Objective To investigate the association between interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) gene rs1343151 single nucleotide polymorphism and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in Chinese Han patients. Methods The genotypes of IL-23R SNP was detected in 104 Chinese AS patients and 95 ethnically matched blood donors by TaqMan probe assays. The allele and genotype frequencies and risk factors of AS were analyzed by Chi-square test in both groups. Results The rs 1343151 genotypes in AS patients consisted of homozygote C/C (90.4%),C/T (9.6%), while The rs1343151 genotypes in the controls were. composed of C/C (91.6%), C/T (8.4%). No significant difference was found in the distribution of rs1343151 genotypes between these two groups (x2=0.086, P>0.05). The frequency of rs1343151 allele in AS patients was also not significantly increased when compared with the control group (x2 =0.082,P>0.05). Conclusion There may be no association between the IL-23R gene rs1343151 SNP and ankylosing spondylitis in Chinese Hart population.

Objective To compare the clinical outcome of internal fixation(IF)and total hip arthroplasty (THA)for the elderly patients with displaced femoral neck fracture. Methods A total of 128 patients with dis-placed femoral neck fracture admitted from January 2010 to December 2012 were selected and divided into IF group(61 cases)and THA group(67 cases). The operation and hospitalization index were compared between the 2 groups. All patients underwent follow-ups after operation. The functional recovery scale for hip fracture (FRS) and EQ-5D index were applied to evaluate the clinical outcomes periodically. Results Compared to THA group, the intraoperative trauma ,operation time and bed days were less in IF group(P<0.05),however the incidence of complication in IF group was higher than that in THA group. All the patients were followed up more than 3 years and mortality rate between the 2 groups showed no significant difference(P>0.05). Follow-ups at all time points revealed hip function in THE group is better than that in IF group(P<0.05),while no significant difference was found in terms of life quality(P > 0.05). Within 3 years, the costs related to fracture were 41772 yuan for IF group and 61174 yuan for THA group respectively. Conclusion Both internal fixation and total hip arthroplasty can provide satisfactory outcome for elderly patients with displaced femoral neck fracture. Compared with IF ,THA causes bigger trauma and costs more ,but ends up with lower complication incidences ,and improve hip function in a shorter period.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the association of phenylethanolamine-N-methyl transferase (PNMT) G-390A genetic polymorphism with risk of essential hypertension (EH) in Changsha Han people.
METHODS:
A case-control association study was performed in 400 patients with essential hypertension (EH) and 388 normotensive subjects. PNMT G-390A was genotyped using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-FRLP).
RESULTS:
The genotype frequencies for the -390 GG, GA, and AA were 39.3%,50.0%, and 10.8%, respectively in EH patients, and were 43.6%,45.6%, and 10.8%, in normal subjects. No significant difference in either genotypic frequency (P=0.433) or allele frequency (P=0.378) of PNMT G-390A between EH patients and normals was observed. When by gender, there was significant difference in genotypic frequency (P<0.05) and allele frequency (P=0.046) of G-390A polymorphism between EH patients and normals in the male, but not in the female (P>0.05).
CONCLUSION
PNMT G-390A polymorphism is possibly associated with EH risk in male Chinese Han population in Changsha.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2021;42(1):96-99
Objective:
To explore the intrinsic mechanism of emotional intelligence and trait anger in the association between childhood psychological abuse and aggressive behavior among middle school students, and to provide a theoretical basis for intervention of aggressive behaviors.
Methods:
By using the multi-stage stratified random sampling method, 2 458 middle school students in Guizhou Province were selected, and group tests were carried out using psychological abuse scale, attack behavior scale, emotional intelligence scale and characteristic anger scale.
Results:
Agressive behavior, trait anger and emotional intelligence differed significantly by gender(t=2.19,5.12,-2.34,P<0.05), and there were significant differences in aggressive behavior, psychological abuse, emotional intelligence and trait anger among middle school students of different student origins by residence(t=-18.77,-6.04,9.10,-9.94,P<0.05). Childhood psychological abuse (r=0.41), temperamental trait anger (r=0.52) and reactive trait anger (r=0.49) were significantly positively correlated with aggressive behavior(P<0.05). Emotional intelligence was significantly negatively correlated with aggressive behavior (r=-0.33, P<0.05). The test of multiple mediation effects showed that emotional intelligence, temperamental trait anger and reactive trait anger played multiple mediation roles between psychological abuse and aggressive behavior in childhood.
Conclusion
Childhood psychological abuse could not only directly affect the aggressive behavior of middle school students, but also further affect the aggressive behavior through emotional intelligence and trait anger. Emotional intelligence and idiosyncratic anger are important internal mechanisms by which childhood psychological abuse affects aggressive behavior.

