Objective To analyze the profile of dermcidin (DCD) changes in different stages of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) by quantifying the serum 4 183Da DCD peptide fragment deriving from different ACS patients treated with early antithrombotic therapy. Methods A total of 118 patients with confirmed diagnosis of ACS were enrolled. Immediately after visiting a doctor, the venous blood was collected and afterwards instantly the patient was given orally 300 mg of aspirin and 300 mg clopidogrel, and according to the patient's condition and the consent of his/her or acknowledgement of family members achieved, emergency percutaneous coronary interference (PCI) or thrombolysis or conservative treatment was adopted separately. After anti-thrombotic treatment, at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 24, 32, 40, 48, 60 and 72 hours, venous blood was collected and serum isolated respectively. The concentration of 4 183Da DCD fragment in serum was determined by matrix assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS). Simultaneously, the myoglobin (Myo), cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase (CK-MB) were also detected. Results The mean relative strength of nature logarithmic transformations of 4 183Da DCD fragment of 118 patients with ACS was 2.75±1.02 before treatment on admission, and after intervention therapy (mainly antithrombotic therapy) it was decreased to 1.84±1.19 (P = 0.005) and 1.74±1.12 (P = 0.000) at 2 hours and 4 hours, respectively, and then after 4 hours it was slightly elevated. 4 183Da polypeptide increased earlier than myocardial injury markers. Conclusion Aspirin and clopidogrel can significantly decrease the concentration of 4 183Da DCD peptide fragment in serum in patients with ACS, which indicates that the DCD fragment could be used as one of the indexes for observation on early efficacy of antithrombotic therapy.

The aim of the present study was to investigate the diagnostic value of the contrast-enhanced ultrasonography for gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). The conventional transabdominal ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography using an intraluminal contrast agent were performed in 66 cases. The different diagnostic value between conventional transabdominal ultrasonography and contrast-enhanced hydrocolon ultrasonography was compared, including the depiction ratio and location accuracy. The morpholpgical features of GISTs were observed. The sensitivity of the contrast-enhanced hydrocolon ultrasonography in the depiction of the GISTs (57/66, 86.4%) was higher than that of the conventional transabdominal ultrasonography(33/66, 50%, P<0. 05). Furthermore, the accuracy of the contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in the location of the GISTs (52/57, 91. 2%) was higher than that of the conventional transabdominal ultrasonography (13/33, 39. 4%, P<0. 05). The GISTs with higher or lower risk have different ultrasonic features. The contrast-enhanced ultrasonography was a more valuable diagnostic method for GIST than the conventional transabdominal ultrasonography.

OBJECTIVE:
To treat superficial hemangioma in children according to the local blood flow.
METHODS:
A total of 98 children with superficial hemangiomas admitted to our hospital from January 2005 to June 2009, and their clinical data were analyzed.
RESULTS:
According to the local blood flow velocity, 98 children were treated with injections or injection plus surgical treatment, respectively. Ninety-four children (95.9%) were cured.
CONCLUSION
Injection therapy is effective for children with superficial hemangioma, but we should arrange individualized treatment according to the local blood flow in children.

Journal of International Oncology 2019;46(10):581-584
Objective:
To detect the expressions of epidermal growth factor-like domain 7 (EGFL7) and P185 protein in breast cancer tissues and serum, and to analyze the correlation between the expression levels of EGFL7 and P185 in tissues and clinicopathological parameters of breast cancer patients.
Methods:
Sixty patients with breast cancer in Hunan Cancer Hospital from March 2016 to March 2018 were collected as observation group, and 60 patients with breast benign lesions in the hospital during the same period were selec-ted as control group. The expressions of EGFL7 and P185 protein in tissues of patients in the two groups were detected by immunohistochemical two-step method, and the levels of EGFL7 and P185 protein in serum of patients in the two groups were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The relationships between the expressions of EGFL7 and P185 protein and clinicopathological parameters of breast cancer patients were analyzed.
Results:
The positive rates of EGFL7 in tissues in the observation group and the control group were 65.00% (39/60) and 28.33% (17/60), and there was a significant difference between the two groups (

OBJECTIVES:
This study evaluated the prognostic power of serum uric acid (UA) in predicting adverse events in elderly acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients with diabetes mellitus (DM).
METHODS:
The analysis involved 718 ACS patients >80 years old whose general clinical data and baseline blood biochemical indicators were collected prospectively from January 2006 to December 2012. These patients were classified into two groups based on DM status, and then followed up after discharge. The Kaplan-Meier method was used for major adverse cardiac event (MACE) rates and all-cause mortality. Multivariate Cox regression was performed to analyze the relationship between UA level and long-term clinical prognosis. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were analyzed to predict the cutoff value of UA in elderly ACS patients with DM. There were 242 and 476 patients in the DM and non-DM (NDM) groups, respectively, and the follow-up time after discharge was 40‒120 months (median, 63 months; interquartile range, 51‒74 months).
RESULTS:
The all-cause mortality, cardiac mortality, and MACE rates in both DM and NDM patients were higher than those in the control group (
CONCLUSIONS
Serum UA level is a strong independent predictor of long-term all-cause death and MACE in elderly ACS patients with DM.
