Objective To explore the appropriate time to block adrenal androgens in endocrine therapy of prostate cancer.Methods An human androgen-dependent prostate carcinoma xenograft model in SCID mice was established with LNCaP cells.Firstly,the serum PSA and tumor volume of 2 groups (castrated and not castrated) were measured on the 1,4,7,10,14,17,21,28,35,42,49 and 56 day to determine the recurrent time of prostate cancer after castration.Secondly,3 different groups of castration and adrenalectomy at the same time,adrenalectomy in recurrence after castration and sham adrenalectomy in recurrent after castration,were set to measure the serum PSA and tumor volume on the 1,4,7,10,14,17,21,28,35,42,49 and 56 day.The tumor tissues of 5 groups were harvested to measure testosterone concentration,and tumor progress in these groups was compared.Results The recurrence time was 14 days in castrated group,21 days in group with castration and adrenalectomy at the same time and 35 days in group with adrenalectomy in recurrence after castration.The testosterone concentration in tumor tissues was (2.69± 0.21) pmol/g in the group with castration and adrenalectomy at the same time,and (2.16±0.13) pmol/g in the group with adrenalectomy in recurrence after castration,and the difference was significant (P＜0.05).Conclusion Compared with the therapy of castration and adrenalectomy at the same time,the therapy of adrenalectomy in recurrence after castration may have slower progress course in prostate cancer.

Objective To study the correlation and variation between plants of internal transcribed spacers (ITS) sequence of the six medicinal plants of Euphorbia L. in Anhui and Jiangsu Provinces, in (order) to provide their DNA molecular marker to identify and explore the phylogenetic relationship of the plants of [WTBX]Euphorbia L. Methods To determine rDNA ITS sequence for the plants of Euphorbia L. by PCR technology. Results The sequences of ITS1 in the six species ranged from 255 to 262 bp in length and those of ITS2 from 214 to 236 bp. The dendrogram was obtained with Mega2 analysis. The analysis result was consistent with those from morphology. Conclusion The method can be used to identify the plants of [WTBX](Euphorbia) L. among different species and to differentiate their fakes.

Thirteen novel oleanolic acid (OA) derivatives were designed and synthesized with modification at positions of C-3, C-12 and C-28 of OA. Their structures were confirmed by MS, 1H NMR and elemental analysis. Their in vitro cytotoxicities against various cancer cell lines (SGC7901, MCF-7 and A549) were evaluated by MTT assay. The results indicated that the tested derivatives were found to have stronger cell growth inhibitory activity than OA. Among them, compounds II2 and II3 showed more potent cytotoxicity on MCF-7 and A549 tumor cells than gefitinib (positive control). They are worthy to be studied further.

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of self-tooth grafting in repair of dentition defect.Methods Twenty-one cases were repaired by self-tooth that were pulled without function or impacted tooth onto the other place in dentition when the original teeth were missing,they were treated root canal completly. Results Twenty-one patients had been monitored for 3 years,sixteen patients of whom were prefect transplantations and stable. It demonstrated the high success rate of dental into plant and statistying restorated effect, four patients of 21 patients were satisfactory, only one of 21 patients was failure. Conclusion Self-tooth grafting is effective to the repair of dentition defect and oould be popularized.

Objective To estimate the incidence,clinicopathological characteristics and therapeutic features in children with solid pseudopapillary tumors of the pancreas(SPTP).Methods Nine eases of children SPTP after diagnosis were collected in our hospital.Routine HE,PAS staining and immunohiatochemical staining of multiple indicators were analyzed,combined with literature analysis of clinical manifestations,imaging,pathological features,surgical treatment and follow-up case.Results The average age in nine cases of SPTP was 10.3 years.The SPTP patients in children in our hospital accounted for 29.0% of pancreas solid tumors.Many clinical manifestations were abdominal pain(5 cases,55.56%),abdominal mass(3 cases,33.33%),jaundice(1 cases,11.11%),and other symptoms.B-ultrasonography and CT showed pancreatic lesions,clear boundary,was solid and cystic,and some have a little calcification.Pathological features:tumor limitations,capsule integrity,and cross-section alternating solid and cystic lesions,tumors organizations sheet hemorrhage,necrosis and cystic change.Immunohistochemically,the positive rates were 100% for α1-AT,66.7% for NSE,33.3% for S-100 and 100% for PAS.The patients were followed-up for 4 months to 10 years and were alive postoperatively,but no local recurrence and distant metastasis.Histological examination showed solid with cystic areas and papillary protrusions.Conclusion SPTP should be the second most common pancreatic tumor in children.Girls were more frequently affected.The overall prognosis following surgical resection was good.

