PURPOSE: As comprehensive nursing care service has gradually expanded, it has become necessary to explore the various opinions about it. The purpose of this study is to explore the large amount of text data regarding comprehensive nursing care service extracted from online news and social media by applying a semantic network analysis. METHODS: The web pages of the Korean Nurses Association (KNA) News, major daily newspapers, and Twitter were crawled by searching the keyword ‘comprehensive nursing care service’ using Python. A morphological analysis was performed using KoNLPy. Nodes on a ‘comprehensive nursing care service’ cluster were selected, and frequency, edge weight, and degree centrality were calculated and visualized with Gephi for the semantic network. RESULTS: A total of 536 news pages and 464 tweets were analyzed. In the KNA News and major daily newspapers, ‘nursing workforce’ and ‘nursing service’ were highly rated in frequency, edge weight, and degree centrality. On Twitter, the most frequent nodes were ‘National Health Insurance Service’ and ‘comprehensive nursing care service hospital.’ The nodes with the highest edge weight were ‘national health insurance,’‘wards without caregiver presence,’ and ‘caregiving costs.’‘National Health Insurance Service’ was highest in degree centrality. CONCLUSION: This study provides an example of how to use atypical big data for a nursing issue through semantic network analysis to explore diverse perspectives surrounding the nursing community through various media sources. Applying semantic network analysis to online big data to gather information regarding various nursing issues would help to explore opinions for formulating and implementing nursing policies.

Purpose: To report two cases of cataract that progressed after COVID-19 mRNA vaccination.Case summary: Two patients visited our clinic with decreased visual acuity in the left eye that began after mRNA vaccine. A 40-year-old man visited our hospital with decreased visual acuity in the left eye that developed 1 week after injection of the second dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna ® ,Cambridge, UK). A 40-year-old woman visited our clinic with decreased visual acuity in the left eye that occurred on day 46 after the injection of the third dose of BNT162b2 (Pfizer ® , New York, NY, USA). Neither case had any relevant ophthalmic history, and there was no clear optic neuropathy or retinopathy on fundus examination. After phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation, the best-corrected visual acuity improved, and intraocular pressure has remained stable. Conclusions The possibility of cataract development or progression after COVID-19 mRNA vaccine injection should be considered.

Purpose: This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of subconjunctival bevacizumab injection after primary pterygium surgery. Methods: We performed a conjunctivo-limbal autograft after pterygium resection in 136 eyes of 128 patients with primary pterygium between December 2019 and July 2021. A subconjunctival bevacizumab injection of 2.5 mg (0.1 mL) was administered in the bevacizumab group but not in the control group (54 eyes of 48 patients). We compared pterygium recurrence rates between the two groups at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months after surgery. Results: Pterygium recurrence occurred in one eye (1.21%) in the bevacizumab group and five eyes (9.25%) in the control group. Additionally, fibrovascular tissue proliferation was suppressed in the bevacizumab group and no postoperative complications were observed. Conclusions Pterygium recurrence occurred in one eye (1.21%) in the bevacizumab group and five eyes (9.25%) in the control group. Additionally, fibrovascular tissue proliferation was suppressed in the bevacizumab group and no postoperative complications were observed.

Purpose: We investigated the the effect of wearing a loose mask on tear-film break-up time using cross-sectional and experimental methods. Methods: This was a comparative analysis of non-invasive tear-film break-up time (NIBUT) after wearing no mask, loose mask, and tight mask for 10 minutes each in 60 eyes with or without dry eye syndrome. NIBUT measurements were performed using a keratograph. Results: The NIBUT values were 7.53 ± 0.83 seconds, 6.19 ± 0.78 seconds, and 7.36 ± 0.68 seconds for the no mask, loose mask, and tight mask groups, respectively. There was no significant difference between the no mask and tight mask groups (ρ-value = 0.517), but the loose mask group had a significantly reduced NIBUT compared with the other groups (ρ-value = 0.013 and 0.022, respectively). Conclusions Wearing a loose mask reduced the tear-film break-up time regardless of the presence or absence of dry eyes and may cause or worsen dry eye symptoms.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting work-related musculoskeletal symptoms in farmers. Methods: In order to examine the factors affecting the musculoskeletal symptoms among farmers, data of ‘Occupational Disease Survey for Farmers’ was performed by the RDA(Rural Development Administration). Results: The odds ratio of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms among female farmers were 1.42(1.30-1.56) times higher than male farmers. The older aging and longer the agricultural work period, the higher odds ratio of musculoskeletal symptoms was shown. By major crops, all crop farmers showed higher odds ratio of musculoskeletal symptoms compared to rice crop farmers. As a result of examining the effective factors on the odds ratio of musculoskeletal symptoms by body parts, female farmers had higher odds ratio of musculoskeletal symptoms than male farmers by 1.38(1.26-1.51) times in waist, 1.58(1.44-1.74) times in knee, 1.32(1.05-0.67) times in hand/wrist, and 1.30(1.06-1.59) times in foot/ankle.By crops, animal husbandry farmers had higher odds ratio of musculoskeletal symptoms than rice crop farmers by 1.44(0.89-2.35) times in waist, and field crop farmers were 1.37(1.07-1.77) times higher in knee. Compared with rice crop farmers, odds ratio of the shoulder part the shoulder parts were 1.19(0.81-1.76) times higher in greenhouse crop farmers and 1.16(0.97-1.38) times higher in dry field crop farmers. Odds ratio of the hands/wrist parts were higher odds ratio of musculoskeletal symptoms than rice crop farmers by 1.69(1.00-2.87) times in greenhouse crop farmers. Conclusions The results of this study would help to select the group that needs to be managed first, and could be used as basic data for the development of customized musculoskeletal disorders prevention programs.

