1.Research progress on the standardization of Chinese Tuina therapy: a short review.
Chinese journal of integrative medicine 2013;19(1):68-72
The standardization of Chinese Tuina therapy is one of the most popular research topics in Chinese medicine. By reviewing the literatures contributed by Chinese investigators between 1982 and 2010, the authors summarized the progress on Chinese Tuina manipulation techniques, in particular, focusing on the data on several key parameters (i.e., frequency, duration, and force). This summarization will benefit the standardization of Chinese Tuina.

4.Feasibility analysis on the discipline of acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina to be the top-grade discipline.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2012;32(10):865-870
By reviewing the historical evolution of the major catalogue adjustment of the discipline of acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina for the graduate students, the current situation of the development of the discipline of acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina is analyzed deeply in this paper. Based on the basic requirements of the setup and the adjustment of the top-grade discipline in the Discipline Catalogue Setup and Administrative Measures for the Academic Degree Award and Personnel Training (Academic Degree [2009] No. 10 Document) issued by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education, with the strictly analysis, the author proposed that the discipline of acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina should be set up to be the top-grade discipline. The author stated that the discipline of acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina possessed the explicit study object and had many assignable second-grade disciplines. It could be acknowledged extensively in the academic field in terms of the setup of the top-grade discipline. The author expounded adequately the necessity of the stable and urgent requirements for the talents of the discipline of acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina in the society, which provided the reference evidences for the adjustments of the discipline and major catalogue in the future.

Journal of Korean Physical Therapy 2017;29(2):85-90
PURPOSE: This study was conducted to determine how a manual therapy (joint mobilization and flexion-distraction technique) would affect pain and function with the chronic low back pain. METHODS: Thirty patients were assigned to either the experimental group (n=15) or the control group (n=15). Patients in the experimental group performed joint mobilization and flexion-distraction technique. Patients in the control group performed spinal decompression therapy. Both exercises were performed for three days per week, for a period of six weeks. Pain was measured by the visual analogue scale (VAS) and functional disability was measured using the Oswestry disability index (ODI). A paired t-test was used for identify differences before and after treatment, and an independent t-test was used to identify differences between treatment groups. RESULTS: In the within group comparison, the experimental group and control group differed significantly for all variables (p<0.05). However, no significant differences were observed in any variables between groups (p>0.05). CONCLUSION: The above results confirmed that it is necessary to confirm the various benefits of therapy with the joint mobilization and the flexion-distraction technique. The findings of the concerned study will be useful to doctors applying therapy to treat patients with the chronic low back pain.

7.Cauda Equina Syndrome after Spinal Manipulative Therapy: A case report.
Journal of the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine 1999;23(2):439-443
Spinal manipulative therapy is frequently prescribed for back and neck pain. Though most persons practicing manipulation insist that spinal manipulative therapy is a safe treatment, serious complications could occur. It is essential to be aware of these complications in prescribing or practicing prreting manipulative therapy. We report one case of cauda equina syndrome caused by spinal manipulative therapy with review of literatures.

Chinese journal of integrative medicine 2018;24(7):531-536
OBJECTIVETo reveal the force mechanism for therapeutic effect of pushing manipulation with one-finger meditation.
METHODSA total of 15 participants were recruited in this study and assigned to an expert group, a skilled group and a novice group, with 5 participants in each group. Mechanical signals were collected from a biomechanical testing platform, and these data were further observed via similarity analysis and cluster analysis.
RESULTSComparing the force waveforms of manipulation revealed that the manipulation forces were similar between the expert group and the skilled group (P>0.05). The mean value of vertical force was 9.8 N, and 95% CI rang from 6.37 to 14.70 N, but there were significant differences compared with the novice group (P<0.05). The result of overall similarity coefficient cluster analysis showed that two kinds of manipulation forces curves were existed between the expert group and the skilled group.
CONCLUSIONPushing manipulation with one-finger meditation is a kind of light stimulation manipulation on the acupoint, and force characteristics of double waveforms continuously alternated during manual operation.

China Journal of Orthopaedics and Traumatology 2011;24(8):662-666
Traditional Chinese spinal manipulative therapy (TCSMT) and Chiropractic are similar in treating related with spinal disease, but they keep different characteristics of themselves. Although Chiropractic's "Subluxation" and TCSMT's "Jin Chu Cao and Gu Cuo Feng" theory have not be widely recognized, yet Chiropractic has already have official cooperation with WHO,and has launched "WHO Basis of Chiropractic Training and Security Guide" which would promote the project further research. Comparatively, TCSMT has mature theoretical system and satisfactory clinical effectiveness, but it's hard to global spreading formally and legally. By means of cogitation of the TCSMT'S basic theories and clinical applications, this paper aims to analyze the inadequacy aspects of it, and hope to borrow some Chiropractic's advantage to TCSMT's global spreading. And I wish this paper could be helpful for relative doctors and researchers.
