AIM To develop a simple reasonable and provable model of hypophysis shut off in rats with dexamethasone. METHODS Dexamethasone 6 mg?kg -1 was injected subcutaneously into two groups of rats at 3:00~3:30 pm on the preceding day. This dose was repeated at 9:00~9:30 am next day. The control group was treated with saline in the same way. One hour later, one of the dexamethasone treated groups was ig with Z47 200 mg?kg -1 , the other dexamethasone treated group and the control group was ig with 0 5% CMC. Then all the groups were ip with 0 086 mol?L -1 HAc in order to generate stress reaction. The reduction of the content of Vit C in adrenal gland was taken as the index of secretion of ACTH. RESULTS The content of Vit C in NS CMC HAc was obviously lower than in Dex CMC HAc group. There were statistically significant differences ( P

Objective To explore the expression characteristic of T regulatory cell (Treg)/T help cell (Th)17 and the correlation to disease progression in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients undergoing antivirus treatment, and to explore their roles in pathogenesis of CHB.Methods A total of 53 patients with CHB (CHB group) and 21 healthy controls (healthy control group) were selected,CHB patients included mild 18 cases, moderate 16 cases and severe 19 cases. The expression of Treg and Th17 were detected by flow cytometry and compared. The levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT),total bilirubin (TBIL),cholinesterase, albumin were measured by automatic biochemical machine and for correlation analysis. Results The levels ofTh17,Treg,Treg/Th17 were (2.13 ± 0.65)%,(2.99 ± 0.68)% and (6.07 ± 1.18)%,(5.14 ± 0.96)% and 2.86 ± 0.67,1.73 ± 0.45 in CHB group before and after treatment for 24 weeks and (3.59 ± 0.75)%,(4.02 ± 0.77)%,1.04 ± 0.34 in healthy control group. There were significant differences (F =14.78,10.12,17.19; P < 0.01).The level of Th17 in mild, moderate and severe CHB was gradually decreased, but there was no significant difference (F =1.10,P =0.337).The level of Treg in mild, moderate and severe CHB patients was gradually increased, but there was no significant difference (F =0.54,P =0.585).The level of Treg/Th17 was gradually increased with aggravation (2.58 ± 0.59,2.76 ± 0.63,3.21 ± 0.71),and there was significant difference (F =3.15,P < 0.01),the level of Treg/Th17 in severe CHB patients was significantly higher than that in mild, moderate CHB patients (P <0.05).The level of Treg/Th17 had significantly positive correlation with ALT,TBIL (r =0.272,P=0.000; r =0.226,P=0.000).Conclusion Treg/Th17 balance not only relates with the pathogenesis of CHB,but also with the related immune inflammatory of liver tissue.

It is very frequent that patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty ( TKA) suffer a severe pain from the bone cutting and soft tissue balance procedures postoperatively .In addition , pain control is the key point of the rehabilitation after surgery . Therefore, establishing an effective method to decrease the pain should be considered as a priority .Femoral nerve block (FNB), as a common and effective peripheral nerve block after TKA , affects the strength of quadriceps femoris and the postoperative recovery . Adductor canal block (ACB), targeting at the saphenous nerve , is proved to be as effective as FNB in pain control , and has less influence on the quadriceps strength .However , considering about the short time following up , the expansion of local anesthesia drug and few reports in China , the application of ACB in TKA needs further study .

Objective To explore the effects of balloon dilatation on esophageal motility in patients with achalasia. Methods Forty eight patients were diagnosed as having achalasia by clinical features, barium radiography, endoscopy and esophageal manometry (PC polygraf HR, Medtronic). The following parameters were evaluated: the symptom score, the maximal width of the esophagus (MWE) on barium radiography, lower esophageal sphincter pressure (LESP), lower esophageal sphincter relaxation rate (LESRR) and the contraction amplitude of esophageal body before and after dilatation at 4 weeks and 12~24 weeks. Results (1) Parameters of symptom score and the maximal esophagus width were significantly decreased ( P

Objective To establish a suitable formulation for the dispersible tablets of breviscapinum. Methods The preparative process was scanned out by single factor test and orthogonal design. A comprehensive scoring analysis was performed with disintegrating time and rigidity as the indexes. Results The demonstration for the dispersible tablets from the optimized formulation, being totally disintegrated within three minutes and sifted through the sieve in size of the 2nd,show better dissolubility in-vitro in comparison with the common tablets and their quality meets with the requirement for the dispersible in Phamarcopoeia of the People's Republic of China. Conclusion The formulation screened out for the dispersible tablets of breviscapinum is suitable for the production on a large scale.

AIM: To study the molecular biological mechanism and signal transduction pathway of interleukin-1? (IL-1?)-induced apoptosis in A375-S2 melanoma cells. METHODS: Photomicrocropy showed typical apoptotic changes. The cytotoxic effect of IL-1? in vitro and influences of caspases in this effect were measured by MTT assay. The cytotoxicity of cells was assessed by LDH-based assay. Degradation of DNA was detected by agarose gel electrophoresis. RESULTS: The inhibitory effect of IL-1? on A375-S2 cell growth was in a dose and time-dependent manner, and cell death rate reached more than 90% at 72 h after treatment with 10~(-9)mol/L IL-1?. The inhibitors of caspase-family, -1, -3, -8, -9, and -10, partially blocked cell death at early stage. LDH assay showed that major IL-1?-induced cell death was apoptosis, and in a dose and time-dependent manner. Typical apoptotic DNA ladder was observed in agarose gel electrophoresis. CONCLUSION: IL-1? induced apoptosis in melanoma A375-S2 cells by activating caspase pathway. [

Objective: To compare pharmacodynamics properties between the extracts of Fructus Trichosanthis and Bulbus allii(water extraction, WE; ethanol extraction, EE). Methods: To establish model of normobaric hypoxia in mice with isoprenaline; determinated the coronary blood flow of isolated guinea pig heart and rabbits platelet aggregation induced by ADP in vitro. Results: EE was more effective than WE on the prolongation of survival time of mice; EE and WE significantly increased coronary blood flow and inhibited platelet aggregation at the same dose. Conclusion: At the same dose, the effect of EE is superior to WE.

AIM: To investigate the antitussive and antiasthmatic activities and diuretic activity of Morrus alba L. before and after being processed. METHODS: The antitussive and antiasthmatic activities in vivo (hypersensitivity) and in vitro (functional experiments) of Morrus alba L. before and after being processed were investigated. The diuretic activity of Morrus alba L. before and after being processed also were studied on rat and rabbit models. RESULTS: The processed Morrus alba L. could inhibite histamine-induced airway hypersensitivity. It's diuretic activity was lower but its antitussive activity was better. CONCLUSION: These results indicate that there are some differentes between Morrus alba L. before and after being processed in antitussive, antiasthmatic and diuretic activities. The diuretic activity of crude Morrus alba L. is superior to the processed Morrus alba L. But its antitussive and antiasthmatic activities are inferior to the processed Morrus alba L.
