Method: Two hundreds cases of chronic prostatitis were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group, 100 cases in each group, to observe the therapeutic effects in the clinical symptoms before and after acupuncture treatments and compare the therapeutic effects of the acupoints between the two groups. Results: Clinical subjective symptoms and examination of prostatic fluid were obviously improved in the treatment group (Group Ⅰ) than in the control group (Group Ⅱ), and the effective rate was 100% in the treatment group and was 91% in the control group, in a significant difference (P < 0.01).Conclusion: There is a remarkable therapeutic effect in the treatment of chronic prostatitis by puncturing four acupoints at the root of penis in combination with related acupoints.
3.A comparative study between conventional and endoscope-assisted greater saphenous vein harvesting
Journal of Interventional Radiology 2004;0(S2):-
Objective To compare between conventional and endoscope-assisted greater saphenous vein harvesting and to invest if endoscope-assisted greater saphenous vein harvesting can reduce post-operative leg incision complications. Methods Minimally invasive endoscopic saphenous vein harsvesting technique has been used in 36 isolated CABG patients and this is compaired with 50 conventional saphenous vein harsvesting group. There is no significant difference in sex structure, age, hypertension, diabetes mellitum (DM), myocardial infarction (MI) et al in two groups. Results The incidence of post-operative leg complications with minimally invasive greater saphenous vein harvesting group (2.8% ) was remarkably lower than that in conventional group (28%), and the hospital-stay time was much shorter in minimally invasive group. Conclusion Endoscope-assisted saphenous vein harvesting is a effective method in reducing post-operative leg incision complications.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of community-based rehabilitation (CBR) on older stroke patients in ability of activities of daily living (ADL).Methods50 older stroke patients were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group and control group. The rehabilitation group was treated with motor function exercise and ADL training, while the control group only took medicine. Two groups were evaluated with Barthel index before and after treatment. ResultsScores of Barthel index on the rehabilitation group were higher than that on the control group after treatment, and there was a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.01). Conclusions CBR has the significant effect on improving ADL in older stroke patients.

In order to investigate the effect of malic enzyme on anaerobic mixed acid fermentation, the gene encoding NAD+-dependent malic enzyme was amplified from E.coli DH5? genome by using PCR and cloned into vector pTrc99a to give an expression vector pTrc99a-sfcA.Malic enzyme was overproduced by E.coli FMJ39(ldh,pfl)harboring pTrc99a-sfcA under the condition of IPTG induction. The results of anaerobic fermentation indicated overexpression of malic enzyme would have influence on the pathway of formate, acetate and succinate of FMJ39.The concentration of formate and acetate was 17.58% and 15.27% higher than FMJ39,the succinate concentration was reduced by 26.87%.There was no obvious citrate concentration change. The experimental results also indicated that high concentration of L-Thr and L-Ser would induce the Tdc operon to convert pyruvate into formate and acetate even when pfl gene encoding the pyruvate formate lyase was inactivated.

Objective To observe the growth inhibiting effect of tea polyphenols on implanted mouse breast cancer(EMT_6),and offer the foundation for the next study on its inhibiting angiogenesis effect and its molecular mechanism. Methods Mammary adenocarcinoma EMT_6 was cultured and propagated, then implanted on female BALB/c mice.Tea polyphenols was peroral administrated and local injected.Anticancer function was determined with regular methods.Result After tea polyphenols were taken by oral and local injection on EMT_6 mammary adenocarcinoma mice, the inhibitory ratio of tumor are respectively 37.43% and 40.94%.Conclusion Tea polyphenols had significant inhibitive effect on implanted breast cancer. This offered the foundation for the next intensiVe study on its inhibiting angiogenesis effect and its molecular mechanism.

Object To assess the genetic diversity among ten natural populations in Ophiopogon japonicus (L f ) Ker Gawl and O. bodinieri Levl (Liliaceae) in Sichuan Province Methods Forty random decamer primers were screened for Random Amplified Polymophic DNA (RAPD) fragments Results Based on cluster analysis of 515 DNA bands amplified by 11 primers, a DNA molecular dendrogram was established, and the relationship of the populations and seeds between O japonicus and O bodinieri was set up Conclusion 1 Distinct genetic differences and extensive genetic diversity are presented among the samples The genetic differences are related to morphological differences, but not to geographic regions; 2 Quite genetic differences are presented between O japonicus and O bodinieri, it suggests that they have farther relationships

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(04):-
Objective To investigate question comprehension and production among agrammatic aphasics, and to explore the mechanisms of any dysfunction in questioning. Methods Twenty aphasics were recruited in this study.According to the Chinese Agrammatism Battery,10 were classified as agrammatic (the agrammatic group) and 10 as non-agrammatic (the non-agrammatic group).Ten normal subjects served as a control group. All the subjects were tested in terms of their comprehension and production of questions using a set of general and what-where-who- why questions (wh-questions).Results No significant difference was found between the two experimental groups with regard to the correct comprehension and production of both general and wh-questions.However,there was a sig- nificant difference in correctness between comprehension and production. The performance of the agrammatic aphasics was worse than that of the non-agramatics and the normal subjects. Conclusion The impaired question comprehen- sion and production of Chinese agrammatic aphasics has its own characteristies which can form a basis for rehabilita- tion planning and outcome prediction.

OBJECTIVE: To optimize the prescription of traditional Chinese medicine for motion sickness (MS).METHODS: Zingiber officinale,Herba pogostemonis,Aucklandia lappa were extracted respectively, and rotating-inducing MS mice were enrolled in uniform design. The prescription was optimized with MS index as the parameters.RESULTS: The optimal prescription was as follows:60 g Z.officinale,45 g Herba pogostemonis,5 g A.lappa.The extractive of prescription was significantly better than dimenhydrinate in the treatment of MS.CONCLUSION: MS index is a stable and sensitive parameters and it is suitable for screening and evaluation of anti-MS drugs.R.zingiberis,H.pogostemonis,A.lappq are potential drug for MS.
