Objective To explore the clinic value of blood loss during and after cesarean section in women with scarred uterus. Methods From July 2007 to December 2008, thirty-six women with scarred uterus received weighing methods to evaluate the actual blood loss during and after cesarean section in Yuhuangding hospital, while 98 cases without pregnant complications were chosen as control. Results In women with scarred uterus, the blood loss during operation Was (372.4 ± 180.0) ml, and the total amount after 2 hours and 24 hours were (444.7± 228.2) ml and (527.4 ±251.6) ml respectively, which were higher than corresponding values in control group (P < 0. 05). The incidence of postpartum hemorrhage in scarred uterus was 47.2%, higher than that in control group (P < 0. 05). There were no significant differences between two groups in the tests of hemoglobin and coagulation functions (P > 0. 05). Conclusions Scarred uterus may be one of the important reasons which lead to postpartum hemorrhage. The clinical treatment of pregnant women with scarred uterus should focus on the prevention of blood loss during the cesarean section.

Objective To explore the possible association of oxidative stress reaction with the mRNA expression of podocin in rats with adriarnycin(ADR)-induced nephrotic syndrome. Methods mRNA expression of podocin in renal cortex were investigated by in situ hybridization staining and semi-quantitative RT-PCR in ADR-induced nephrotic rats, the level of malondialdehyde(MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD)and total antioxidative capacity(T-AOC) in renal cortex were measured, then the relationship between them was evaluated. Results In ADR rats, MDA increased at d7 and reached a significant higher level at d14 and d21;SOD decreased at d14 and persisted to d21; T-AOC decreased at d21.The podocin mRNA mostly expressed in cytoplasm of glomerular cells. Both the number and the intensity of positive cells increased notably as time progressed in ADR rats. The level of podocin mRNA expression showed no obvious changes at d7, while prominently increased at d14 and pesisted to d21 in ADR rats. There was significant correlativity between the mRNA expression of podocin and the level of MDA,SOD,T-AOC.Conclusion The mRNA expression of podocin is correlated with oxidative stress reaction in rats with ADR-induced nephrotic syndrome.

Objective To evaluate the diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract endometriosis. Methods Retrospective review of 10 female cases of urinary tract endometriosis was carried out. All cases age was from 28-49, and the average age was 39-year-old. The course of this disease was from 6 months to 3 years. Four of 10 cases were bladder endometriosis. The clinical presentations included the urgency, frequency, pain at micturition and lower abdomen pain during menstruation, gross hematuria coinciding with menstruation 1 case. B-ultrasound and CT showed the mass of bladder from 2. 0 -3.5 cm but were not specific. Four of 6 cases ureteral endometriosis were the left side and 2 cases were the right side. This clinical presentation included non-specific flank or abdomenal discomfort in 4 cases, intermittent gross hematuria in 1 case and 1 case renal hydronephrosis was found incidentally by B-ultrasound. B-ultrasound indicated unilateral upper urinary tract dilation and hydrops in all cases, with pyelic separation from 2.0-4.5 cm and ureteral separation from 1-2 cm. CT indicated stenosis of the lower ureter in 5 cases, ureter tumor in 1 case. Results All cases were treated surgically.Partial cystectomy were performed in 4 cases of bladder endometriosis, of which, 1 case bilateral oophorectomy and hysterectomy. Five cases were performed ureteral segmental resection, of which, 3 ureterocystostomy and 2 terminoterminal anastomosis. 1 case was performed radical nephrectomy and ureterectomy. Postoperative pathological findings confirmed the diagnosis of endometriosis. Postoperative oral hormone therapy was given to 9 cases for 6-12 months. All cases were followed for 12-60months. 2 cases ureteral endometriosis had recurrent hydronephrosis in 18-24 months. The 2 cases received ureteral stent and cured by oral hormone therapy or goserelin subcutaneous injection for 3 months. Conclusions Urinary tract endometriosis usually shows non-specific symptoms. The diagnosis can be missed on both clinical examination and preoperative work-up. Surgical treatment is effective and adjuvant hormone therapy is often recommended to prevent the recurrence.

Objective To investigate the effect of TanshinoneⅡA on nerve conduction of oxaliplatin induced peripheral neuropathy in rats. Methods Fifty Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group, model group, treatment group, prevention group, prevention and treatment group. Except for those in model group, Wistar rats were injected i.p. with oxaliplatin (20 mg/kg). The electrophysiological instrument were employed to detect the sciatic nerve conduction velocity, latency, amplitude 6 h, 24 h, 72 h and 7 d after modeling. Results In the model group, velocity of sciatic nerve conduction slowed, and latency prolonged 24 h after modeling (P<0.05) which continued to slow and prolong until 7 d after modeling (P<0.05). After the application of Tanshinone ⅡA, nerve conduction velocity became faster and latency shorter significantly (P <0.05), especially in the prevention and treatment group, in which no significant difference was found when compared with those in the normal control group (P > 0.05). Conclusions During the chemotherapy with oxaliplatin , TanshinoneⅡA can increase the conduction velocity of sciatic nerve , shorten the disease duration and play a protective role for peripheral nerve.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of castration with 125I brachtherapy in middle and late stage prostate cancer. Methods Sixty-six patients with prostate cancer from 2004 to 2009 were analyzed, 40 were at clinical stage C and 26 were at clinical stage D, 42 had a pathologic grade G2 and 24 had a pathologic grade G3. The first endocrinal therapy used was total androgen blockade (chemical castration and anti-androgen drugs). The therapeutic time was three months before bilateral orchidectomy and brachtherapy. A 3D radiotherapy planning system was used for brachtherapy with transrectal ultrasound-guided radioactive 125I seed uniform implantation. Follow-up endocrinal therapy was decided according to a monthly check of serum PSA (prostate specific antigen) levels. After six months, serum PSA, IPSS and volume of the prostate before and after treatment were compared. Results The operations were completed successfully in all cases. The mean number of 125I seeds implanted was 55. The mean follow-up was 10 to 62 months, with an average of 49 months. Serum PSA, IPSS and the volume of the prostate was reduced significantly six months after operation (P<0.05). Conclusions Castration with 125I brachtherapy is an effective approach in combination therapy for treating middle and late stage prostate cancer.

ObjectiveTo explore the role of HSP27 in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury and hepatic ischemic preconditioning (IP).MethodsMale C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into 3 groups:control group (sham operation),IR group (only hepatic IR),rHSP27 + IR group (rHSP27 injection before IR).The extent of liver injury was evaluated among these 3 groups.Murine HSP27 was silenced by short hairpin RNA and mice were subjected to IR with or without IP after interfering succeeded.Serum ALT and AST levels, hepatic histological damages and mRNA expression levels of pro-inflammatory mediators (TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-6) were measured. Results Silencing hepatic HSP27 aggravated IR injury indicated by higher concentration of serum ALT and AST (P<0.05),reinforced by severer histological damage and more expression of pro-inflammatory mediators (P<0.05),while injection of rHSP27 or IP ameliorated hepatic IR injury.Western-blot showed HSP27 expression was significantly higher in IP group than sham group.Silencing HSP27 largely removed the IP-induced hepatoprotection, indicated by restoration of caspase-3 induction.ConclusionHSP27 is an essential endogenous defense of liver against IR injury.Hepatic ischemic preconditioning can improve subsequent IR injury via up-regulation of HSP27,which is related to HSP27-mediated reduction of apoptosis.
