Objective:To Study the effect of static magnetic field on the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts. Methods:In vitro cultured rat calvarial osteoblasts were seeded into 96-well culture plate and exposed to the different magnetic intensity field for 24,48 and 72 h respectively.MTT assay was applied to study the cell proliferation. ALP was measured by a microplate reader. Results:When the magnetic exposure time extended to 48 h or 72 h, the corresponding MTT value of osteoblasts with magnetic treatment of 40 mT or 62 mT increased obviously(P0.05). ALP activity increased after 24 h exposure to static magnetic field, the effect of static magnetic field intensity of 62 mT and 83 mT showed the strongest promotion effect(P

Journal of Interventional Radiology 2006;0(09):-
Objective To analyze the accuracy, sensitivity and safety of multidetector CT angiography(MDCTA) and DSA;furthermore to explore the clinical value of MDCTA in studying the delayed cerebral vasospasm(DCVS) .Methods Delayed cerebral vasospasm was induced in 17 rabbits by injection of autologuous blood into the cisterna magna and followed by a second injection 24 hours later.MDCTA and DSA were carried out at the 7th day before and after the procedure in order to obtain the data of vascular diameter changes for comparative study. Results The basilar artery diameters detected by MDCTA were shown preoperatively as(1.55 ? 0.14) mm and postoperatively as(0.95 ? 0.20) mm;and detected by DSA as(1.61 ? 0.19) mm and(1.00 ? 0.17) mm postoperatively;showing statistically equivalence between the two methods. Conclusions MDCTA is recommended as a reliable, rapid, and minimally invasive diagnostic method, providing a new technique for the delayed cerebral vasospasm research.

BACKGROUND:Tantalum rod implant technology is a new method of early osteonecrosis treatment. Current research on stress distribution before and after tantalum rod implant in different sizes of femoral head necrosis area is few. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the stress distribution before and after tantalum rod implantation in different sizes of necrotic femoral head area using three-dimensional finite element method. METHODS:Three-dimensional finite element models of normal femoral head and necrotic femoral head of 15, 20 and 30 mm diameterwere constructed. Eight measuring points were chosen on two tiers of each necrotic model to detect the stress distribution and its alteration before and after tantalum rod implantation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Stress concentration werefound on every necrotic femoral head, most pronounced on the one with 30 mm lesion. (2) Tantalum implant appeared to reduce the stress concentration generaly. Comparison of the peak points of these models indicated most significant benefit in 15 mm lesion, next in 30 mm lesion, last in 20 mm lesion. (3) Results indicate that larger lesion entails more concentrated stress distribution and more likely to colapse. Tantalum rod implantation can delay the development of necrosis of the femoral head, andismost effective in smal lesion.

The cloning of promoter is important for studying the genetic engineering and the regulation of gene expression in plants. Two promoters Os772 and Os359, which are predicted to be highly expressed in the endosperm of rice from the EST database were cloned. After construction of the Os772∶∶GUS and Os359∶∶GUS expression vectors, they were transformed into rice. X-Gluc staining of transgenic plants showed that Os772 and Os359 can promote GUS gene expression in matured endosperm but not in root, stem, leaf and flower. This result indicates Os772 and Os359 are two rice endosperm-specific promoters.

Objective To explore the association between psychiatric disorders and socioeconomic status such as education, income, employment and area of community settings in Zhejiang province. Methods Data were from the epidemiological survey of mental illnesses aged 15 and older in 2001(n=14 632).Psychiatric disorders were measured by GHQ-12 with a cut-point 4.Logistic multilevel analysis was the main statistical method being used. Results The overall prevalence of psychiatric disorders was 18.5%(95% confidence intervals,17.9% to 19.1%),higher than the data from Hebei province(u=4.39,P<0.001).Annual household income and employment were strongly associated with psychiatric disorders especially for those with low income(odds ratio 3.45,95%CI:1.72-6.67)and unemployment(odds ratio 2.03,95%CI:1.73-2.40).Factors as regional effect and education level showed weak or inconsistent association with psychiatric disorders after controlling on other indicators. Conclusion Inverse gradient relation between psychiatric disorders and SES seemed as the main result of low SES individual characteristics and some minor effects at the county level.

Chinese Journal of Cancer 2001;20(5):523-526
Objective: This study was designed to evaluate the clinical experience of esophageal replacement with colon (ERC). Methods: Among 51 patients, 6 with benign stricture and 45 with esophageal carcinoma, all of them were performed cervical esophagocologastrostomy. Among 51 patients, 48 patients received ERC by the transverse colon, including isoperistaltic anastomosis (27/48) and antiperistaltic anastomosis (21/48); three patients received ERC along the peristaltic direction by the right-side colon. In these patients, 24 cases were supplied blood by the arteria colica media and 27 cases by the arteria colica sinistra. Results: There was no operative death in the whole group. The postoperative complications consisted of leakage of cervical anastomosis(2 cases), cervical wound inflammation(3 cases), laryngeal recurrent nerve injury (1 cases), lung inflammation (3 cases). Conclusion: The authors conclude that colon was rich in blood and enough in length so that it can be grafted into neck and anastomosed with the esophagus and the result is satisfactory. Improved surgical technique can reduce the incidence of complications of ERC.
