1.Academic thoughts on Practice of acupuncture and moxibustion written by CHEN Jingwen, the acupuncture master in the Republic of China.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(3):305-308
Through the collection of Practice of acupuncture and moxibustion written by CHEN Jingwen, the acupuncture master in the Republic of China, the academic characteristics on acupuncture and moxibusiton were analyzed. The literature comparison method was adopted to compare the works of LUO Zhaoju, ZENG Tianzhi and LI Wenxian, etc. at the same period. It was discovered that CHEN Jingwen was the medical master who systematicly brought up the theory of acupoint properties earlier in the modern times. Classifying drugs based on acupoints was his academic feature. Additionally, the compatibility therapy of Chinese medicine was introduced to explain the essential ideas on the acupoints combination. The treatment was determined on the basis of zangxiang theory and the reinforcing and reducing therapy of acupuncture was emphasized in the determination of treatment and prescription. CHEN Jingwen's theory of acupoint property had been stressed and spread among the medical scholars in the Republic of China and he had made the beneficial exploration for the development of modern acupuncture and moxibustion therapy.

Objective To investigate the effect of compound betamethasone adjuvant on break-through pain after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty under sciatic nerve combined with femoral nerve block. Methods A total of 100 patients underwent unicondylar knee arthroplasty,32 males and 68 females, aged 55-75 years,BMI 18.5-35.0 kg/m2,ASA physical status Ⅰ-Ⅲ,were divided into three groups according to random number table method:no adjuvant group(group C,n=34),dexamethasone adjuvant group(group D,n=33)and compound betamethasone adjuvant group(group B,n=33).The patients in the three groups received sciatic nerve block and 0.4%ropivacaine 15 ml before anesthesia in-duction,then femoral nerve block,0.4%ropivacaine 15 ml in group C,0.4%ropivacaine 15 ml in group D(containing dexamethasone 5 mg),and 0.4%ropivacaine 15 ml in group B(containing compound beca-methasone 4 mg).The occurrence of breakthrough pain, the number of effective analgesic pump compres-sions,opioid dosage, and the number of remedial analgesia cases were recorded. The ground movement dis-tance was recorded 0-24 hours,24-48 hours, and 48-72 hours after operation. The sleep quality scores and adverse events were also recorded. Results Compared with group C,the incidence rate of breakthrough pain was lower(P<0.05),the number of effective analgesia pump compressions, the dosage of opioid, and the sleep quality score on the first night after operation were significantly decreased in group B(P<0.05).Compared with group D,the incidence rate of breakthrough pain and breakthrough pain score were lower(P<0.05),the number of effective analgesia pump compressions, the dosage of opioid, and the sleep quality score on the 1 st night after operation were significantly decreased in group B(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the ground movement distance of in different time periods and inci-dence of adverse events among the three groups. Conclusion Compound betamethasone adjuvant can reduce the incidence of breakthrough pain after unicompartmental knee arthroplasty under sciatic nerve com-bined with femoral nerve block, provide perfect analgesic effect, reduce postoperative opioid consumption, and improve the sleep quality of patients on the first night after surgery.

Journal of Prevention and Treatment for Stomatological Diseases 2023;31(10):720-726
Objective :
To investigate the achieved intrusion amount of the maxillary incisors and the influencing factors in clear aligner cases treated with extraction of premolars.
Methods :
This study has been reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee, and informed consent has been obtained from patients. Thirty adult female patients who underwent extraction of the bilateral maxillary first premolars followed by clear aligner therapy were included. CBCT data before and after treatment were obtained, and three-dimensional reconstruction with registration alignment was performed. A spatial coordinate system was established, and the achieved intrusion amount was measured, followed by calculation of the intrusion efficacy. The factors related to the achieved intrusion amount were investigated through multiple linear regression analysis.
Results :
The overall efficacy of maxillary incisor intrusion was 54%, with the maxillary central incisors (48%) lower than the lateral incisors (59%), which was statistically significant (P<0.001). Regression analysis showed that the designed intrusion amount and the stepwise intrusion design were positively correlated with the achieved intrusion amount. The designed retroclination amount and use of class Ⅱ intermaxillary elastics were negatively correlated with the achieved intrusion amount. The initial overbite, overjet, crowding, upper central incisor inclination, amount of the first series of aligners, canine attachment type, posterior teeth attachment type and bite ramps had no significant correlation with the achieved intrusion amount.
Conclusion
In maxillary first premolar extraction cases treated with clear aligners, the upper central incisors have lower efficacy of intrusion movement than the lateral incisors. The achieved intrusion amount of maxillary incisors was influenced by multiple factors, which should be considered comprehensively for better vertical control in such cases.
