2.Roles of different n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid ratio in gap junctional intercellular communication in breast cancer cell lines
Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(04):-
Objective To examine the effects of different n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA) ratio in gap junctional intercellular communication (GJIC) in breast cancer cell lines. Methods After MCF-7(ER + )and MDA-MB-231(ER - )cells were treated respectively with n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid ratio (1-10), Ki-67 expression in nuclear by immunocytochemistry, connexin 26 and 43 expression in cytoplasm and membrane by Western blotting, and GJIC by scrape-loading dye transfer method were performed. Results Immunocytochemistry showed that pure n-6 and 10∶1 n-6/n-3 increased Ki-67 expression (P
3.Effects of different n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid ratio on lipid metabolic gene expression in breast cancer cell lines
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(07):-
Objective To study the effects of different n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid ratio on the lipid metabolic gene expression and MAPK activity in breast cancer cell lines. Methods MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid, or n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid, or the mixture of n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid at ratio of 1∶1, 5∶1, 10∶1. The cell proliferation capacity was detected by MTT, the expression of lipid metabolic gene (COX-2, 5-LOX, PPAR? and PPAR?) were assayed by RT-PCR, MAPK phosphorylation levels were detected by Western blotting. Results COX-2 mRNA expression was not found in MCF-7 cells. As compared to normal control group, pure n-6 and 10∶1 n-6/n-3 promoted cell proliferation, up-regulated the expression of COX-2, 5-LOX, PPAR? and PPAR? mRNA , increased MAPK phosphorylation levels in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells (P

Objective To explore the metabolism of micronutri ents related to dark adaptation of radar operators through nutritional intervent ion. Methods A total of 34 male radar operators aged between 18 ~29 years old were randomly divided into control and experimental groups. The c ontrol group were on normal diet, and the experimental group received the supple ment of VA, Zn and Se in additional to normal diet. The experiment lasted 4 week s. The levels of serum VA, Zn and Se were measured before and after the experime nt. Results The levels of serum VA, Zn and Se in the experime ntal group were significantly higher than that in the control group after the experiment (P<0.01). Conclusion The supplement of VA, Zn an d Se for 4 weeks may elevate, the levels of serum VA, Zn and Se significantly (reached or surpassed normal levels) and suggests that VA, Zn and Se su pplementation may effectively enhance the dark adaptation of radar operators.

Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of naloxone for treating cerebral infarction. Methods Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)and quasi-RCTs were identified from MEDLINE(1966-2005.4),EMBASE(1980-2005.4),Cochrane Controlled Trials Register(Cochrane Library issue 2,2005),CBMdisc(1978 -2005.4).We handsearched related published and unpublished data and their references. All naloxone treating for cerebral infarction were included.Data were extracted and evaluated by two reviewers independently with designed extraction form.RevMan 4.2.7 software was used for data analysis. Results Twelve RCTs involving 1075 patients were included. All the results of meta-analysis were listed as follows:(1)Total effective rate:compared with none control,5 studies showed that naloxone had a statistical difference with RR 1.24,95 %CI 1.05 to 1.46;(2)cure rate:compared with none control, naloxone had a statistical differences with RR 1.54,95%CI 1.09 to 2.18;(3)adverse effect:the number of accidence were few and representations were light. Conclusion Naloxone may increase the total effective rate and cure rate of cerebral infarction.More high quality trials are required.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(03):-
Objective: To study the effect of different dietary fatty acid compositions on breast tumors induced by methyl-nitrosourea(MNU) in rats. Method: Female SD rats were fed diets containing 15% fat (wt/wt) in the experimental period. At age of 50d, rats were randomly assigned to 8 groups and each group was suldivided into tumor group and control group. The tumor group was given a single ip injection of MNU (50 mg/kg bw) and switched to one of 8 different diets containing following fatty acids: saturated fatty acid(SFA); monounsaturated fatty acid(MUFA); n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA); n-3 PUFA; 1∶1 n-6/n-3; 5∶1 n-6/n-3; 10∶1 n-6/n-3; 1∶2∶1 S/M/P(n-6/n-3 at 1∶1) for 18w. The control groups received the physiological saline only. The weight growth, mammary tumor incidence, tumor multiplicity, and tumor latency were observed. Results: Except the weight growth was arrested in rats fed on n-3 PUFA 6w later, there was no significant difference in weight growth among the other groups. Additionally, there was no mammary tumor occurrence in control groups, but in model groups, the incidence of mammary tumors in rats fed on SFA, MUFA, n-6 PUFA,5∶1 n-6/n-3, 10∶1 n-6/n-3 and 1∶2∶1 S/M/P diets was twice higher than that in rats fed on 1∶1 n-6/n-3 diet, although there was also no tumorin rats fed on n-3 PUFA diet. Moreover, tumor multiplicity in rats fed on 1∶1 n-6/n-3 diet was obviously decreased in comparison with those groups, and tumor latency was prolonged too. Conclusion: The different dietary fatty acid compositions can diversely influence MNU-induced breast tumors incidence in rats and 1∶1 n-6/n-3 has obvious inhibitory effect.

9.Analysis of Services and Cost in CVA Patients by Severity in Hospital-based Home Health Care.
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing 2001;31(4):619-630
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to analyze the differences in terms of services and cost between CVA without typical diseases (Group I), and CVA with typical diseases (Group II), in their Hospital-based home health care. METHOD: The subjects of this study were 308 CVA patients who used home care nursing during the second phase demonstration project of their hospital-based home health care. Results: The results of the study was as follows 1. Group II had more home visit (15.3/12.7) (p>0.05), and cases of death when home care (16.8/11.4) (p<0.05). 2. Group II needed more services than Group I such as bladder irrigation, skin care, bed sore care, glycerin enema, finger enema, lung care, urine sugar test, monitoring and surveillance of fluid infusion and R.O.M exercise (p<0.05). 3. The variables that showed statistical significance in the regression analysis were family style, OPD visit, level of consciousness, patient's state on termination of home care, and some extend of home health care services (R2=0.373, 0.205). CONCLUSION: Home nursing care needs to be planned by severity in Hospital-based home health care for CVA patients.
