1.Bone scan for diagnosis of metastasis induced bone cancer
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1999;233(2):54-57
During 1994-1997, the nuclear medicine department of Cho Ray hospital diagnosed clinically 1938 patients with the cancer and implemented the scintigraphy to discover the metastasis. 816 patients with the cancer with the high risk of metastasis including the breast cancer, vaginal cancer, lung cancer, prostate gland cancer and thyroid cancer which arranged as kind of cancer and age. The bone scintigraphy help classifying the cancer with metastaisi and the comparision of the rate of metastasis into bone in this study with this rate reported by the Utrecht University of Ha Lan.

2.Clinical and paraclinical feature of mumps with testitis
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):57-59
A study on 97 patients with mumps and testitis in the Institute of Clinical medicine and Tropical Diseases during 2001-2002 has shown that ages of 10-50, fever pain in the jaw angle, nodes in the jaw angle, parotitis, testitis. Symptoms when occuring testitis: returned high fevers, swollen and pain in the testis, red in scrotum skin, paraclinical features included leucocyte

3.Some hematological and biochemical changes in patients with hepatic coma due to the viral hepatitis
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):38-42
A study on 105 patients diagnosed as hepatic coma due to the viral hepatitis in the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Tropical Diseases during 1989-1997 has shown that the rate of male patients was higher than this of female patients; most of cases were acute disease. The hepatic coma due to the viral hepatitis occurred mainly in ages of 15-45. The hepatic coma experienced the hyperuremia had apoor prognosis. The more low prothrombin, the more severer prognosis.

4.Determination of DNA of hepatitis B virus in the serum by PCR
Journal of Practical Medicine 2001;395(3):26-29
31 samples of sera from patients with hepatitis B or chronic hepatitis in Japan, were divided into 3 groups according to the status of HBsAg and HBeAg and implemented the PCR. The results have shown that PCR was more sensitive and specific than DNA diagnosis. The PCR can detect serum HBV DNA in the almost of patients with HBeAg (+). The serum samples with low efficacy of HBeAg or nagative HBeAg and negative HBVDNA showed the normal level of ALT at the same time.

5.The determination of ALPHA FOETO PROTEIN (AFP) and the correlation of AFP with hepatic functional tests in acute hepatitis B
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;430(9):20-22
An investigation were carried out on 42 patients of acute hepatitis B (male: 34; female: 8; age: 17-50) at Institute of Clinical Medicine and Tropical Diseases from May to Dec, 1997. Hematology biochemistry tests are determined. The results: the increased concentration of AFP in serum of acute hepatitis B patients (87,95 +/_ 12,89 ng/ml) in compared with normal person. The high level of AFP of 10ng/ml on 20/42 patients (47, 6%). There is a correlation of AFP level, transaminase with AST in the phases I and III and ALT in the phases III. AFP correlates with bilirubin TP during acute hepatitis.

6.Changes of the amount and rate of lymphocyte T in patients with acute or chronic hepatitis B and cirrhosis
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;430(9):7-10
A study on 105 patients in the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Tropical Diseases from 12/1997-1/1999 has shown that the lymphocyte TCD 3, TCD4 and TCD8 increased in patients with acute hepatitis B, these cells remained at normal level in patients with the chronic hepatitis B, there was an increase of lymphocyte TCD4 in patients with cirrhosis. The amount of lymphocyte was significantly reduced. The lymphocyte T in the patients with acute hepatitis B was higher than these in patients with chronic hepatitis B.

7.Circulate immunal complex and its relation with hepatic functional tests in the acute hepatitis B
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;430(9):32-36
Hepatitis B is a common disease in Vietnam; 15-20% of population carries HbsAg. The investigation of etiology and prognosis should consider the circulate immunal complex (CIC). A study on 65 patients with ages of 17-60 in the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Tropical Diseases during 1997-1998 has shown that the CIC in patients with acute hepatitis B was significantly increased comparing with this normal people. 63% of patients with acute hepatitis B experienced the increase of CIC 250. There was a relation between CIC and some hepatic functional tests in the same time.

8.Concentration of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) in the acute hepatitis B
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):128-15
19 patients (male: 17) with ages of 16-56 in the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Tropical Diseases participated to a study whose blood samples were measured the concentration of tumor necrosis factor - alpha (TNF-alpha), biochemical and hematological, immunological parameters. The results have shown that there was a high increase of TNF-alpha in patients with acute hepatitis B comparing with this in normal people. There was a correlation between the TNF-alpha and SGOT within the first 2-3 months of disease. There was a correlation between TNF-alpha and SGPT in the second months of disease. There was indirect proportional between the TNF-alpha and serum total bilirubine in the second months of disease.

9.Some clinical and laboratory features of HIV/AIDS infected persons in Ha Noi City.
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;430(9):89-92
The study was carried out in Ha Noi City from 1996 to January 2001 and involved 126 patients who were positive to HIV1. The results showed that HIV infection is most common in persons who are between 16 to 30 years old (77.78%). Among these, males are 94.45% and females are 5.55%. Drug injected users account for 70.63%. 4.76% of these persons have infection through sex relationship with prostitutors, 2.38% have infection via sex relationship with husband/wife. 98 out of 126 patients have clinical symptoms. The common symptoms are large lymphatic node, fever, cough, dermatitis, diarrhea and weight loss. There was decrease in RBC and hematocrite. Immunosuppressive condition results in opportunity infections, in which tuberculosis is commonest. Chest X-ray should be performed early to detect this condition.

10.Cellular immunity in HIV patients living in community of some districts in Hanoi
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;439(1):17-19
Two groups of subjects: control group composes of 39 healthy persons, aged 22-26 (26 males, 13 females) with HIV negative; patient group: 245 HIV patients living in community of 6 districts in Hanoi. Infected patients are mainly in adult 16-50 years old, the most common are in 21-30 (65.3%) years old, 90.6% are male. Lympho cell count decreased, TCD4 count and its percent also decreased. In 21.6% patients, the count of TCD4 < 200/mm3. TCD8 count and its ratio increased. Ratio of TCD4/TCD8 decreased. Occasional infected patients occupied 7.8%, the most commonly infected is tuberculosis 57.9% then zona 15.8%, syndrome of asthenia 10.5%
