Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(17):-
This summary is aimed to study the virtue, operative technique and curative effect for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation (LIDH) using self-fixation intervertebral disc endoscopy. A total of 520 LIDH patients accomplishing nucleotomy with self-fixation intervertebral disc endoscopy were adopted in the experiment, including 340 males and 180 females. Their courses of disease arranged from 4 months to 10 years (17.6 months average),and follow-ups for 4-12 months. The curative effect was evaluated according to uniform standard. The curative effects were excellent in 455 cases, good in 53 cases, poor in 10 case, and the better effect rate reached 98.2%. Dura mater laceration and cerebrospinal fluid leak happened in 3 cases, coccygeal nerve damage resulting in leg numbness appeared in 1 case. Those cases all received operations at the early stage, and there were no similar complication or infection presenting in intervertebral gap. Self-fixation intervertebral disc endoscopy has the characteristics of mini-invasion,handling facility and quick postoperative recovery,so as to be suitable for the treatment of single segmental LIDH. Additionally,it plays an impact on the cases with local spinal stenosis, osteophyma hyperplasia, lateral crypt constriction and nerve canal constriction.

BACKGROUND: The appearances of spiral computer tomograph (CT) and three-dimensional image processing are of very importance for fully evaluating preoperative pathological changes, which represent various cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) in clinic, and choosing proper clinical therapeutic occasion and methods.OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effects of imageological image and technical advantages of three-dimensional spiral CT on the preoperative evaluation and surgical plan of CSM.DESIGN: Retrospective analysis, controlled observation.SETTING: Nanjing First Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University. PARTICIPANTS:Altogether 268 patients with CSM admitted to Nanjing First Hospital from January 2002 to January 2005 were involved in this experiment. The involved patients were randomly assigned into preoperative evaluation group (n =146) and control group (n =122). The baseline materials of two groups were comparable.METHODS:Preoperative evaluation group:① CT scan and three-dimensional reconstruction:Helical scanning was conducted at transverse plane with TOSHIBA-HiSpeed/I screw machine. After scanning, reconstruction was performed finally, three-dimensional reconstruction was conducted on computer workstation (RadworkS. 1 ). Correlative data were measured and analyzed with image analysis software (ADW3.1). ② Design of three-dimensional CT-assisted operation plan: Cervical vertebral osseous anatomic landmark and the anatomic relationship of its adjacent structure were revealed stereoscopically.Individual orthopaedic location marker could be provided.Preoperative routine CT examination was performed in the control group with conventional operation method.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① The hyperostosis of vertebral body, hamular process joint and small articular process were observed. ②The degree and type of intervertebral disc protrusion were observed. ③The changes of hyperostosis before and behind the vertebral canal. Spinal decompression was observed by CT virtual endoscopy (CT-VE).RESULTS: All the 268 patients participated in the result analysis. ① In the preoperative evaluation group, 129 patients were found with intervertebral disc protrusion,109 patients with vertebral posterior marginal hyperostosis, 61 patients with hypertrophic ligamentum flavum and corrugation, 27 patients with posterior longitudinal ligament calcification,31 patients with hyperostosis at small articular process,29 patients with vertebral plate thickening and 18 patients with vertebral olisthy. The visible anatomical structures were in accord with clinical manifestations and imageological structures. Death, laryngeal nerve injury, bone graft displacement, infection and other complications were not found in all the patients. In the postoperative 6th month, X-ray image showed that all the patients had good bone graft fusion, and no titanic plate or bolt loosening or fragmentation was found. The excellent and good rate evaluated by Odom was 95.9%.② In the control group, postoperative X-ray image and CT showed that vertebral canal decompression of 24 patients was not fully, and the positions of titanic plate or bolt of 17 patients were not satisfying. The excellent and good rate evaluated by Odom (84.4%) in the control group was lower than that in the preoperative evaluation group (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: Preoperative observation of cervical vertebral individual three-dimensional CT is helpful to exactly and generally evaluate cervical spondylotic myelopathy and assistantly make operative plan, whick makes intraoperative manipulation more exactive, safer and easier to be controlled.