Objective To probe the effect of transareolar or mastoscopy assisted breast-conserving surgery combined with open axillary lymph node dissection in the treatment of breast cancer. Methods Nineteen patients, with breast cancer of a diameter cm from the nipple, were treated by transareolar or mastoscopy assisted breast-conserving surgery from August 2001 to November 2003.After the lipolysis and suction of axillary fat,open axillary lymph node dissection was performed. Results Intraoperative frozen pathological examination had showed positive margin in 1 case, in which an enlarged excision was required to obtain a negative result. Postoperative subcutaneous edema underlying the operated site occurred in 2 cases and was cured by needle aspiration and pressure dressing. Excellent cosmetic outcomes were obtained with symmetrical breast development and all the patients were satisfied with the treatment. Postoperative follow-up for 2～19 months (mean, 10.6 months) found no recurrence in the breast or the axillary fossa. Conclusions Breast-conserving surgery can be expediently carried out by means of transareolar incision or with the help of mastoscopy. The combination with open axillary lymph node dissection may give favorable effect.

Objective To study the integration and differentiation of spinal neural stem cells after transplantation into mice retina. Methods Primary cultured neural stem cells were transplanted into mice retinas,then the integration ratio and the differentiation pattern of the donor cells were estimated with immunohistochemistry method. Results 1.The integration ratio decreased with the age of the host mice.2.The grafts differentiate into both glia and neuronal cells after transplantation.Conclusion The integration and differentiation of the primary cultured spinal NSC were modulated by both endogenous and exdogenous factors,which provided new proofs for the study of the in vivo differentiation of the NSC.

Objective:To establish a method for the content determination of total nitrogen in Nidus Vespae by salicylic acid and sodium hypochlorite spectrophotometry. Methods:The content of total nitrogen in Nidus Vespae from different areas with various batches was detected. Nidus Vespae was treated with sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide, and colored by salicylic acid and sodium hypochlo-rite. Using ammonium chloride as the control sample, the content of total nitrogen in the samples was tested at 650 nm. To ensure the method reliability, single factor experiments were performed to study the effects of temperature, reaction time and reagent dosage; or-thogonal experiments were used to screen optimum amounts of phosphate buffer solution, sodium salicylate solution and sodium hypo-chlorite solution. Results:The results showed that the optimum temperature was ambient, and the optimum time was 1. 5h. The opti-mum amount of phosphate buffer solution , sodium salicylate solution and sodium hypochlorite solution was 4 ml,7 ml and 1. 5 ml, re-spectively. The linear range of total nitrogen was 0. 06-0. 78 μg·ml-1(r=0. 9998), and the average recovery was 100. 98% (RSD=2. 10%,n=6). Conclusion:The method can be used to determine the total nitrogen content in Nidus Vespae. The total nitrogen content in Nidus Vespae is various in various areas with different batches.

Objective To analyze the effect of Chinese medicine differentiation syndrome combined with hormone in the treatment of nephrotic syndrome.Methods 84 children with nephrotic syndrome from May 2005 to May 2012 in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group,42 cases in each group.The control group was given hormone,while the observation group was given Chinese medicine on the basis of hormone treatment.The clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the laboratory indicators of the observation group were better than before treatment,the differences were statistically significant(P ＜ 0.05).After treatment,the laboratory parameters of the observation group were better than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P ＜ 0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 83.33％,which was significantly higher than 52.38％ of the control group(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine differentiation syndrome with hormone in treatment of children with nephrotic syndrome is clear,and it is safe and reliable,which is worth to be applied in clinical.
