Objective To evaluate the osteogenesis of rabbit allogeneic tooth derived bone graft material by histological detection ,so as to provide quality and cheap repair materials for the repair of bone defects in dental implants. Methods The bone graft materials were prepared using rab?bits allogeneic extracted teeth. A total of 28 adult Japanese healthy rabbits were selected to establish the cranial defect model with three 8 mm diam?eter holes. The allogenic tooth derived bone graft material were implanted into the experimental group. The artificial bone repair material was used as the control group, and the control group did not receive any implantion. Tetracycline labeling was performed after operation, the specimens were taken at 4,8 and 12 weeks after operation, and then the gross observation,X?ray examination, preparation of hard tissue sections, and HE staining were carried out. Results Histological analysis at 4,8 and 12 weeks after operation showed that there was an increasing trend the new bone for?mation in both experimental group and the control group ,and the experimental group was better;the trabecular bone structure of the blank group was scarce and the change was not obvious. Conclusion Allogenic tooth derived bone graft materials can promote the repair of bone defect ,and the effect is better than that of artificial bone repair materials.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(08):-
Objective To observe the expression of bag-1 and heat shock protein (HSP) 70 in clinical malignant tumors and the correlation between them. Methods RT-PCR and Immunohistochemistry were employed to examine the expression of bag-1 and HSP70 in 69 cases with gastroenteric cancer (54 cancer tissues and 15 non-cancer tissues). Results The expression of Bag-1 was detected in 96.3% of the cases, much higher than that in the control group (P0.05), and no correlation was observed between histological grade and HSP 70 expression. Conclusion There exists definite relationship between the gastroenteric cancer and the expression of bag-1 and HSP70, and there are close correlation between the tumor progress and the expression of bag-1.

Objective To investigate the levels of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) expression in different grades of glioma and the relationship with MRI characteristics. Methods Thirty-one patients of glioma confirmed pathologically were divided into two groups: low grade group (grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ, n=20) and high grade group (grade Ⅲ and Ⅳ, n=11). MMP-9 expression levels were evaluated with immunohistochemical staining. Plain and enhanced MR scan were performed in all patients before operation. Peritumoral edema index (EI), enhance percentage (EP) and the tumor's maximum diameter were recorded as characteristics of MRI. Results The expression levels of MMP-9, EI, EP and the tumor's maximum diameter were significantly higher in the high grade group than those in the low grade group (t=6.312, 4.405, 6.286 and 5.026, respectively, all P<0.05). The expression of MMP-9 were found significantly correlated to EI, EP and the maximum diameter of tumor (r=0.516, 0.554 and 0.676, respectively, all P<0.05). The expression levels of MMP-9 were significantly different between tumors with heterogeneity and even signal (t=2.637, P<0.05), but not between tumors with unclear border and clear border definition (t=0.906, P>0.05). Conclusion MMP-9 expression have close relationship with invasion of glioma. EI, EP, the maximum diameter and signal of tumor can reflect the level of MMP-9 expression, and may be used to estimate tumor's malignant behavior, being able to provide the evidence for future clinical operation.

Objective To investigate the association between the target organ damage and morning blood pres- sure surge(MBPS) in the elderly hypertensives. Methods Three hundred thirty-two patients submitted to 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring were categorized as with MBPS (n=173),and non-MBPS(n=149).Total cholesterol, body mass index(BMI),left ventricular mass index (LVMI),carotid endothelial medium thickness (CCA-IMT and ICA-IMT) and corrected QT dispersion(QTcd) were determined. Results 24 h,day and night mean systolic blood pressure in MBPS group were significantly higher than that in the non-MBPS group(P

Object To study the physiological changes of Taxus chinensis var. mairei (Lemee et L?vl.) Cheng et L. K. Fu in the case of methyl jasmonate (MJ). Methods TTC assay, soluble protein measurement and enzyme analysis were used. Results It was observed that MJ inhibited Taxus cell growth in the view of primary metabolism. MJ induced phenylalanine ammonia lyase(PAL) activity while it inhibited polyphenoloxidase (PPO) activity. Extracellular phenolic content after addition of MJ increased to the maximum at the three days than that of the control group. Conclusion It was demonstrated that MJ induced the transition of Taxus cell from primary metabolism to secondary metabolism. This is favorable for secondary metabolism of Taxus cells. It is important to study the physiology of Taxus cells for revealing the mechanism of MJ.

Objective To explore the CT and MR imaging features and differential diagnosis of the prostate sarcoma. Methods CT and MRI findings of prostate sarcoma in 4 patients confirmed by pathology were retrospectively analyzed with literature review. Results All cases underwent plain CT scan and one case underwent contrast-enhanced CT scan,MR imaging was performed in 2 cases. The prostates were increased obviously in volume, the average anterior-posterior diameter was 60.5 mm in all cases, lobulated heterogeneous low-density with lowest-density in the center and the tumors were undefinitive with surrouding structures in 3 cases,1 case showed oval homogeneous low-density with sharp margin on plain CT scan.On contrast-enhanced CT,the lesions appeared as heterogeneous enhancement in periphery of prostates and no enhanced at the centre.MRI showed heterogeneous hypo-signal intensity on T1WI and miscellaneous slight high-signal intensity at center and hyper-signal intensity at periphery on T2WI.Conclusion CT and MRI are the effective methods in diagnosing the prostatic sarcoma.

Objective To discuss CT and MRI manifestations and the differential diagnosis of hepatic tuberculosis. Methods The imaging manifestations of hepatic tuberculosis proved by pathology in 2 cases were analyzed retrospectively with literatures review. The plain and contrast-enhanced CT scans were performed in 2 cases and 1 case underwent plain MRI.Results On plain CT scan, the lesion was non-homogeneous low density with even more low density in the center in 1 case, and nearly isodensity in another case.On contrast-enhanced CT scan, the lesions were no enhancement in arterial phases, and slight enhancement in venous phase and balance phase. In 1 case, slight enhancement was also shown surrounding the necrotic area.On MR plain scan, the lesion demonstrated low signal intensity on T_1WI,iso-and high mixed signal intensity on T_2WI.Conclusion Hepatic tuberculosis is rare seen,so it is easy to misdiagnosis.CT and MRI scanning can demonstrate some features of hepatic tuberculosis, especially dynamic enhanced scanning is very helpful in diagnosis and differential diagnosis.

Objective To establish a quality standard for Tibetan medicineRuyi-Zhenbao pill. Methods Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) was applied to identify 12 Tibetan medicinal materials, and High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was employed to determine the contents of gallic acid, dehydrodiisoeugenol, piperine, and cinnamaldehyde. Results The identified characteristics of TLC were distinct and the spots were clear. Linearity of gallic acid, dehydrodiisoeugenol, piperine, and cinnamaldehyde were in the range of 0.106-0.901μg, 0.033-0.281μg, 0.007-0.060μg, and 0.021-0.178μg, respectively. Average recovery was in the range of 98.47%-101.65% (RSD<3.0%).Conclusions The method of identification and content determination was good in terms of specificity, accuracy and repeatability, and can be used for quality control ofRuyi-Zhenbaopill.
