1.Calcitonin gene-related peptide in bone repair and bony remodeling
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(37):-
Fracture healing is regulated by a complex array of factors,of which calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP) has been shown to play an anabolic role in bone metabolism. It has been reported that CGRP-containing sensory nerve fibers increased apparently at bone fracture site.CGRP is an important sensory neuropeptides expressed in bone tissue, although the primary function of this neuropeptides is to induce vasodilatation and blood flow, substantial evidence has shown that targeted expression of CGRP to mouse osteoblasts increased bone density, stimulated cancellous bone formation in vivo, especially the presence of CGRP receptors on rat osteoblast provides further evidence for a direct role for CGRP in modulating the function and growth of bone.CGRP is also proved to be a neuropeptide with proinflammatory activities,it may play a direct role in initiating the local inflammatory cell infiltration in the fracture site.Although it has been recognized that CGRP plays an important role in bone repair and reconstruction, the mechanism of this activation still remains to be elucidated.

3.Epidemiology and Mutational Analysis of Global Strains of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever Virus
Virologica Sinica 2011;26(4):229-244
Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a severe illness with high fatality.Cases are reported in several countries in Africa,Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.Phylogenetic analyses based on the virus S (nucleocapsid),M (glycoprotein),and L (polymerase) genome segments sequences indicate distinct geographic lineages exist but their specific genetic characteristics require elucidation. In this work we collected all full length S segment sequences and generated a phylogenetic tree based on the alignment of these 62 samples. We then analyzed the alignment using entries from AAIndex, the Amino Acid Index database,to identify amino acid mutations that performed significant changes in charge, pka, hydropathy and side chain volume. Finally,we mapped these changes back to the tree and alignment to identify correlated mutations or sites that characterized a specific lineage.Based on this analysis we are able to propose a number of sites that appear to be important for virus function and which would be good candidates for experimental mutational analysis studies.

Objective To evaluate the role of postoperative electron beam radiotherapy in the management of ke-loids. Methods Between January 2004 and December 2006,116 cases of keloids were treated with 6 MeV electron beam radiotherapy within 24 h after surgical resection of the keloids. All patients had received a total of 21 Gy in seven daily 3-Gy fractions. Treatment was started at the 24th h after surgery. Patients were followed up and the information regarding treatment results, early and late radiation toxicity, and the satisfaction level by self-assessments was recorded. Results Recurrence occurred in 17 cases of keloids(14. 7%),and was correlated with site of the lesions(χ~2 =29. 91,P<0. 01). Most recurrences were observed at site of sternum (10/43) and shoulder (5/13 ). Keloid associated symptoms, e. g. itching and pain, were improved in 88. %%. For early toxicity outcomes, 100% had grade 1~2 skin erythema,7. 8% had wound delayed union, and 4. 3% had infection. For late toxicity outcomes, 30. 2% reported grade 1~2 hyperpigmentation, 11. 2% grade 1~2 hypopigmentation, and 5. 2% grade 1 telangiectasia. No severe complications or secondary malignancies were observed. 72. 4% patients described the results of treatment as excellent or good, and 15. 5% patients were not satisfied with the treatment results. Conclusion Postoperative electron radiotherapy is well tolerated and effective in preventing keloid recurrence.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(12):1953-1957
BACKGROUND:There are usualy removable appliances and fixed appliances in the mouth of orthodontic patients, resulting in periodontitis. Because of its high security, good heat resistance, long action time, not easy to produce resistance and wide antimicrobial spectrum, inorganic antibacterial agents have become a research hotspot. OBJECTIVE:To review the application and research progress of inorganic nano-antibacterial materials in orthodontic treatment. METHODS:A computer-based search of PubMed and CNKI databases was performed for articles about applications of inorganic nano-antibacterial materials in orthodontic treatment published from January 2001 to December 2014 using the keywords of “orthodontic, antibacterial agent” in English and Chinese, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Inorganic nano-antibacterial materials for oral bacteria have good antibacterial properties, and are a kind of ideal biological material. Bracket enamel adhesive, removable appliance resin material and bracket can play correct and antibacterial roles by modification of inorganic nano-antibacterial materials, so as to reduce complications such as dental caries. However, the application of nano-antibacterial materials is stil in its infancy, the modified materials need to be studied further in terms of color problems, physical and chemical properties and biological security.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 2015;(3):375-379,383
Objective:To study on the levels of CXCL8 and its receptors (CXCR1 and CXCR2) in peripheral blood neutrophils of the patients with chronic hepatitis B.Methods:The neutrophils were isolated and purified by neutrophil isolation medium, and the loads of HBV-DNA in neutrophils were detected by PCR,and the levels of HBeAg in serum were measured by ELISA.The patients were divided into different groups according to the detective results so that the expressions of CXCL8 and its receptors ( CXCR1,CXCR2) in neutrophils were detected by the methods of streptavidin-biotin complex ( SABC ) immunocytochemistry stain. Results:The data of SABC immunocytochemical stain showed that the positive color of CXCL8 was mainly located in the cytoplasm of PMNs.However, the most positive color of CXCR1and CXCR2 was mainly expressed in the cytoplasm and cell membrane.Interestingly, the deeper immune coloring of CXCL8 and CXCR1, and relatively shallow immune coloring of CXCR2 were explored in the group with positive of HBeAg.The similar detective results also had been found in the cases with positive of HBV DNA in neutrophils.Compared with the normal control group, the levels of CXCL8 and CXCR1 in the patients were significantly increased ( P<0.05) ,but the differences were too small to be statistically significant in the level of CXCR2 (P>0.05).Conclusion:After neutrophils occult infected by HBV,not only the secretion of CXCL8 can be promoted, but also the expression of CXCR1 will be further increased. The data of immunohistochemical staining have been shown that the color degree of CXCL8 and its receptors ( CXCR1, CXCR2 ) are positive correlation to the level of HBeAg and the loads of HBV DNA.More PMNs can be chemotactic attraction to lesion so as to participate in the local inflammatory injury and tissue repair via the interactive pathway of the high expression of CXCR1 on surface of neutrophils with CXCL8.
