Kimura's disease is a rare benign disease characterized by subcutaneous or dermal tumors occurring predominantly on the head and the neck. It usually occurs in young adults without constitutional symptoms, except for peripheral blood eosinophilia. The histopathologic features of the tumor are characterized by dense lymphoid aggregates containing a prominent germinal center and by the proliferation of endothelial cells associated with varying degrees of lymphocytic, histiocytic, and eosinophilic infiltration. We report a case of Kimura's disease without peripheral blood eosinophilia in a 24-year-old male who had had a painless and slowly growing tumor-like swelling on his right groin for one year. The mass was excised, and the specimen was confirmed as Kimura's disease. After surgical excision, the lesion recurred, so 30 mg of oral prednisone was given daily for one month and then decreased gradually for another one month. Now, the lesion is completely healed.

The diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy associated with pheochromocytoma was made in a 24 year old male on the basis of symptoms and signs, measurements of metabolites of catecholamine, echocardiography and radionuclide ventriculography were preformed and demonstrated. The presence of a tumor on both adrenal glands without definite distant metastasis was demonstrated by abdominal ultrasonography, CT scanning and 131I-MIBC scintigraphy. Surgical removal was performed after proper preoperative preparation with a-adrenergic blocker. During the surgery, neither significant arrhythmia nor severe change of blood pressure was observed. After surgery, cardiac function of the patient improved slowly and progressively.

Journal of Korean Academy of Community Health Nursing 2020;31(2):166-178
Purpose:
This study was conducted to examine the effects of the oral care program for improving swallowing function of the elderly using welfare centers on depression, self efficacy, subjective oral health status and swallowing related quality of life.
Methods:
The intervention in this study was systematically developed through the six stages of Intervention Mapping Protocol (IMP) and was based on Mead’s symbolic interaction theory and Bandura's self efficacy theory. A non equivalent control group pre and post-test design was conducted on a total of 37 elderly people (experimental group: 19, control group: 18) from D city. The oral care program was administered to the experimental group once a week for five weeks, totaling five times, and the exact program ran for 50 minutes. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program.
Results:
Following the intervention, subjective oral health score, and swallowing related quality of life were significantly improved in the experimental group.
Conclusion
The oral care program presented in this study was found to be effective in increasing subjective oral health status, and swallowing related quality of life for the elderly using welfare centers.

Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1998;15(1):135-142
Maternal weight gain during pregnancy has been consistently associated with infant birth weight and pregnancy outcome. Our purpose was to determined the relationship between maternal weight gain pattern and birth weight. Consequently, maternal weight gain is monitored carefully and is encouraged during prenatal care in order to improve pregnancy outcome. Our study group included both 424 uncomplicated women and infant delivered at the Yeungnam University Hospital between 1993-1996. All recorded prenatal weight gain measurements were used to estimate maternal trimester weight gain, pattern of gain (based on low versus not-low gain at each trimester), and total gain at delivery. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to assess the relationship between these weight gain measurements and fetal birth weight. Each kilogram of maternal gain in the first, second, and third trimesters was associatedwith statistically related to the increase in fatal birth weight by 31.3, 19.0, and 24.5g, respectively. When compaired with the pattern of gain that was not low in any trimester, patterns with low gain in the first trimesters were associated with significant decreases in birth weight, but no important change in birth weight was seen for the group whose gains were not low in the first trimester. The results suggest that specific patterns of maternal weight gain, particularly weight gain during the first trimester, are related to fetal birth weight.

Journal of the Korean Shoulder and Elbow Society 2008;11(2):118-122
PURPOSE: We assessed the clinical results after the operative treatment of type 2 SLAP lesion with stiffness. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 13 patients who had SLAP lesion with stiffness were treated with arthroscopic capsular release, SLAP repair and treatment of the associated lesion. The average follow-up period was above 12 months. RESULTS: The postoperative mean VAS was scored 1.5 and the postoperative ROWE score was 92.3, which showed a significant improvement after the operation (P<0.001). The mean range of motion was a significantly improved after the operation (P<0.001). The ROWE score was excellent for all the cases. CONCLUSION: Arthroscopic capsular release and SLAP repair and treatment of the associated lesion in patients with type 2 SLAP lesion with stiffness are effective treatments for the increasing the range of motion and decreasing the pain.

Korean Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 1992;12(2):285-291
Cystic dilatation of bile duct, so called choledochal cysts are a well documented abnormalities. Although choledochal cyst is a relatively rare disease, the number of reports have been increasing especially in tht Orient. It may be easily overlooked by the conventional diagnostic methods, such as upper gastrointestinal series, intravenous cholangiography and abdominal ultrasonogrsphy. Recent advances on diagnostic methods, such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography had been helpful in demonstrating choledochal cysts. 29 patients with choledochal cysts who had been admitted in Hanyang Universty Hospital between September l981 and August 1991 were reviewed and the clinical endoseopic and rediographic findings were discussed comparing with that from foreign literatures. Korean Journal of Medicine 1998;55(6):1031-1038
OBJECTIVES: Few disciplines in medicine encompasses such wide diagnostic and treatment modalities as cardiology. A traditional text and education system is limited in its efficacy to convey such variety. In order to address this problem, a comprehensive computer-aided education system that compiles and links the current knowledge of cardiovascular diseases is proposed. An availability of such system through CD-ROM and world wide web will contribute undoubtedly to the promotion and betterment of current understandings of cardiology all over the world. METHODS AND RESULTS:1) The information about the cardiovascular diseases has been complied and organized. Multimedia medical information includes text, audio features that allow the users to study actual sounds, and visual aids (slides, real-time demonstration, and schematic illustrations).2) Cardiology education system can be approached according to "Disease module" or "Laboratory test module". One can readily look up the disease of interest and see the results of different tests. Or one can choose the laboratory test or physical examination and study the differences among the diseases. "Self test module" is also available to help user's self assessment of his/her understanding of cardiovascular diseases.3) This cardiology education program is conveniently stored in CD-ROM and can also be accessible through the world wide web (http://med.chungbuk.ac.kr/~mccho/ web-cardiology/alogo.html). CONCLUSION: A multimedia approach for the study of cardiovascular diseases has been developed and is now avaliable in CD-ROM. The same information can be obtained from our home page through the world wide web.

Journal of Veterinary Science 2001;2(2):143-145
An example of lymphoblastic lymphosarcoma was found in a 7-year-old male brown bear (Ursus arctos) that died after having a 7-month history of depression, anorexia and watery diarrhea. Grossly the mesenteric lymph nodes were enlarged to approximately 4 to 6 times their normal size and histologically diagnosed as lymphoblastic lymphosarcoma. The small intestinal mucosa was corrugated and had severe mural thickening due to infiltrated neoplastic cells. Hepatic metastasis was also noted. This is the first reported case of lymphosarcoma in Ursidae in Korea. As an incidental finding, endogenous lipid pneumonia was noted in the lung.
