OBJECTIVETo investigate effects of elastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children.

METHODSFrom July 2006 to December 2011, 25 children with radical neck fractures, which included 16 males and 9 females aged from 7 to 15 years old (means 10.7), were treated with elastic stable intramedullary nails. According to Judet classification, 6 cases were type II, 17 cases were type III and 2 cases were type IV (including 1 case with type IVa and 1 case with type IVb). The fracture healing, pain, deformity and range of motion of elbow were recorded.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months with an average of 14 months. Twenty-five patients were obtained bone healing. According to Tibone and Stoltz evaluation standard, 18 cases got excellet results, 4 cases in good and 3 cases in moderate.

CONCLUSIONElastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children has advantages of simple operation,less trauma and good results.

Objective To investigate the correlation between the frustration tolerance and personality of medical college students and to discuss its promoting strategies.Methods Totally 460 college students were selected randomly.Questionnaire of frustration tolerance and scale of Eysenck personality inventory(EPQ) were used and the measurement data were compared with correlation analysis and regression analysis of SPSS 13.0.Results Correlation was significant between frustration tolerance (total score and 6 inducing factors) and personality (EPQ factors) of college students ； personality (EPQ factors)of students could predict their frustration tolerance and corresponding t value was -4.85,P ＜ 0.01 (psychoticism),6.93,P ＜ 0.01 (extraversion),-11.15,P ＜ 0.01 (neuroticism).Conclusions Personality of college students are greatly influenced by their frustration tolerance.Targeted anti-frustration ability training should be conducted according to the different personality characteristics.

Objective To explore the factors in frequency and degree of risk behavior in adolescents,as well find the way to cope with adolescent mental health. Methods 1369 middle students and college students were measured by Risky Behavior Questionnaire for Adolescents (RBQ-A) ,and analyzed the data. Results (1) There were statistically significant among the different age in difference of risky behaviors except aggressive and/or violent behaviors. Males scored higher than females in unsafe sexual practices, aggressive and/or violent behaviors, dangerous,destructive,and/or illegal behaviors,alcohol and/or drug use and smoking(P<0.05 orP<0.01). Students in city scored higher than rural students in dangerous,destructive,and/or illegal behaviors and alcohol and/or drug use(P<0.05 or P< 0.01). Families with high income scored higher than low income in unsafe sexual practices and rule breaking(P< 0.05 or P< 0.01). Families with low income scored higher than high income residences in dangerous,destructive,and/or illegal behaviors and alcohol and/or drug use(P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). (2) The significant differences were existed in unsafe sexual practices,aggressive and/or violent behaviors,dangerous, destructive,and/or illegal behaviors,alcohol and/or drug use and smoking between males and females (P<0.05 or P<0.01).The significant differences were existed in dangerous,destructive,and/or illegal behaviors and alcohol and/or drug use between groups of 16 years old and 14 ～ 15 years old (P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). The significant differences were existed in dangerous,destructive,and/or illegal behaviors between urban and rural students (P< 0.05 orP<0.01).The significant differences were existed in total scores in gender and urban and rural(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion The significant differences are existed in rate of risky behaviors in gender,age,urban and rural. But there is different degree existed in it.

[Summary] Diabetic nephropathy is one of the major chronic microvascular complications of diabetes ,which is the leading cause of end‐stage renal disease ,as well as the main cause of death in diabetic patients. Glomerular endothelial cell is an important component of the glomerular filtration barrier ,which is directly related to the materials of circulation ,and it can be easily damaged by glucose ,lipid and inflammatory factors. Under the hyperglycemia ,the PKC pathway ,the polyol pathway and oxidative stress were activated ,producing an excess of advanced glycation end products and reactive oxygen species ,which damage the endothelial nitric oxide synthase ,reduce the generation of nitric oxide ,while produce a large number of Ang Ⅱ. Ang Ⅱ damage the endothelial cell. In addition ,there are crosstalk between glomerular endothelial cells and endothelial cells ,which also cause endothelial cell injury. Here ,we reviewed the role of endothelial cell injury in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy.

Objective To observe the efficacy of combinated inhaled glucocorticosteroid and long- ?2 - agonist for asthmatic children. Methods Forty- seven children with moderate or severe persistent asthma were treated with inhalation of the fluticasone pro-pionate and salmeterol. The PEF value and the mark according the symptom of asthma before and after treatment( week and month respectively) were recorded. At the same time the days of treatment the patient with the short - ?2 - agonist in the first week and the forth week respectively were noted. An important index determination for clinical diagnosis of renal function is to assay the creatinine concentration in serum. In the analytical process applied with coupled-enzyme, the quality control of sarcosine oxidase (SOX) as a key enzyme is the first problem to be solved. In order to establish an efficient and laboratory-scale production of SOX, the recombinant sarcosine oxidase (r-SOX) gene was a high-level expression in E. coli induced with lactose on a large-scale fermentation in 300 L fermenter. The results suggested that the biomass concentration reached OD600 of 22 and the expression of recombinant sarcosine oxidase in E. coli accounted for about 25% of total soluble protein in culture after fermentation. The cell-free extract obtained from high pressure homogenizer was processed by selective thermal denaturation and then purified with Ni-Sepharose FF chromatography. The sarcosine oxidase with 97% purity, 25 U/mg specific activity and 92.4% activity recovery was obtained. The molecular weight with single peptide chain of 53 kD and 55 kD of recombinant sarcosine oxidase was assessed by SDS-PAGE in presence or absence of 2-mercaptoehanol and Sephacryl S-200 chromatography. This sarcosine oxidase was found to be a conjugated protein, yellow enzyme, which combined with FAD as prosthetic group by covalent linkage. The contaminant of catalase was not detected in the sample pool of this enzyme. In addition, a further test to the thermal stability of sarcosine oxidase was done. According to the above results, the development and utilization of this enzyme has been set up on a reliable foundation.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the expression of discs large homolog 4 (DLG4) protein in hippocampus, amygdala and frontal cortex of rats and evaluate postsynaptic density in heroin dependence. METHODS: The rat heroin dependent model was established by increasing intraperitoneal injection of heroin. DLG4 proteins in hippocampus, amygdala and frontal cortex of heroin dependent 9, 18, 36 days rats were detected with immunohistochemical staining and compared with that in the control group. RESULTS: DLG4 proteins in hippocampus, amygdala and frontal cortex were gradually reduced with extension of heroin dependent time. CONCLUSION Heroin dependence can affect postsynaptic density of hippocampus, amygdala and frontal cortex. The changes become more apparent with extension of heroin dependence time.
