Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1970;11(1):17-20
The authors analysed statistically 186 cases of the glaucoma patients among 20,785 out-patients who visited to our eye clinic from Jan. 1957 to Dec. 1969. The incidence of the glaucoma was 0.895% which was remarkably lower than the other reports. The following results were obtained. 1) Among the 186 cases, there were 85 male and 101 female patients. 2) There was no significant difference in left and right eye. 3) 51-60 year age group was prevalent (49 cases). 4) The age group over 40 occupied 61.3%. 5) The open angle glaucoma was the highest incidence.

Journal of Educational Evaluation for Health Professions 2011;8(1):3-
The purpose of this study was to describe outcome indicators of nursing education including critical thinking, professionalism, leadership, and communication and to evaluate differences among nursing programs and academic years. A descriptive research design was employed. A total of 454 students from four year baccalaureate (BS) nursing programs and two three-year associate degree (AD) programs consented to complete self-administered questionnaires. The variables were critical thinking, professionalism, leadership and communication. Descriptive statistics, chi2-test, t-tests, ANOVA, and the Tukey test were utilized for the data analysis. All the mean scores of the variables were above average for the test instruments utilized. Among the BS students, those in the upper classes tended to attain higher scores, but this tendency was not identified in AD students. There were significant differences between BS students and AD students for the mean scores of leadership and communication. These findings suggested the need for further research to define properties of nursing educational outcomes, and to develop standardized instruments for research replication and verification.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1996;37(12):2089-2096
To determine the factors which can increase the failure after glaucoma filtering surgery and to evaluate the affect of Mitomycin C(MMC) on filtering surgery. We evaluated 249 eyes who underwent glaucoma filtering surgery consecutively during last 2 years in Catholic University Medical College hospitals. 129 eyes had risk factors and 68 eyes of them were treated with MMC during operation. The success rate of the group with risk factors was significantly lower (P=0.001) than that of the group without risk factors. In the risk group, MMC has increased the sucess rate (P=0.07). Previous cataract surgery, neovascularization of iris (NVI) , re-trabeculectomy, young age under 40, uveitis and diabetes were significant risk factors for surgical failure. After adjustment of each factors, previous cataract surgery, NVI, retrabeculectomy and young age still increased the failure rate significantly. Among them we were able to make reduse the effect of re-trabeculectomy and youth by using MMC during surgery. The outcome of glaucoma surgery may increase the success rate in some high risk cases.

10.The Frontalis Muscle Transposition in Severe Congenital Ptosis.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1997;38(4):524-529
The frontalis sling operation for the correction of severe congenital ptosis have been used, but this method is not entirely satisfactory in some cases due to longstanding lagophthalmos, lid lag, undercorrection. So authors have used the frontalis muscle transposition in 5 patient (6 eyes) in 1996 Febuary to July with satisfactory results. The frontalis sling operation was correction method by using foreign materials in severe ptosis patients with poor levator function, however, the operation method of frontalis transposition was correction method by using patients` own muscle, so more physiologic than frontalis sling operation. And postoperative compliscations including lagophthalmos, undercorrection were less developed in patients were operated by method of frontalis muscle transposition. Therefore, the frontalis muscle transposition need careful technique anatomically but more physiological operation method than frontalis sling operation in severe congenital ptosis patients with good frontalis muscle function.
