Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(14):1080-1082
To investigate the clinical manifestation, clinicolpathological diagnosis and treatment of Castleman disease (CD) in the neck. The data of 2 patients with CD in the neck were reviewed retrospectively, together with literature summary, in order to analyze its clinical manifestation, pathological characteristics, clinical and pathological types, imaging characteristics and treatment. Two cases presented as solitary, painless neck masses and met the criteria of localized CD, and also had histological evidence of the hyaline vascular variant. Complete surgical resection was the first choice of treatment. One patient was alive without evidence of recurrence for ten years. The another patient had masses recurred in the neck one month after operation and followed to undergo curative chemotherapy, no recurrence in one-year follow-up. CD in the neck is a rare disease. The diagnosis for the disease is mainly based on pathological examination. Surgical resection is the main treatment, if necessary, need combination with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

2.Role and action mechanisms of FZD5 in prostate cancer bone metastasis in mice.
National Journal of Andrology 2016;22(2):128-132
OBJECTIVETo investigate the action mechanisms of the FZD5 gene in prostate cancer bone metastasis and search for some new treatments for this disease.
METHODSWe determined the expression level of the FZD5 gene in prostate cancer PC3 cells and, after transfection of siRNA into the PC3 cells and silence of the FZD5 gene, observed the changes in the migration and proliferation of the cells. We established the model of prostate cancer bone metastasis by tibial injection of prostate cancer cells in the nude mice. Then we injected control siRNA and FZD5-silenced siRNA into the tibia of the mice followed by evaluation of tumor-induced bone destruction by X-ray imaging at 0, 1, and 3 weeks and by HE staining at 3 weeks after injection.
RESULTSAfter transfection of FZD5-silenced siRNA into the prostate cancer PC3 cells, the expression of the FZD5 gene was decreased about 70%. The rate of cell proliferation was significantly lower in the gene silencing group than in the control (P < 0.05), and that of cell migration dropped by 30% in the former as compared with the latter group at 48 hours after FZD5 silencing (P < 0.05). At 3 weeks after injection of control siRNA or FZD5-silenced siRNA into the tibia of the mice, osteolytic damage was observed in both groups, though less in the FZD5 silencing group, with only a few remaining bone trabeculae visible.
CONCLUSIONSilencing the FZD5 gene can reduce the migration and proliferation of prostate cancer cells, help to suppress bone metastasis and destruction, and thereby improve the survival rate and quality of life of the patients.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the anti-viral effects of Tongqiao zhike liquid against influenza A virus in vitro.METHODS:The inhibitive effect of Tongqiao zhike liquid administered by different ways against human influenza A virus(H3N2) in vitro and its time-effect relationship were assayed by crystal violet staining assay with ribavirin as positive control.RESULTS:Tongqiao zhike liquid showed a satisfactory comprehensive inhibitory effect against human influenza A virus as well as its proliferation after viral adsorption. It was found that Tongqiao zhike liquid had a weak effect in preventing viral adsorption and it had no direct antiviral effect. The inhibitory effect of low concentration of Tongqiao zhike liquid against influenza A virus weakened time-dependently,while at high concentration its anti-viral ability remained stable.CONCLUSION:Tongqiao zhike liquid has a satisfactory effect against human influenza A virus in vitro.
7.Advances in lymphatic targeted drug delivery system for treatment of tumor metastasis
Journal of China Pharmaceutical University 2020;51(4):425-432
Lymphatic metastasis is one of the main routes of tumor metastasis. The limitation of traditional medicine in the treatment of lymphatic tumor metastasis lies in the low concentration of the drug in lymphatic metastases resulting in poor efficacy. Nanocarrier-based drug delivery system plays an important role in enhancing drug targeting, improving drug bioavailability, and reducing side effects. This review introduces the composition and function of the lymphatic system as well as its role in tumor metastasis, enumerates the present therapeutic means and limitations of anti-tumor lymphatic metastasis, and focuses on the recent advances in the passive, active and antigen-presenting cell-mediated lymphatic targeted drug delivery systems in tumor metastasis are highlighted.

To investigate the effects of low dosage of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitor Nc-nitro -L-arginine methyl ester ( L-NAME) in two-week treatment on the hyperdynamic circulatory state in rats with cirrhosis. METHODS: Cirrhosis model was induced in male SD rats by injection of 60 % CCL4 oily solution subcutaneously. Cirrhotic rats were treated with L-NAME ( 0.5 mg·kg-1·d-1) by gavage for two weeks. Mean arterial pressure ( AP ), portal pressure(PP), cardiac output ( CO ), cardiac index ( CI ), splanchnic vascular resistance ( SVR ), splanchnic blood flow(SBF) and serum nitrite levels were determined in L-NAME-treated, L-NAME-untreated cirrhotic rats and controls by using 57Co-labled microsphere technique and a fluorometric assay, respectively. RESULTS: Untreated cirrhotic rats had significantly lower MAP, SVR and higher PP, CO, CI, SBF and nitrite concentration than those of the controls (all,P< 0.01 ). In treated cirrhotic rats, L-NAME significantly attenuated the increase of CO, CI, SBF, nitrite concentration and the decrease of MAP and SVR. In treated cirrhotic rats, L-NAME induced a marked decrease of nitrite concentration than untreated cirrhotic rats[(1.471±0.907)μmol/L vs (4.204±1.253) μmol/L, P<0.01]. CONCLUSION: The endogenous NO may play an important role in the changes of hemodynamics pattern in cirrhosis, and hyperdynamic circulatory state in rats with cirrhosis can be ameliorated by oral two-week administration of lower dose of L-NAME.
