The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1971;6(1):65-69
A case of the bilateral idiopathic aseptic necrosis of the femoral head which was treated by a Colonnas arthroplasty and was followed by an Austin Moores prosthesis on the other hip joint satisfactorily is reported with review of literatures. A 44-year-old woman has a long history of steroid therapy for allevation of pain which started in hips for many months and also had an indigestion secondary to chronic hepatic disease. Diagnosis of the idiopathic necrosis of the femoral head was made by the typical roentgenologic findings and the clinical symptoms, and it was confirmed by the operative findings. The choice of treatment in bilateral idiopathic necrosis of the head of the femur is considered to be cup arthroplasty, but circumstances under which cup and instruments are not available certain another surgical procedures should be considered such as other metalic replacement or non-metalic arthroplasty. Here in this case Colonnas arthroplasty without metalic replacement in a hip and the prosthetic replacement in the other joint were thought to be the best procedure. Bilatal Colonnas arthroplasty is not chosen because they develop bilateral abduction deformity of the hips. She was discharged from the hospital with a pair of crutches in good function in her hips without any complication.

5.Pigmented Villonodular Synovitis: Report of four cases
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1978;13(3):439-444
Pigmented villonodular synovitis is a kind of benigh inflammatory lesion involving synovial membrane, characterized by yellowish or yellow-grayish colored villous nodules of synovial membrane, formed by accumulation of cholesterol and hemosiderin with numerous cleftings of synovial membrane. The lesion was first described by Chassaignac (1852) as the nodular form arising in relation to the flexor tendon sheath of the middle and index fingers. After that Simon (1865) described it as a xanthoma of the synovia, and there after various names were given by many authors, according to the characteristics of the pathologic fetures. In 1941 Jaffe named this lesion pigmented villonodular synovitis, which is now generally accepted. Still the direct cause of this lesion is not clearly known, but chronic stimulation of synovia is generally accepted as an etiologic factor. In this paper we report four cases of pigmented villonodular synovitis, which were diagnosed and treated in our department. One of the four cases occurred at the proximal tibiofibula joint which is a very rare site.

Additional two cases of Klinefelter's syndrome with a literatural review was presented Two cases were revealed characteristics of Klinefelter's syndrome such as small testes, hyalinization of seminiferous tubules, azoospermia, increased FSH, normal 17-ketogteroid and positive sex chromatin. One case was associated with left inguinal crytorchidism.

Clinics in Shoulder and Elbow 2017;20(4):230-235
BACKGROUND: Neer type II distal clavicle fractures have the drawback of coracoclavicular instability and insufficient distal bony fragment, thereby making it difficult to achieve adequate fixation. Although various surgical treatments have been described for Neer type II fracture, the optimal treatment remains controversial. This study reports the clinical results and usefulness of anatomical locking plate with additional K-wire fixation. METHODS: A totally of 21 patients with type II distal clavicle fracture were included in the study. The surgical procedure reduced the fracture temporarily; it included insertion of one or two K-wire from the lateral margin of the distal fragment to the proximal fragment through the fracture site, followed by application and fixation of the locking plate. The bony union and migration of K-wire was evaluated in the follow-up radiography. The coracoclavicular distance and acromioclavicular joint arthrosis were assessed at the final follow-up. The Constant Score (CS) and Korean Shoulder Score (KSS) were evaluated for clinical scoring. RESULTS: Bone union was achieved in all cases. At the final follow-up, coracoclavicular distance of the injured shoulder was increased, as compared to the intact shoulder (p=0.002), with no accompanying clinical symptoms. No K-wire migration was observed. At the final follow-up, K-wire irritation was observed in two cases and acromioclavicular arthrosis in one case, with no other adverse effects. Pain visual analogue scale, CS, and KSS were improved in all cases. CONCLUSIONS: The method of anatomical locking plate with additional K-wire fixation could be useful in achieving beneficial clinical results.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 2002;32(1):59-62
Osteoma is the most common benign tumor of the cranium, and the frontal sinus is its most frequent location in the cranium. A 39-year-old woman presented with left exophthalmos was found to have orbital and intracranial extension of a giant osteoma involving anterior cranial fossa. The etiology, presenting features, diagnosis and treatment of this tumor are reviewed.
