1.Health status and working environment with visual display terminal users
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(5):28-30
Health status and working environment with visual display terminal users. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between health status (musculoskeletal problems and eyes discomfort) and the condition of work with visual display terminal (VDT). It was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire with two groups:VDT-user (group A:103 workers) and non. VDT user (group B:114 workers). Result: The temperature, humidity, air velocity in working room were good. The noise was higher in comparision with standard of Vietnam. The prevelences of musculoskeletal complaints in various body parts were neck (46.6%), low back (45.63%) shoulder (74.75%), wrist (57.28%). Risk of musculoskeletal complaints were more related to unfavorable working postures. Hand and wrist problems were more affected by repetitive movements. Prevalence of visual complaints was tiredness of eyes: 80.85%, eyes-ache 75.23%

2.Study on isolation of two components with biological activities from the Species of sponge Dysidea cinerea collected from Ha Long maritime area
Pharmaceutical Journal 2005;0(1):10-12
Dys-1 and Dys-2 compounds were isolated and determined structure from extracts of n-hexane and dichloromethane of sponge Dysidea cinerea by normal and reverse phases of silica gel column chromatography. Dys-1 is a white crystallized agent. Through data and reference materials, the agent is determined as Isofucosterol (24-Stigmasta-5, 24(24')-dien-3β-ol). Dys-2 compound is a crystallized agent with crystal of white needle form. The compound is determined as 5, 8- epidioxycholest-6--en-3-ol. It is cyto-toxic against three tumor cell lines in human such as epithelium cancer, liver cancer, and uterus membrane cancer

3.The progress and immunity response to HIV/AIDS in Cao Bang and the struggle against this epidemic
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;439(1):19-22
Cao Bang is a mountainous province in North frontier, with a population of 482.839 persons in 12 districts and towns, 186 communes. The first case of HIV infection was detected in 1997 and in Nov.2002 there were 577 cases. The most common patients are young persons (79,53%). 95,66% are men . The education for HIV/AIDS control was developed continuously in mass media but it was not proper, the couselling and self-examination was low efficacy. The care, management and treatment for HIV/AIDS patients were limited. It must strengthen the quality of HIV/AIDS control education and profession practice. For HIV/AIDS control a proper policy and big ressources are necessary

4.To review 250 cases of large corneal transplantation in 1985-1997 year period
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;480(5):57-59
From the year 1985 – 1997, 250 cases of corneal transplatation were reviewed. The diameter of grafted cornea varied from 8-15mm, among them 113 cases of graft larger than 10mm. After the operation, visual acuty was improved in almost patients. In the case of internal therapy is impossible, this surgery is the only approach to save the eyeball, moreover, the optical function was restored significantly. In the case of progressive infection, which is not responded to the therapy, threatening the eyeball corneal transplantation must be indicated early.

5.Working environment and health among tunnel construction workers working in Central Region from 2001 to 2003
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(3):25-28
A study of working environment and health on 600 tunnel construction workers working in Central Region from 2001 to 2003 showed that: the working environment at the construction site was severely polluted with more than 60% of measured experiment samples were higher than the standard level. The deeper the tunnel is, the more severe the pollution is. The temperature, humidity, toxic gases (CO, CO2, and NO2), noise and dust tend to increase. The circulation speed of air, illumination power and level of O2 tend to decrease. The health of workers had a decrease tendency in the three year period. The common diseases are tooth, jaw and face diseases, ear, nose and throat diseases, circulation disease, eye diseases and eye related problems. The rate of work related accident reduced, mortality rate was 0.99%; the main causes leading to accidents at work were rock fall, fall, and mechanical devices; in work related accidents, the rate of soft tissue injury was high

6.Assessment of the activities of daily living in hemiplegics after stroke
Journal of Medical Research 2003;0(2):54-59
This study is an evaluation of functional capacity after stroke with special emphasis on activities of daily living. In this study there were 269 patients after stroke living in 5 provinces (Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh) where have been implemented CBR programme sposored by AIFO (Italy). The crieria of evaluation were following the Barthel index scoring. It found that independent level in ADL is 46.84%. There is no difference of ADL in two sides of affected one age seemed to have an effect on the recovery of patients with moderately severe and severe impairment. The younger patients showed greater improvement than older ones with equivalent impairment.

7.Study on application of spreading cellules to investigate on skin absorption possibility of drug from TTS - nitroglycerin
Pharmaceutical Journal 2005;0(5):23-25
The researchers built targets and way to handle skin and built quantitative method notroglucerin by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and quantitative method total nitroglucerin content in sticking-plaster Discotrin 36mg with area of 13,3cm2. The study was carried out in 6 samples and average with RSD = 0,47%, from there find out exactly nitroglycerin level on 1cm2 to evaluate permeation of nitroglycerin through skin in different temperatures ( 41oC, 37oC, 25oC). The result showed that the higher temperature, the more Nitroglycerin is permeated. The permeation of nitroglycerin through skin is defferent in each animal

8.Preliminary study on manufacture process of transdermal patch of nitroglycerin
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;321(1):15-18
Nitroglycerin, a vasoactive substance, has been used in the treatment of vagina for more than 100 years. To sustain the pharmaceutical effect, doses were administered every 2 hours. Recently the transdermal delivery systems have became popular. Based on eudragit E 100, we combined it with plasticizer (dibutyl sebacate/triethyl citrate), crosslinker (succinic acid), active ingredient (nitroglycerin) and further excipients (e.g. permation enhances: ethyl alcohol) to form a self adhesive matrix system for use in nitroglycerin patch. The concentration of nitroglycerin in the patch was determined by HPLC assay

10.Arrhymias in hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) patients by 24-hour Holter ECG
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2005;0(3):15-21
The study on 24-hour ambulatory eclectrocardiographic monitoring for 74 hypertensive patients (34 had LVH) without coronary heart disease, diabetes and 34 normal people, the groups were matched for age, sex, BMI, risk factors. Results: the frequency of supraventricular, ventricular arrhythmias and complex ventricular arrhythmias (Lown grade 3-5) in hypertensive patients, especially hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy patients, were significantly higher than in control group. Arrhymias in hypertensive patients were associated with age, LVM. The hypertension increased the risk of supraventricular arrhythmias by 7.2 folds, ventricular arrhythmias by 7.4 folds. The hypertension with LVH increased the risk of ventricular arrhythmias by 4.04 folds, especially increased the risk of complex ventricular arrhythmias to 7.6 folds in comparison with hypertension without LVH
