ObjectiveTo obsrve the clinical efficacy of acupuncture, herbal medicine, plus Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate tablets in treating infertility due to obesity-type polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).MethodA hundred elegible patients were divided into a treatment group and a control group according to their visiting sequence and random number table. The two groups both received oral administration of Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate tables for 3 months. Afterwords, the treatment group was given Chinese herbal medication and acupuncture, while the control group received oral administration of Metforminand Clomiphene plus muscular injection of human menopausal gonadotropin(HMG) and human choionic gonadotropin (HCG). Both groups received a 3-month course. Before and 3 months after the intervention, serum sex hormones were detected, including:follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), testosterone (T), estrodiol (E2), and prolactin (PRL); fasting sugar, sugar tolerance, and insulin release were measured; ovulation, pregnance rate, and total effective rate were calculated.ResultAfter intervention, there were significant differences in comparing LH, LH/FSH, ovulation, and the incidence of follicle hyperstimulating syndrome between the two groups (P<0.05); there were no significant differences in comparing sugar metabolism, insulin release, comprehensive efficacy, dominant follicle count, and pregnancy rate(P>0.05). After intervention, the LH and LH/FSH levels were significantly changed in the treatment group, while the LH and LH/FSH levels, ovulation, and dominant follicle count were significantly changed in the control group (P<0.05), but pregnancy rate and follicle hyperstimulating syndrome were insignificantly changed in both groups (P>0.05).ConclusionCombination of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and Ehinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate tablets can down-regulate the LH and LH/FSH levels, andenhance ovulation, without causing follicle hyperstimulating syndrome.

Objective To understand the psychological health status of the middle and primary school students, and to provide some advice of their mental health care. Methods In 11 611 middle and primary school students in 18 schools in Maojian area of Shiyan city, the students, teachers and parents at 5 schods were investigated a randomely, targets were examined by Achenbach Child Behavior Checklist(CBCL),Pupil Rating Scale Revised Screening for Learning(PRS),Conner's Parent Symptom Questionnaire(PSQ)and Conner's Teacher Rating Scale(TRS)and self-established questionnaires for general information. Results The investigation demonstrated:89.29% of students possessed very promising dreams and sublime pursuits, and had correct outlook on life and values;10.71% of students had comparatively severe psychological problems. The major problems appeared to be indefinite purpose of study, shorted of mental endurance and severe impulsivetrend.Moreover,an-xiety,emotion instability and solitary trend caused indifference, sheepish ness and difficulty in their communication. Conclusion Schools, families and society pay close attention to students, mental health and help the youngsters develop in a healthily psychdogical way.

Objective To understand the mechanism of cerebral energy failure after hypoxia ischemia at the molecular level and to establish the protocol for the safe and effective treatment of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy(HIE).Methods One hundred neonatal rats were divided into normal control group and hypoxic-ischemic(HI) group. SD rats of both groups were decapitated at the time of 2 h,24 h,48 h,72 h and 7 d after HI.These tissues of cerebrum, cortex and hippocampus were taken out to explore the influence of HI on the expression of GLUT1 and GLUT3 genes with the method of RT-PCR.Results There was an enhancement in the expression of GLUT1 and GLUT3 genes with the increasing of day age. The expression was more intense in hippocampus than that in cortex. However, HI could significantly enhance the expression of GLUT genes. The expression was higher in cortex than that in hippocampus. The expression of two genes reached the peak at 24 h after HI, but was significantly lower than that in control group at 7 d after HI.Conclusion The increased expression of GLUT genes can maintain the energy supplement for the brain and delay a cascade reaction of cerebral energy failure.

Objective To quantitatively analyze the coronary artery ostia by three-dimensional trans-esophageal echocardiography (3D-TEE).Methods The full-volume images of aortic root and coronary artery ostia were acquired by 3D-TEE in 95 adult patients. The Philips QLab 3DQ measurement technology was employed to determine three mutually perpendicular planes:(1) The transverse plane cross the bottom of three coronary artery sinus.(2) The sagittal plane perpendicular to sino-tubular junction.(3) The coronal plane perpendicular to the aforementioned two planes .The following relevant parameters were measured and recorded:(1) Length, width, height and area of bilateral coronary artery ostia .(2) The angle between coronary arterial outflow tract and aortic root in sagittal plane .(3) The spatial distribution of coronary artery ostia, aortic root and coronary artert sinus .Results The shape of left coronary artery ostia were more regular (round or oval) than right coronary artery ostia ( teardrop-shape or oval ).Calcification was more frequent in right coronary artery ostia (81/95, 85.26%) than that in left coronary artery ostia. There were statistical differences between left and right coronary artery in the parameters of ostial wide , area and height (t =3.85, 3.86, -4.49, all P<0.01).Most left coronary artery ostia were located inside the sinus (76/95, 80.00%), mainly in the upper third segment (69/95, 72.63%); while more than half of the right coronary artery ostia were found outside the sinus ( 53/95, 55.79%).The difference was statistically significant( χ2 =25.91, P<0.01).Conclusion The quantitative analysis of aortic root and coronary artery ostia based on the full-volume images originated from real-time 3D-TEE is feasible, which is helpful for further clinical research .

BACKGROUND: It has reported that the combination of Tacrolimus and Wuzhi capsules can increase the peak concentration and area under curve of Tacrolimus recipients, however, the effects of this combination on recipients is poorly understood. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Wuzhicapsules on the blood concentration of Tacrolimus recipients. METHODS: A total of 38 renal transplantation recipients receiving triple therapy regime (Tacrolimus+mycophenolate +Prednisolone) were involved in the study and were divided into the experimental group (n=21) and control group (n=17). Recipients in the experimental group were taking Wuzhi capsules simultaneously, and those in the control group were not taking Wuzhicapsules. The Tacrolimus dosage to therapeutic concentration window and renal function were compared between the two groups at months 1,3 and 6 after transplantation. The incidence rates of acute rejection and diabetes mellitus, and renal and liver functions were observed at 6 months after transplantation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The Tacrolimus dosage to therapeutic concentration window of the experimental group was significantly smaller than that of the control group (P < 0.05). However, incidence rate of acute rejection, diabetes mellitus, and renal and liver functions had no dramatically difference in 2 groups (P > 0.05). Results suggest that Wuzhi capsules may improve the immunosuppressive efficacy of Tacrolimus in renal recipients, therefore, can decrease the toxic effect of Tacrolimus with reduction dosage.
