Cutaneous larva migrans(CLM) is a ubiquitous self-limiting skin eruption which has intensely pruritic, serpiginous, raised, sharply demarcated, red lesions. It is most frequently caused by larvae of dog and cat hookworms. We report two typical cases of cutaneous larva migrans that appeared as pruritic exanthems in two people after they had travelled in Southeast Asia. It is suggested one should consider cutaneous larva migrans in the differential diagnoses of erythematous pruritic lesions.

Journal of the Korean Knee Society 2007;19(1):89-96
PURPOSE: We analyzed the correlation of the Lysholm score, anterior displacement of tibia on stress radiography and muscle strength around the knee with postural control after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and also compared them with the normal subjects. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty-five patients after ACL reconstruction were evaluated with Lysholm knee score, anterior displacement on stress radiography with Telos, muscle strength around the knee with Biodex dynamometer and postural control with posturography. RESULTS: The postural control had significant correlation with the Lysholm knee score & anterior displacement on stress radiography(r=0.565, r=0.783, p<0.01), but not with muscle strength around the knee(p>0.05). Patients group with 5mm instability under anterior displacement on stress radiography showed no significance compared with normal control group, while the group with instability more than 6mm showed significant differences in some conditions com- pared with control group. CONCLUSION: Postural control after ACL reconstruction have significant correlation with Lysholm score and we presumed that the acquisition of mechanical stability of the knee after ACL reconstruction may be one of the important factors associated with the recovery of postural control by improvement of the proprioception.

Journal of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons 2003;29(4):239-244
The common errors in preoperative treatment plan for the orthognathic surgery can be occurred during cast impression, cast mounting procedure with face-bow transfer, surgical stent fabrication, and so on. One of the most common errors exists during mounting process of the model on the articulator. Accurate mounting of dental casts to articulator should be achieved by transferring the 3- dimensional spatial relationship of the maxillary arch to an articulator. A face-bow is used for transfer this relationship to articulator, usually by relating the face-bow to a plane of reference of maxillary cast. The purpose of this study is evaluation of the accuracy of face-bow transferring of maxillary model to the articulator. The maxillary casts of thirty patients for orthognathic surgery were mounted on articulator with an face-bow instrument. The relationship of occlusal plane angle to Frankfort horizontal plane relations were compared the cephalogram with the cast-mounted articulator. As a result of this study, the significant difference between the maxillary occlusal planes angle in the cephalogram and articulator were found . The results were followed,1. The mean occlusal plane angle in cast-mounted articulator was 13.5.(SD+/-5.4).2. The mean occlusal plane angle in cephalogram was 10.4.(SD+/-4.3).3. The mean difference of occlusal plane angle between cast-mounted articulator and cephalogram was 3.3.(SD+/-4.6).According to the result, we should suggest that the occlusal plane angle to Frankfort plane in cast-mounted articulator is more steeper than that of cephalogram. And then, maxillofacial surgeon should try to get a more predictable result by suggesting the proper correction method and mounting the cast accurately.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the preterm labor & preterm infants care in Kwangju and Chonam. METHODS: A study was conducted for 2,360 newborns who were born at four main hospitals in Kwangju and chonam from January 1, 1995 to December 31, 1997. Data were collected by review of hospital records. RESULTS: 1. The survival rate was 6.90% at 23~34 weeks, 38.60% at 27~28weeks and 90.67% after 31wks. 2. The survival rate divided according to birth weight were 8.89% below 1,000gm, 57.14% in 1,001~1,500gm, 86.75% in 1,501~2,000gm and 93.37% over 2,000gm respectively. 3. Clinical causes of neonatal death were RDS(48.84%) hyperbilirubinemia (20.74%), sepsis(11.95%) and pneumonia(9.67%). 4. Incidence of RDS was 23.22% and it's neonatal mortality was 36.28%. CONCLUSION: The survival rate of preterm birth in Kwang-Ju and Chon-nam was still lower than data from advancing countries, and main cause of neonatal death was respiratory distress syndrome.

