1.The Effects Of Thermocycling On The Bond Strength Between Cobalt-Chromium Alloy And Denture Base Resin.
The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2000;38(1):38-49
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of thermocycling on the shear bond strength of Co-Cr alloy to denture base resin. PMMA denture base resin such as heat-cured Vertex-RS , self-cured Vertex-SC and 4-META denture base resin such as heat-cured Meta-Dent , self-cured Meta-Fast was bonded to Co-Cr alloy. Samples were divided into 3 groups : no thermocycling group as control, thermocycling between 5degrees C and 55degrees C with 15 second dwell time as group 1, thermocycling with 1 minute dwell time as group2. The shear bond strength was measured and the interface between metal and resin was observed by SEM. The results were as follows. 1. The shear bond strength decreased significantly according to thermocycling and dwell time(P<0.001). 2. The bond strength of Co-Cr alloy and 4-META denture base resin was significantly higher than that of Co-Cr alloy and PMMA denture base resin(P<0.001). 3. IN SEM, there was no gap in control group, but there was much and large gap in group 1, 2. The longer dwell times, the lower bond strength. PMMA denture base resin had more gap than 4-META denture dwell times, the lower bond strength. PMMA denture base resin had more gap than 4-META denture base resin in the interface. These results revealed that thermocycling decreased the bond strength between Co-Cr alloy and denture base resin and dwell time of thermocycling changed the effect of thermocycling. The results suggested that oral temperature change affect the bond strength of prosthesis.

Lidex' cream (Fluocinonide 0.05% in FAPG base) is a new fluorina, ted topical corticosteroid, and its clinical effect was assessed by applying topically three to four times daily to the lesions of 50 patients with a variety of inflamrnatory skin condi- tions. The results revealed excellent effect in 16 patients, moderate effect in 23 patients, slight improvement in 9 patients, and no effect in 2 patients. No unfavorable side effects were noted except blanching. The findings suggest that fluocinonide is an excelIent addition to the topical corticosteroid agents that are available for clinical use at the present time.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1976;14(3):197-200
Human wart diseases are benign skin tumors caused by viruses of the papova group which usually affect children and almost always regress until adulthood. Various therapeutic modalities have been tried for the treatment of warts, however there is no single satisfactory method and the clinical course as well as the prognosis is always variable. The spontaneous regression of warts may represent an increase in the activity of host immune responses. Recent studies have tended to confirm that serum antiviral antihodies and cellular immune responses occur in relation to regression of warts, but there is no convincing evidence of a correlation between the appmrance of immune responses and resolution of the warts. BCG and some of similar extra, cts have becn known to be capable of initiating a wide range of non-specific immune reactions to cancerous diseases. The aim of the present investigation has been to study no-specific irnmune response of Tubercin-3 in patients with svarts, based on the findings that RCG and some of similar extracts were found to be a potent reticuloendothelial stimulant. Taventy casee attending a, dermatolo-ical out-ptient department consists of eight verrua plana juvenilis, seven verruca vulgaris, one verruca plxntaris and four molluscurn contagiosum were trezted with Tubercin-R. The results revealed complete cure in six(37. 5.) and clinical improvemeat in nine. (56. %) of sixteen cases of various warts, and one of four czses of molluscum contagiosurn showed a slight decrea,se in size and nu!nber of the lesions. There is no eviclence of a correlation among the age of patient, type of verruca and therapeutic effect. On the basis of our findings, we can state that non-specific immune response of BCG .and some of similar extracts may be facilitate the involution of warts. The relationship of thes immune respons to the involution of warts clezrly require further study.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1994;28(1):73-78
Lhermitte-Duclos disease of the cerebellum manifests itself as a slowly growing mass formed by abnormal neurons that appear more malformative than tumoral. Although most cases show satisfactory clinical evolution, several cases, not recognized in life, died abruptly, usually from respiratory arrest. We recently experienced a 19 year old male, who died suddenly during alcohol drinking. At autopsy, the cerebellum revealed thickening of the folia over two limited areas. Microscopically, the lesion was characterized by proliferation of abnormal neuronal cells with excessive myelination of their axons, disappearance of Purkinie cells and greatly reduced white mater. Theories regarding the pathogenesis of Lhermitte-Duclos disease were reviewed and discussed.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Several domestic dental implants have been developed since dental treatment being implants are increasing and popularized. However, they have not been used in domestic market like imported goods. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This study was carried out to compare domestic and imported implants in aspect of fitness, dental implant fixture and abutment screw using scanning electron microscope. All experiments were performed under dry condition. RESULTS: 1. Only in aspect of relation of dental implant fixture and abutment screw, except only one group with point contact, good fitness was existed. 2. Home products must presevere in their efforts, so as excellent to fit.

The authors report a case of ectopic paragonimiasis in a 33 year old Korean housewife who came to the hospital because of lower abdominal discomfortness and palpable mass. Parasitic granulomas involved the ovary and posterior wall of the uterine body. This report deals with the rare occurrence of a parasitic infestation in the ovary.
