Keratosis lichenoides chronica is rare chronic dermatosis characterized by progressive development of licheniod papulonodules especially on the extremities and trunk. A 15-year-old male patient had erythematous to violaceous scaly patches and plaques on the left side of trunk and lower extremity along Blaschko's lines. Clinical and histologic findings were compatible with keratosis lichenoides chronica showing unilateral distribution.

BACKGROUND: Excessive sweating, especially of the palms, soles and axillae, is a socially and an occupationally distressing, and sometimes disabling condition. A variety of treatment methods are used to reduce profuse sweating including topical agents, iontophoresis and symphatectomy. OBJECTIVE: We investigated whether a 20% aluminum chloride solution is efficient in the treatment of axillary and palmoplantar hyperhidrosis using a skin surface hydrometer. METHODS: We treated 31 patients (7; male, 24; female) by Drysol once a day at bedtime for four weeks. We had measured the conductances on the stratum corneum of the palms, soles and axillae using a skin surface hydrometer before and after treatment every week for four week RESULTS: There was a reduction of conductances after the treatment by Drysol (p<0.05). The reduction of conductances was continued for four weeks (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: Drysol is an efficient, safe, and simple method for initial treatment of the primary hyperhidrosis.

We have experienced an unusual case of hemorrhagic renal cyst in the rt. kidney at 58 years old woman. The Rt. kidney was enlarged, and showed a few subcapsular ischemic areas The color of kidney was dark brown. As the cyst at lower pole of rt. kidney was dissected, hemorrhagic fluid visualized in the cystic cavity. The final pathologic finding was renal cyst associated with malignant change and renal cell carcinoma at another renal parenchyma. Herein, hemorrhagic renal cyst, a rare clinical entity, was reported with review of literatures.

We report a case of type III hyperlipoproteinemia associated with xanthoma eruptivum. Xanthoma tuberosum, and xanthoma striatum palmare whose clinical symptoms have been improved by the treatment of gemfibrozil. A 31-year-old male patient visited our clinic for evaluation of multiple yellowish nodules on the elbows, multiple yellowish plaques on the buttocks and linear yellowish plaques along with the palmar creases on both palms. The blood chemistry showed an elevation of cholesterol and triglyceride. Lipoprotein electrophoresis showed broad betazone and plasma standing test showed turbid plasma. Lipoprotein ultracentrifugation showed that the ratio of VLDL cholesterol and plasma triglyceride was 0.38. According to the above findings, we diagnosed this patient as type III hyperlipoproteinemia. After 4 months of treatment with diet and gemfibrozil, the serum level of cholesterol and triglyceride were reduced to normal range. The skin lesions of both palms showed marked improvement but the skin lesions on elbows and buttocks were not much improved.

PURPOSE: This study investigates the level of nursing professionalism and factors that affect nurse perceptions. METHOD: This study is a descriptive study involving 443 nursing students from two universities. Data were collected in September 2012 via a structured self-report questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. RESULTS: The mean scores for nurse image, core elements of nursing professionalism and nursing professionalism were 3.65+/-.46, 4.17+/-.39 and 3.59+/-.45, respectively. Nursing Professionalism had a significant positive correlation with nurse image (r=.749, p<.001) and core elements of nursing professionalism (r=.365, p<.001). In multiple linear regression, factors that influenced nursing professionalism were: temperament as nurses, professionalism, vision of career, role performance of nurses' image, and fundamental nursing practical experience. These variables explained about 58.8% of the total variance in nursing professionalism. CONCLUSION: For more positive nursing professionalism among students, more attention should be paid to enhancing the positive image of nurses. Doing so can serve as a fundamental resource for the development of appropriate strategies for nursing professionalism.

BACKGROUND: Primary hyperhidrosis is the disease of production of exessive sweat which is mainly localized in palm, sole, and axilla, treatment of the disease is usually accomplished with topical 20% aluminum chloride solution, an iontophoretic device, and surgery(sympathectomy) being reserved for recalcitrant cases. OBJECTIVE: We have compared the therapeutic effects with each treatments for hyperhidrosis using a skin surface hydrometer. METHODS: Thirty six patients(11 ; male, 25 ; femlale) with primary hyperhidrosis were evaluated in this study. Nineteen patients used topical 20% aluminum chloride solution, 10 patients used iontophoretic device, and 7 patients in recalcitrant cases. had sympathectomy. We have measured the conductance on the stratum corneum of the palm and sole suing skin surface hydrometer before and after treatment every weeks for a month. the control group were composed of healthy 10 males and 2 females. RESULTS: 1) In the patients of primary hyperhidroisis the conductances of palm, sloe and axilla were higher than that of control group(P<0.01). 2. There was a marked reduction of conductance after the treatment for one week by topical 20% aluminum chloride solution, an lontophoretic device, and sympathectomy(P<0.01). 3. After 2-4 week of treatment by the change obsetved after treatment for one week. 4. By iontophoretic device, there was a slight increasement of conductance of the palm after 2-3weeks of treatment. 5. We obseved a sustained decrease in the conductance by sympathectomy into 4 week. CONCLUSION: Topical 20% aluminum chloride solution, iontophoretic device, and sympathectomy were effective for treatment of hyperhirosis. Among hem sympathectomy showed the best effect. We observed that the skin surface hydrometer is useful to evaluate of the efficacy of the treatment.

Low back pain is the most costly occupational health problem and is in steadily increasing trend. Some occupational back problems often lead to persistent pain with medical, psychologic and occupational implications. Treatment is uncertain these chronic low back pain patients are responsible for most of medical expenses spent on occupational back pain. So, chronic low back pain prevention seems very important and is accomplished by a combination of measures. The authors experienced a case of chronic low back pain in compensation without definite evidence of organic causes and report the case with clinical reviews and measurements of the pain and pain behaviors using psychological tests and pain questionnaire.