Objective: The disabled are in a blind spot for obtaining information on drugs, and the pharmacies’ counseling on drug use is centered on non-disabled people. Few studies have investigated the current statuses of drug use by type of disability. The purpose of this study is to understand the drug use by type of disability and by life cycle of visually impaired and hearing impaired in Korea. Methods: The study participants consisted of 16 people with visually impairments, 12 people with hearing impairments. One indepth interview was conducted per participant, and each interview was recorded and documented. Results: Common barriers against safe medication and medical service uses across disability types are ‘lack of consideration and service for the disabled, limited access to medical facilities due to disability, limited access to information regarding medication use, psychological anxiety about drug use and side effects, and inconvenience regarding COVID-19 epidemic. The specific factors were ‘difficulties in identifying proper medicines and following prescribed dosages’ in the case of visually impaired, and ‘problems with sign language interpretation system’ for the hearing impaired. Conclusion Disabled people are hindered from using medicines properly due to various factors. Based on the content derived from this study, it is necessary to eliminate the inhibition factors and devise specific measures for the safety of each type of disorder such as developing a method for medication counseling considering disabilities and establishing communication support systems.

Trichogerminoma is a rare neoplasm which was first described in 1992 and there is still controversy over its inclusion into the spectrum of trichoblastoma. A 79-year-old woman presented with a 5-year history of an asymptomatic nodule on the left posterior neck. Histologically, the lesion revealed a well-demarcated deep dermal nodule surrounded by a pseudocapsule. The tumor was composed of lobules with basophilic cells and some of the lobules displayed a distinctive pattern of densely packed 'cell balls' with peripheral condensation. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells showed zonal CK5/6 immunoactivity in contrast with the negatively stained 'cell balls'. These characteristics were compatible with the diagnosis of trichogerminoma. We report here on a rare case of a hair germ tumor called trichogerminoma.

PURPOSE: To compare the arterial and venous detection sites of triggering methods in contrast-enhanced-MR-venography (CE-MRV) for the evaluation of intracranial venous system. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 41 healthy patients underwent CE-MRV with autotriggering at either the cavernous segment of internal carotid artery with an inserted time-delay of 6 seconds (n = 20) or the superior sagittal sinus without any time-delay (n = 21). 0.1 mmol/kg gadolinium-based contrast material (Magnevist(R), Schering, Germany) was intravenously injected by hand injection. A sagittal fast-spoiled-gradient-echo-sequence ranging from one ear to the other was performed (TR/TE5.2/1.5, Matrix 310x310, 124 sections in the 15-cm-thick volume). 17 predefined venous structures were evaluated on all venograms by two neuroradiologists and defined as completely visible, partially visible, or none visible. RESULTS: The rate of completely visible structures were 272 out of 323 (84%) in the arterial triggering CE-MRV and 310 out of 340 (91%) in the venous triggering CE-MRV. The venous triggering CE-MRV demonstrated an overall superior visualization of the cerebral veins than the arterial triggering CE-MRV (Fisher exact test, p < 0.006). CONCLUSION: CE-MRV using venous autotriggering method provides higher-quality images of the intracranial venous structures compared to that of arterial.

This article describes the orthodontic treatment of a 25-year-old Korean female patient with anterior crowding, including palatally displaced lateral incisors. Her facial profile was satisfactory, but 3.5 mm of maxillary anterior crowding was observed. To correct this crowding, we decided to minimize the use of the conventional fixed orthodontic appliances and employed a less bulky and more aesthetic appliance for applying light continuous force. We determined the final positions of the maxillary teeth via a working model for diagnostic set up and achieved space gaining and alignment with simple Ni-Ti spring and stainless steel round tubes. Tooth alignment was achieved efficiently and aesthetically without the conventional brackets.
