Objective To investigate the diagnostic significance of bone marrow smear combined with bone marrow biopsy in pancytopenia.Methods The clinical data of 94 pancytopenia patients who were detected by bone marrow smear and bone marrow biopsy synchronously were retrospectively analyzed.Results In 94 pancytopenia patients,leukemia was in 29 cases (30.85％),myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS)was in 20 cases (21.28％),aplastic anemia (AA) was in 18 cases (19.15％),multiple myeloma (MM) was in 4 cases (4.26％),primary myelofibrosis (MF) was in 2 cases (2.13％),metastatic cancer was in 3 cases (3.19％),lymphoma in bone marrow infiltration was in 3 cases (3.19％),megaloblastic anemia (MA) was in 10 cases (10.64％),and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) was in 5 cases (5.32％).In 29 leukemia patients,acute myeloid leukemia-M2 (AML-M2) was in 5 cases,acute myeloid leukemia-M3 (AML-M3) was in 9 cases,acute myeloid leukemia-M5 (AML-M55) was in 6 cases,acute myeloid leukemia-M4 (AML-M4) was in 2 cases,acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) was in 3 cases,chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) was in 3 cases,and hairy cell leukemia was in 1 case.The diagnostic accuracy of bone marrow smear was 88.30％ (83/94),the diagnostic accuracy of bone marrow biopsy was 92.55％ (87/94),and the diagnostic accuracy of bone marrow smear combined with bone marrow biopsy was 98.94％ (93/94).The diagnostic accuracy of bone marrow biopsy was higher than that of bone marrow smear,but there was no statistical difference (x2 =0.89,P ＞ 0.05).The diagnostic accuracy of bone marrow smear combined with bone marrow biopsy was higher than that of bone marrow smear,and there was statistical difference (x2 =8.70,P ＜ 0.01).There was no statistical difference in the misdiagnosis rate between bone marrow smear and bone marrow biopsy:11.70％ (11/94) vs.7.45％(7/94),x2 =0.89,P ＞ 0.05.Conclusions The bone marrow smear combined with the bone marrow biopsy can improve the diagnostic accuracy of the blood system diseases,especially in pancytopenia,and has a very important diagnostic significance.It should be included in routine testing project.

MicroRNA is a type of endogenous noncoding small molecular RNA with a length of 19-25 nucleotides. MicroRNAs are involved in almost all key biological processes, such as cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and hematopoiesis, via repres-sion of target gene expression. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common type of pediatric cancer. It is a heterogeneous disease with different clinical signs, morphology, immunophenotype, and cytogenetics. Currently, several microRNAs have implicated aberrant expression in ALL and play an important role in cancer initiation and development. MicroRNA expression pattern is associated with clinical feature, prognosis, and treatment. Therefore, microRNAs could act as a novel marker to help scientists learn about the pathogenesis of ALL and to provide more effective treatment options.

Objective To access the clinical value of interstitial brachytherpay in patients with advanced carcinoma. Methods 6 patients(1 case of hepatic cancer,3 cases of prostate cancer,2 cases of local recurrence of rectal cancer)received interstitial high dose rate(Ir-192)brachytherpay with afterloading technique(6.0 Gy/day in 4 days) Tubes were inserted with laparoscopic guidance to minimize the risk of tube misplacement. Results The size of the tumors was reduced and the local control rate was encouraging(6/6). one patient with local recurrence of rectal cancer aquired CR,the ofher five cases acquired PR. Conclusions Interstitial tube insertion with laparoscopic guidance to treat advanced carcinoma in afterloading technique is a simple,minimally invasive,safe and economical method,especially fit for elder patients who intolerate or disagree to operation.

Objective To evaluate the clinical pathology meaning of atypical squamous cell of undetermined significance (ASCUS) in cervical cytology. Methods The clinical data of 2118 cases who underwent cervical liquid thin-prep cell test (TCT) were analyzed retrospectively, ASCUS and squamous epithelium (SIL) were diagnosed according to the classification of the data TBS cytology, the histopathological examination results were tracked. Results The incidence of ASCUS was 3.4% (72/2218), and the ratio for SIL ( 1.2%, 25/2118) was 2.9. In the cellular pathology of ASCUS, there were four aspects, atypical surface cells and atypical hollowed cells in 16 cases (22.2%), atypical atrophy of the squamous epithelial cells in 11 cases (15.3%), atypical mature or immature metaplastic cells 28 cases (38.9%), atypical cells less influence diagnosis 17 cases (23.6%). Tracking the histologic findings in 43 cases with chronic cervicitis 22 cases (51.2%), low level squamous epithelium neoplasia in 12 cases (27.9%), high levels of squamous epithelial change in 8 cases (18.6%), squamous cell carcinoma 1 case(2.3%). Conclusion ASCUS exists within the risk of squamous lesions, management should be strengthened.

