Objective To explore the effects of low energy intravenous He-Ne laser irradiation of blood (ILIB) on cell proliferation, apoptosis and genotoxicity of lymphocytes in patients with cerebral infarction (CI). Methods The lymphocytes in peripheral blood in patients with CI were sampled before and after treatment and cultured, and then, some parameters such as the mitosis index (MI), cell cyclical kinetics index (CCKI), sister chromatid exchanges frequencies (SCEF) and apoptosis were analyzed in order to explore the effects of ILIB on lymphocytes. Results The proliferative activities of lymphocytes were significantly increased by ILIB (P0.05). Objective To improve the diagnosis of multiple tuberculosis of bone and joints by analyzing its radiologic findings respectively .Methods 5 cases with multiple tuberculosis of bone and joints were all proved by pathology of them, there were 1 male and 4 female, the age ranged from 15 to 56 years old. X-ray films were all taken in 5 cases. Vertebral canal iodolography was performed in 1 case, 2 cases were undergone biopsy, and operation was done in 3 cases.Results Multiple bones in 5 cases were involved, including 3～5 bones. Of all cases, long bone and short bone were involved together in 3 cases, plat bone and vertebra were involved together in 1 case, long bone, plat bone and vertebra were simultaneously involved in 1 case. And 3 cases involved long bone and short bone simultaneously had pathosis in unilateral limbs, 2 cases involved plat bone had pathosis in bilateral. X-ray plain films demonstrated osteolytic destruction with slight sclerosis at the margin of partial destructive areas, which were round, oval or irregularity. There were soft tissue masses around the involved bones.Conclusion The multiple tuberculosis of bone and joint is of some clinic symptoms and X-ray features, but the confirmed diagnosis of which is entertained by biopsy and pathology.

To evaluate the application of intracavitary three-dimensional ultrasonography in the diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome ( PCOS). The three-dimensional volumes of ovary were measured by intracavitary ultrasonography in 40 PCOS patients and 40 normal controls. The diagnostic value of parameters derived from three-dimensional ultrasonography was evaluated by using the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. The ovarian volume, stromal volume, and the stromal/total volume ratio in PCOS group were significantly higher than those in control group (both P ＜ 0. 05 ) ; the area under ROC curve ( AUC ) of them were 0. 876, 0. 926, 0. 886 respectively. Among these parameters, stromal volume had the highest diagnostic value for PCOS, the cut-off value of which was 7.52 cm3 with a sensitivity of 88% and a specificity of 90%. Volume parameters of ovary measured by intracavitary three-dimensional ultrasonography can offer quantitative information for the diagnosis of PCOS.

Objective To investigate the application of slide pat and the prevention of secondary lesion when carrying injured patients.Methods 1 050 surgical cases were summarized retrospectively who undergoing X-ray examination with skull/vertebral/ lower limbs injured.The patient was moved on a special slide pat between bed and examining table with no change in body-position and the nursing staffs can keep the fracture stable with delicate and coordinated technique.Results No abnormal signs occurred when patients were carried on the special slide pat.Conclusion It is time-saving and labor-saving to move patients using slide pat.Because the changing times of body position are greatly reduced,so the patients are relieved and severe complication was prevented.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2008,29(2):86-87]

Objective To examine supine fulcrum pressurized radiograph to predict spinal flexibility in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Methods 1. Empirical study: put two points (A and B) on one side of the plastic stick and one point on the other side ( C), pressurize on the plastic stick when point C is in the middle of A and B, and then measure the projection shifting of point A. Repeat the pressure test when the distance between A and C doubled. Analyze the effect of increasing distance on diminishing pressure. 2.Clinical study :45 patients ( 16 males and 29 females) underwent standing anteroposterior radiograph ,fulcrum lateral flexion radiograph, supine lateral flexion radiograph. The Cobb's angles were measured and the flexibility ratio was determined on preoperative fulcrum radiograph. Results (1) If the length of A and C was 25 cm, pressurize on point C, when pressure quantitative scale number located 1 scale and 2 scale of the rule, projection shifting of point A were 5 cm and 10 cm. If the length of A and C was 50 cm, pressurize on point C, when pressure quantitative scale number located 1 scale and 2 scale of the rule, projection shifting of point A were 8 cm and 15 cm. The longer the distance, the lesser the pressure force of plastics stick. (2)The Cobb angles and curve flexibility provided by fulcrum lateral flexion radiograph had significant difference from that provided by supine lateral flexion radiograph in male group and female group. Cobb angles of male group was 28. 6°± 4. 1 °, 16. 7°± 4. 6° respectively (t= 7. 438, P ＜ 0. 01 )and curve flexibility was 47. 6% ±8. 1% ,69. 4% ± 8. 5% respectively( t = 7. 438, P ＜ 0. 01 ). Cobb angles of female group was 24.5°± 2. 7°,12. 6°±2. 4° respectively(t = 17. 540,P ＜0. 01 )and curve flexibility was 53.4% ±5.2% ,76. 0% ±4. 7% respectively(t = 17. 54, P ＜ 0. 01 ). The flexibility of spinal main curve of female patients was obviously higher than male patients. Conclusions Supine fulcrum pressurized technique can make up for the insufficiency of supine lateral flexion technique, and provide a convenient, safe, precise and useful method for evaluation of spinal flexibility in AIS.

