, formula and herbs. Results: According to differentiation of syndrome, KONG Si-bo emphasized on the entirety and treating according to three categories of disease causes. He thought that on the base of traditional eight principle differentiation, yin and yang played a more important role in differentiation. In treatment aspect, he prefered to eliminating stagnation, especially eliminating liver stagnation. As for herbs, he liked using Shigao to clear heat, and had lots of gains from learning about herbs of expelling wind, regulating qi, dissipating stasis, invigoration. Conclusions: The experience of expert KONG Si-bo in treating optical disease deserved researching and learning by other doctors.

The recombinant protein drug usually has a short half-life after intravenous (IV) or subcutaneous (SC) administration. The methods of prolonging the half-life of recombinant protein drug in common use are mainly based on three principles: 1 Amplifying the molecule weight of protein drug; 2 Making use of drug balance in the blood; 3 Reducing Immunogenicity. Three methods were focused on: Analog construction, PEGylation and Albumin fusion technology. The characteristics, half-life and immunogenicity problem of their products in the market and under development are summarized.

Objective To observe Effect of baicalin on BV2 cell activation damage caused by rotenone.Methods Rotenone infected BV2 cell viability were detected by MTT assay, and OX42 expression by ICC method assay, the inner cell Ca2 + content by fluorescence spectrophotometry, intracellular iron content by ICP-AES when low concentrations iron of load without damage in cells and extracellular H2 O2 and intracellular content of MDA, NO, NOS with related kits.ResuIts Rotenone exposure BV2 cell reduced cell viability, the expression of cell marker protein OX42 and intracellular Ca2 +content and intracellular iron content were all significantly increased(P<0.05), resulting in oxidative damage to cells.Baicalin reduced OX42 expression of rotenone exposure BV2 cell, increased cells survival, reduced intracellular iron content and H2 O2 release and oxidative damage of BV2(P<0.05).ConcIusion Baicalin inhibits BV2 activation and damage by rotenone-induced, and it has neuroprotective effects.The protection mechanism may relate to reduce iron into cells .

Objective To establish double-transfected Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) [Ⅱ cells expressing human organic anion transporting polypeptide 1B1 (hOATP1B1) and multidrug resistanceassociated protein 2 (hMRP2)and to testify their functions,moreover,to study the transcellur transport of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) inhibitor 1-methyltryptophan (1-MT) in the transfectants.Methods hOATP1B1/hMRP2 eukaryotic vectors pVITRO2-SLCO1B1-ABCC2 was obtained by genetic engineering method and then transfected into MDCK cells.Stably expressed MDCK cells were screened by using the geneticin G418.Real-time PCR,Western blot analysis and immuno fluorescent confocal microscopy were used to verify the proteins expression.Transport of the representative substrate pravastatin in different pH values and substrate concentrations and 1-MT were evaluated using the double transfectants.Results MDCK-OATP1B1/MRP2 was successfully established.Pravastatin displayed the optimal transcellular transport when pH value was 6.5.Transport of pravastatin demonstrated the concentration-dependent in the concertation range of 0) to 500 μmol/L.Transport of 1-MT showed no significant difference in MDCK cells and transfectants.Conclusions MDCK-OATP1B1/MRP2 was successful established;1-MT was not the substrate of OATP1B1 or MRP2 protein;and the eatablished double transfectant cell lines can be used to evaluate OATP1B1/MRP2-medicated transport of xenobiotics (e.g.new drug candidates) and endogenous compounds (e.g.bilirubin).

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of proapoptotic genes HtraA2 in acute myeloid leukemia.Methods 78 cases of AML patients were divided into newly diagnosed AML group,complete remission group and hard flag group,and another 25 cases treated at the same period were set as the control group.The boue marrow and peripheral blood samples were collected from all the groups for total RNA extraction and detection of expressed HtrA2.The HtrA2 expressions were compared among thc groups.Finally 17 patients were followed up for 1～56 months.Results The HtrA2 expression levels of 3 groups were significantly different (x2 =35.13,P ＜ 0.05),with the ratio of maximum to minimum values up to 68.76.There were no statistically significant differences in the relative expression of gcnes HtrA2 among the FAB type (F =0.004,P ＞ 0.05).HtrA2 gene expression after treatment was significantly higher than before treatment in the patients followed up (P ＞ 0.05).HtrA2 gene might affect the survival time of patients (Wald =4.979,P ＜ 0.05),but age and gender had no influence on survival states (Wald =2.426 and 0.833,P ＞ 0.05).Survival curve analysis showed that the median smvival time was 34.50 months in the patients followed up.Conclusion The expression level of HtrA2 can be beneficial for the diagnosis,treatment and prognostic evaluation of AML.

Objective:To investigate serum nitric oxide(NO) and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) in the process of recurrent aphthous ulcer(RAU).Methods:Serum NO and NOS were measured with specific kits in 243 patients with RAU and 50 healthy controls.Results:Serum NO (?mol/L) in the heathy controls,the patient at stages of attack,healing and intermission was 73.15?12.30,118.50?18.95,82.11?10.00 and 81.26?12.15;NOS(?mol/L) 35.23?6.57,44.77?5.95,37.10?5.05 and 36.12?7.40,respectively.Conclussion:NO and NOS may play role in the development of RAU.

Objective To investigate the effects of Hui-hui Gan-song Yin(HGY) on the accumulation of extracellular matrix of rat glomerular mesangial cells(MCs) induced by high glucose.Methods The 40 SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group(distilled water), glurenorm group(10 mg/kg), HGY high-dose group(10 g/kg) and HGY low-dose group(5 g/kg), 10 rats in each group.The rats in each group were treated with corresponding drugs, twice a day.After 3 days, the serum containing each drug were prepared to culture rat MCs in vitro.The MCs were divided into the normal control group( 10% serum of rats in normal control group ) , high glucose group ( 30 mmol/L glucose +10% serum of rats in normal control group), glurenorm group(30 mmol/L glucose+10% serum of rats in glurenorm group), HGY high-dose group(30 mmol/L glucose+10% serum of rats in HGY high-dose group) and HGY low-dose group(30 mmol/L glucose+10% serum of rats in HGY low-dose group).The fibronectin(FN), ColⅠand ColⅣ levels were detected by Western blot.Results Compared with normal control group, the expression of FN, ColⅠand ColⅣ in high glucose group increased(P<0.01).The HCY suppressed the protein expression of FN, ColⅠand ColⅣ significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion The serum containing HGY could suppressed protein expression of FN , ColⅠand ColⅣ and inhibit the accumulation of extracellular matrix of MCs induced by high glucose, which could protect glomerulus and delay the development of diabetic nephropathy.