Purpose:To determine the impact of serum tissue polypeptide specific antigen (TPS) in the treatment for advanced cancer patients. Methods:Serum TPS was examined in 60 advanced cancer cases. 42 of the patients received hepatic arterial chemoembolization or chemotherapy. For those with tumors derived from digestive system, TPS monitoring was performed in serial during the therapeutic courses. Results:No significant differentiation was observed in terms of age, gender, disease or tumor stage. Patients with initial TPS lower than 300 U/L had the most favorable response rate to treatment (PR,CR or MR) of 52.94%, while those with initial TPS higher than 1000 U/L showed no evidence of remission after therapy. 55.56% of the latter developed into PD ( P

ObjectiveTo evaluate the treatment strategy for patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and concomitant digestive system diseases (DSD) necessitating a surgery.Method From Mar. 1999 to Oct. 2001, clinical result of 6 cases suffering from concomitant AAA and DSD was reviewed. The AAA ranged from 4 8 to 11?cm in diameter. Cholecystectomy (for acute cholecystitis) and sigmoidectomy (for colonic cancer) were performed synchronously with AAA repair in 2 cases and 1 case respectively. Right semicolonectomy, radical subtotal gastectomy and esophagogastrectomy (all for carcinoma) were performed heterochronously with AAA endovascular exclusive grafting in one each patient, ResultGastric paresis developed postoperatively and recovered spontaneously in one patient. Esophagogastroanastomosis leakage caused a death in 1 patient. With follow up of 6～42 months the remaining 5 patients were alive, with no graft infection, nor cancer recurrence. ConclusionThe concurrent presentation of AAA and digestive tract diseases necessitating surgical intervention could be successfully managed synchronously or heterochronously.Endovascular exclusive graft of AAA is an effective therapy in patiens suffering from concomitant AAA and DSD.

Objective To further elaborate the clinical characteristics,diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of primary cutaneous invasive epidermo-tropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma.Methods The clinical characteristics,diagnosis and treatment of a patient with primary cutaneous invasive epidermotropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma were summarized,and diagnosis and treatment of the disease from published literature were reviewed.Results After one year long,recurrence of exudative maculopapule on his body and limbs,a middle-aged male patient visited our hospital.Then,the patient was diagnosed as T2N0M0 Ⅰ phase of primary cutaneous invasive epidermo-tropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma based on results of skin biopsy,immunohistochemistry,T-cell gene rearrangement and PET-CT.Through integrative medicine treatment (combination of bruceolic oil emulsion and chemotherapy with GDP regimen),the patient achieved complete remission (CR).The treatment and follow-up continues till now and his condition was stable.Conclusions Clinical occurrence of primary cutaneous invasive epidermo-tropic CD8 positive cytotoxicity T-cell lymphoma is rare and early diagnosis is difficult.It could be diagnosed with histopathology combined with T-cell gene rearrangement.In order to avoid misdiagnosis,great caution should be taken during disease history inquiry and physical examination,should be early lesion for delayed healing of recurrent lesions,biopsy should be conducted as soon as possible and immunohistochemistry should be performed simultaneously,which will provide a good basis for further treatment.

A spectrophotometric method for the determination of calcium in milk, hair and urine was developed using metal complezing dye orthocresolphth-alein complexone(OCPC).The organic matter in the tested sample was destroyed by digestion. An aliquot of the digested solution was mixed with color developing reagent, alkaline OCPC, cantaining 8-quinolinol to suppress interference such as magnesium, and the absorbance was measured at 570 nm.The coefficients of variation were 0.87, 3.6 and 1.2% for milk, hair and urine samples; and the analytical recoveries of calcium from milk, hair and urine averaged 100.4, 101.0 and 98.5% respectively. The calcium content of milk and hair determined by this method was closely correlated with that of the ICP-AES method (r =0.994, p