Objective To investigate the current situation of iodine deficiency disorders and the effect of control measures in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and to provide a basis for making up targeted control measures for iodine deficiency disorders. Methods In 2012, proportional probability sampling method(PPS) was used to select 30 primary schools in seven counties of Changzhou City;50 students aged 8-10 in each school were randomly selected to examine thyroid, and their urine and household salt samples were collected to detect iodine. Thirty pregnant and 15 lactation women were selected to detect their urine iodine in the town where the school was located in. Two drinking water samples were collected to detect iodine in the village where the school was located in. The questionnaire survey of health education was carried out among the children and the housewives. Results A total of 1 500 children were surveyed, and the rate of goiter was 0.07%(1/1 500); the median of urinary iodine was 224.81 μg/L. Five hundred and seventy-two pregnant women and 328 lactation women were surveyed, and the median of urinary iodine was 148.93 μg/L and 147.48 μg/L, respectively. Fifteen hundred salt samples were detected, and the coverage rate of iodized salt was 99.47%(1 492/1 500); the edible rate of qualified iodized salt was 97.67%(1 465/1 500); and the median of salt iodine was 25.46 mg/kg. Sixty water samples were collected, and the median of water iodine was 3.63 μg/L. The health education awareness rates were 77.8%(2 100/2 700) and 88.0%(396/450) of students and housewives, respectively. Conclusion The control effect of iodine deficiency disorders is significant in Changzhou City, and monitoring of iodine nutrition level of special populations should be strengthened.

Objective: To understand the characteristics of injuries among rural children, and to determine the relationships between school-level factors with anxiety among injury-prone children, to provide a reference for making effective measures to prevent and control the injuries. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the Qingxin District of Qingyuan City. Six primary schools and middle schools were randomly selected from two towns. A total of 5 250 students in grades 3-9 were investigated. Students filled out the questionnaire themselves. Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED) was used to assess anxiety. Results: Among the 770 rural children who suffered injuries during the past year, the leading cause of injury was falling(44.62%), falling at home(29.61%), getting injuried in low limbs(29.45%), getting injuried by oneself (41.00%) and mainly unintentional injuries(68.66%) . About 35.06% of children reported anxiety symptoms. Approximately 14.94% of children were injury-prone type. Significant differences in educational stage, boarding school, fighting involvement, and somatization/panic between injury-prone children were found in control group(P<0.05). The robust Poisson-GEE model showed that primary school students in high grade and middle grade, fighting with classmates, somatic/panic associated with injury risk (PR value was 2.11, 1.75, 1.58 and 1.58, respectively). Conclusion Injury-prone children in rural are affected by school-level factors as well as anxiety symptoms. In addition to safety education, mental health promotion and prevention of school bullying should be adopted in schools.

From the time of Neijing (Internal Classic) and Nanjing (Classic of Medical Problems) till the end of Qing dynasty, the medical scholars of each dynasty had taken the recognition of deqi as the subject in the stud- ies. Through the historical analysis, the content of regulating deqi was further understood in relevant ancient liter- ature. By checking the ancient works of acupuncture in each dynasty till the end of Qing dynasty, in reference to the evidences in over 10 works, such as Zhenjiu Dacheng (Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion) , Zhenjing Zhinan (Instruction of Acupuncture Canon), Zhenjiu Daquan, and in association with the academic views of acupuncture masters in modern time, it was discovered that the medical scholars after the time of Neijing and Nanjing had enriched the understandings of deqi, such as the connection of cold and heat reaction, radiation to the affected site, reinforcing and reducing purpose in qi regulation. The methods of deqi regulations had, been explored till the end of Qing dynasty since the time of Neijing and Nanjing and the understandings of it were vari- ous among scholars.

Objective To explore the feasibility of using short-latency somatosensory evoked potentials (SLSEP) to quantitate Deqi.Methods A randomized crossover controlled trial was carried out. Healthy subjects were enrolled and allocated to treatment (thick needle, deep insertion and manipulation for Deqi) and control (thin needle, shallow insertion and no manipulation without Deqi) groups. Somatosensory evoked potentials were recorded before, during and after acupuncture. Deqi was assessed using the score scale in the subjets. The effects of Deqi and no Deqi at point Sanyinjiao (SP 6) on the potentials were observed.Results The preliminary exploration of the feasibility by the trial test showed that the effect of Deqi on short-latency somatosensory evoked potentials had certain regularity. It was worthy to be observed.Conclusion The plan is feasible. The formal test can be conducted.