Objective:To investigate the types and number of symptom clusters in patients undergoing sphincter-preserving surgery for rectal cancer and explore the influencing factors of these symptom clusters. Methods:Totally 192 patients who underwent sphincter-preserving surgery for rectal cancer in the Department of General Surgery at Peking University Third Hospital between January 2021 and January 2023 were selected by convenience sampling. A general information questionnaire, Post-sphincter-preserving Surgery Symptom Questionnaire, and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF) were used for data collection. Results:A total of 192 questionnaires were distributed, with 159 valid questionnaires returned. Exploratory factor analysis on 18 symptoms with an incidence rate of over 10.0% identified five primary symptom clusters: the psychological symptom cluster, increased defecation cluster, fatigue-pain cluster, sleep disturbance cluster, and constipation-related cluster. Logistic regression analysis showed that postoperative duration was an influencing factor for the psychological symptom cluster ( P<0.05) ; preoperative radiotherapy and postoperative duration were influencing factors for the increased defecation cluster ( P<0.05) ; postoperative chemotherapy was an influencing factor for the fatigue-pain cluster ( P<0.05) ; and weekly sedentary time was an influencing factor for the sleep disturbance cluster ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Patients undergoing sphincter-preserving surgery for rectal cancer experience multiple symptom clusters. Preoperative radiotherapy and prolonged sedentary behavior increase the risk of symptom clusters, and different postoperative periods are associated with varying risks for different symptom clusters. However, physical activity levels do not appear to influence the occurrence of symptom clusters. Healthcare providers should implement targeted interventions based on the symptom clusters and their influencing factors to reduce the incidence of symptoms in patients.

Chinese Journal of Epidemiology 2024;45(8):1059-1065
Objective:To investigate the impact of air pollution on dynamic changes in lung function and further explore the association between genetic factors and lung function and its changes. Methods:Research data were from 14 506 participants in the United Kingdom Biobank with two complete baseline and follow-up lung function tests. Particulate matter [including particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter ≤2.5 μm and ≤10 μm (PM 2.5 and PM 10)], nitrogen dioxide (NO 2), and nitrogen oxides (NO x) concentrations were estimated using land-use regression models. Annual changes in lung function were calculated based on baseline and follow-up lung function tests. Polygenic risk scores (PRS) of lung function [forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV 1), forced vital capacity (FVC), and the ratio of FEV 1 to FVC (FEV 1/FVC)] were constructed by genetic variations. The association between air pollution concentrations and lung function changes was analyzed by multiple linear regression models, and the impact of genetic factors on lung function and its changes was also assessed. Results:PM 2.5, PM 10, NO 2, and NO x showed a negative correlation with FVC changes [PM 2.5: -6.66 (95% CI: -9.92- -3.40) ml/year; PM 10: -0.40 (95% CI: -0.77- -0.03) ml/year; NO 2: -1.84 (95% CI: -2.60- -1.07) ml/year; NO x: -1.37 (95% CI: -2.27- -0.46) ml/year]. Additionally, PM 2.5, PM 10and NO 2 were also negatively correlated with changes in FEV 1 [PM 2.5: -3.19 (95% CI: -5.79- -0.59) ml/year; PM 10: -3.00 (95% CI: -5.92- -0.08) ml/year; NO 2: -0.95 (95% CI: -1.56- -0.34) ml/year]. PRS of lung function were positively correlated with baseline lung function (FVC, FEV 1, and FEV 1/FVC) and lung function changes (all β>0, all P<0.001). In different PRS stratification analyses, the effect of air pollution on lung function changes remained significant, and there was no apparent heterogeneity. Conclusions:PRS of lung function are significantly associated with baseline and lung function changes. Long-term exposure to air pollution accelerates the decline of lung function indicators such as FVC and FEV 1. The effects of air pollution are consistent in individuals with different genetic risk scores.

Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2024;23(8):1123-1126
Due to traditional professional divisions, the practice of endoscopy by gastro-intestinal surgeons in China remains controversial. However, with the evolution of treatment philo-sophies, medical technology, and equipment advancements, a trend of integration between tradi-tional surgery and endoscopy is emerging. Gastrointestinal surgeons performing endoscopy can maxi-mize patient benefits, and they naturally possess advantages in conducting endoscopic procedures. It is recommended to further establish entry thresholds for surgeons to perform endoscopy, provide standardized endoscopic training for surgeons, and coordinate efforts at the administrative depart-ment. With the support of artificial intelligence, more patients can receive minimally invasive, indivi-dualized, and precise treatments.

Objective:To explore the effect of mobile health (mHealth) management system on dietary behavior of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) .Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, CHD patients who were hospitalized in Department of Cardiology of Beijing Anzhen Hospital and Beijing Chaoyang Hospital of Capital Medical University were selected as the research objects from June 2019 to January 2020. The research objects were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group using SAS software. Finally, 68 cases in the intervention group and 66 cases in the control group completed the study. The intervention group received mhealth management, while the control group received routine management, and they were followed up to 1 month after discharge. The proportion of patients with the low-salt and low-oil diet, the intake of salt, oil, staple food, vegetables, fruits, fish, shrimp, poultry and eggs, BMI and blood pressure were compared between the two groups. Results:At 1 month follow-up, the intervention group was better than the control group in terms of low salt and low oil diet, salt intake, oil intake and vegetable intake compliance, and the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05) . At 1 month follow-up, there were no statistically significant differences in BMI and blood pressure between two groups ( P>0.05) . Conclusions:The mobile health system can effectively increase the proportion of patients with a low-salt and low-oil diet, and improve the intake compliance of salt, edible oil and vegetables in patients with CHD. In future studies, the intervention time should be extended to further explore the long-term intervention effect of mobile health and give full play to the role of mobile health in continuous behavior management of patients with CHD after discharge.