The first research on the NS1 protein as the non-structural protein of the type A influenza virus was emphasized on the considering of its depressant effect on the composition of the protein of host cell. And now, with deep research, the evolution of its genes and the antigenicity of its protein have been explained. The NS1 protein of influenza virus has the association with the apoptosis induced by the influenza virus, the regulating function of apoptosis has the direct correlation with possibility of producing interference and the cell line infected by influenza virus. The NS1 protein restrained to producing the interferon by infected cell. The NS1 protein plays an important role on the host anti-viral cytokine responses,it possesses nagitive regulation for interferon's antiviral activity, most observation indicated nagitive regulation might associate with the virulence of influenza virus.Furthermore NS1 protein as an inspection antigen to differentiate and diagnose the poultry which was immunized or naturally infected has a very wide prospect, because the traditional vaccine was used extensively.

Objective To explore the relationship between proliferation activity-related factors and androgen receptor (AR) expression in 113 cases of human prostate cancer (PCa). Methods AR and the proliferation activity-related factors (PCNA, Ki67, EGFR) in PCa were detected by immunohistochemistry and light/(electron) microscopy. Results Cell proliferation in AR-negative groups of PCa was significantly stronger than in AR-positive groups. Conclusion AR aberrant expression may promote proliferative ability of PCa, cell growth and heterogeneity significantly, which may be one of reasons that PCa is difficult to be cured.

Objective To investigate the imaging and biodistribution of 99Tcm labeled peptide ( phage-SHSWHWLPNLRHYAS) high-binding VEGF receptor 3 in nude mice with ovarian cancer. Methods We used NHS-MAG3 as the bifunctional chelating agent and synthesized the peptide above. It was completed with pre-stannous direct labeling by 99Tcm and then the labeling efficiency was determined by paper chromatography. The tumor bearing mice were injected via tail veins with radiolabeled peptide. The tumors were imaged with single photon emission computed tomography ( SPECT) . We measured and calculated the biodistribution of the radiolabeled peptide. Results The labeled rate was 95. 27% and the radiochemical purity was 96% . Under a SPECT apparatus,we observed tumor location image at 1 h post injection and the tumor images was the clearest at 3 h post injection, with the injected dose per gram of tissue ( % ID/g) of ( 30. 20 ? 6. 89) at the tumor sites. The tumor/muscle ratio was 13. 13. Conclusion Our peptide can accumulate in the tumor masses. It is hopeful to be used as an ovarian cancer targeting vector for diagnosis and therapy of the cancer.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1988;0(06):-
The clinical and pathological materials of 83 cases of prostatic carcinoma (PC) were reviewed retrospectively and the tissue specimens of PC were marked with prostate-specific antigen (PSA). According to the criteria of Dhom's classification of prostatic carcinoma. 66 cases out of the 83 (79. 5%) were of the common variety of PC, 14 cases (10. 9%) were of the rare variety and 3 cases (3. 6%) could not be classified with Dhom's method. Among the 66 cases of common prostatic carcinoma, 41 cases (49. 4%) exhibited a pathological structure of u-riiforrn pattern and 25 cases (30. 1%) of pluriform pattern. Well-differentiated adenocarcinoma, cribriform carcinoma and carcinoid of the prostate were strongly positive to PSA marking; poorly-differentiated adenocarcinoma and almost all the prostatic carcinomas of the rare variety and with the structure of pluriform pattern were positive or weakly positive; undifferentiated solid carcinoma and small cell carcinoma were very weakly positive; and squamous cell carcinoma was negative. In addition, other methods for the pathological classification of prostatic carcinoma used currently at home and abroad were compared and discussed.

Objective To evaluate the expressions of MMP-7, E-cadherin in gastric carcinoma, and their relationship with tumor cell invasion and metastasis. Methods The MMP-7 mRNA and E-CD mRNA were detected by hybridization in situ in 78 gastric cancer tissues. Then analyze the relationship between the expression of MMP-7, E-CD and clinicopathological features. Results The expressions of MMP-7 and Ecadherin were significantly related with the invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer cell. The E-CD mRNA expression rate in MMP-7 mRNA positive gastric carcinoma tissue was much lower than that in negative carcinoma tissue (9.09 % vs 66.70 %). Conclusion Expression of MMP-7 mRNA and E-CD mRNA is associated with invasion, metastasis. Detection of MMP-7 mRNA and E-CD mRNA in bioptic specimens may be helpful in predicting tumor metastatic and recurrent potential and prognosis for patients with gastric carcinoma.