9.ACE2 and Angiotensin-(1-7) in Hypertensive Renal Disease.
Electrolytes & Blood Pressure 2011;9(2):41-44
The recently discovered angiotensin-converting enzyme-related carboxypeptidase 2 (ACE2)-[Angiotensin-(1-7)(Ang-(1-7)]-Mas receptor axis has an opposing function to that of the ACE-Angiotensin II (Ang II)-Angiotensin type 1 (AT1) receptor axis. Ang-(1-7) is present in the kidneys at concentrations comparable to those of Ang II and is associated with vasodilation, modulation of sodium and water transport, and stimulation of nitric oxide (NO) synthase. Ang-(1-7) also acts as a physiological antagonist of Ang II by counterbalancing the Ang II-mediated intracellular signaling pathway. In a hypertensive model, increased ACE and decreased ACE2 along with a higher ACE/ACE2 ratio in hypertensive kidneys appeared to favor Ang II generation, leading to hypertensive renal damage. In addition, the administration of a selective Ang-(1-7) receptor blocker or an ACE2 inhibitor was associated with worsening of hypertension and renal function. Ang-(1-7)-mediated increases in renal blood flow were abolished by blockade of the Mas receptor and by inhibition of prostaglandin release and NO in spontaneously hypertensive rats and in Wistar-Kyoto controls. Further research on the function of the ACE2-Ang-(1-7)-Mas receptor axis could lead to a novel target for inhibiting kidney disease progression.

10.Qualitative Analysis of Food and Nutrition Informations offered in Television Programs(year 2002-2003) : Newscastings, Health Programs and Dramas.
Hyun Kyung MOON ; Young Ju JANG
Journal of the Korean Dietetic Association 2005;11(1):67-85
The study aimed to perform the qualitative analysis of food and nutrition informations offered in TV program by monitoring newscastings, health-related programs giving food and nutrition information, dramas for family, education programs for children, and information programs for elderly in major TV broadcasting station(KBS, MBC, SBS, EBS). In this study, statistical analysis were done for numbers of information items related to health or food and nutrition informations. Duration of program the main, subject, sources, evaluation criteria of the contents. Results of qualitative monitoring for TV program are as follows. For health-related informations major propotions of subjects for the newscastings were about diseases. Those for health information programs were about foods. Those for children-education programs were about groceries. Those for seniors' information programs were about eating habits. The analysis of food and nutrition information sources for most of programs were interviews with specialist and normal person, and on-the-spot-investingations. For food and nutrition informations those were evaluated as inappropriate, the propotion of news was increased to 72.2% in 2003 from 49.3% in 2002. For health information programs, it was increased to 67.7% in 2003 from 54.0% in 2002. But, in drama the propotion of inappropriate scenes were decreased to 16.2% in 2003 from 63.2% in 2002. In children-education programs, it was 40.0%. In seniors' information programs, it was 17.9% in 2002. The propotion of cases that the quantity of foods is inappropriate in the food scene of serial drama, decreased to 15.8% in 2003 from 28.6% in 2002. The rate of drinking scenes increased to 11.5% from 10.7%. The rate of smoking scenes decreased to 0.2% from 1.6% due to the broadcasting self-regulation of smoking scenes in dramas. In the newscatings and information programs, reasons of being evaluated as inappropriate was that they didn't have any practical suggestions and proper intakes. There were also insufficient explanation for technical terminology, different comparison standard of nutritive value, and exaggeration for physiological effect of food. The drama contained a lot of unnecessary scenes of alcohol drinking, coffee drinking, midnight meal, and had more quantity of foods than the quantity needed for persons to the scene. As the result of this study, the rate of food and nutrition information were high, but the rate of information which was evaluate as appropriate was not sufficient. There are need to improve contents of information and to moniter the contents for consumer.
