OBJECTIVETo compare differences of clinical therapeutic effect of heat-sensitive moxibustion with different doses for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
METHODSSixty cases of IBS were randomly divided into a saturated-dose group (30 cases) and a traditional-dose group (30 cases). Heat-sensitive moxibustion was applied in both groups. The acupoints that had the strongest heat-sensitive feeling were selected and treated by warm and suspended moxibustion with moxa stick. Disappearance of heat-sensitive feeling was taken as the sign of treatment time in the saturated-dose group, while the traditional-dose group was treated for 15 min each time. The treatment in both groups was given twice a day for first 5 days, and from the sixth day it was given once a day for continuous 25 times, totally 30 days. Clinical symptom scores and therapeutic effect before and after treatment in two groups were observed.
RESULTSAfter the treatment, the cured and markedly effective rate was 75.0% (21/28) in the saturated-dose group, which was inferior to 44.4% (12/27) in the traditional-dose group (P < 0.05). The clinical symptom scores, including diarrhea, abdominal distension and pain, were obviously reduced in two groups compared with those before the treatment (all P < 0.05). Compared with the traditional-dose group, the symptom scores of diarrhea and abdominal distension in the saturated-dose group were obviously decreased (0.87 +/- 0.13 vs 1.27 +/- 0.21, P < 0.01; 1.12 +/- 0.41 vs 1.32 +/- 0.26, P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe moxibustion featured with disappearance of heat-sensitive feeling and saturated dose has better therapeutic effect than that with traditional-dose for treatment of IBS. As individual dynamic amount of moxibustion, disappearance of heat-sensitive and quantitation varies from person to person, which is one of the key factors to obtain the best curative effect.

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2011;31(2):134-138
To discuss the hypothesis of the sensitization state of acupoints based on the original definition and the localization method of acupoint from Internal Classic as well as the clinical evidence of heat-sensitive moxibustion. Acupoints are different in the states, named resting and sensitization. The acupoints of sensitization state are the reactive sites of disease on the body surface, also the best sites for acupuncture and moxibustion treatment. The acupoints are the specific sensitive sites on the body surface relevant with diseases with the best therapeutic effects. Hence, the acupoints of sensitization state are of dynamic variability. In clinical application, only the two-step location method, preliminary and accurate localizations (sensitive probing localization) from Internal Classic can localize the acupoints precisely, rather than one-step location method such as proportional measurement or body surface landmark localization. The nature and property of acupoints are different based on the functional state, not just on the fixed locations.

Objective To evaluate the automatic synthesis of 18F-labeled cyclic RGD peptide c(RGDyK)and its biological distribution in the tumor-bearing mice. Methods N-succinimidyl-4-18 F-fluorobenzoate (18F-SFB) was automatically synthesized and then re-dissolved in acetonitrile (MeCN). The cyclic RGD peptide c(RGDyK) was mixed with an hydrous DMSO and N, N-diisopropyl ethylamine (DIPEA). 18F-FBRGD was obtained by the reaction of peptide solution with 18 F-SFB. The final product was purified by HPLC gradient separation system and solid-phase extraction method. The biodistribution study and competition test of N-4-18F- fluorobenzoyl-RGD (18F-FB-RGD) in the tumor-bearing mice was performed. Results The labeling yield of 18 F-FB-RGD was (33.6 ± 3.5)%. The synthesis time was 110 min. The radiochemical purity was more than 98%. The tumor uptake of 18F-FB-RGD was (3.43 ±0.15), (2.61 ±0.14), (2.11 ±0.13), and (1.79 ±0.18) %ID/g, respectively, at 30, 60, 90 and 120 min after injection. The ratio of tumor to muscle activity ranged from 4.26 ±0.69 to 5.80 ±0.78. The tumor uptake decreased dramatically after RGD blockage. The uptake was (0.46 ±0.21) %ID/g and (2.87 ±0.59) %ID/g in the blocked and unblocked mice, respectively, at 60 min after blockage. Conclusions 18 F-FB-RGD can be automatically synthesized and it may become a promising tumor imaging agent.

Background The proliferation and migration of vascular endothelial cells is a primary link during angiogenesis.Studies showed that heat shock protein B6 (HspB6) promotes the secretion of multiple angiogenesis-related factors and therefore leads to neovascularization.Understanding the effects of neutralizing HspB6 antibody on the biological behavior of human choroidal vascular endothelial cells has an important significance in the target treatment of choroidal neovacularization diseases. Objective This study was to address the role and mechanism of neutralizing HspB6 antibody in tube formation of human choroidal vascular endothelial cells. Methods Human choroidal vascular endothelial cell line was normally cultured and harvested for total RNA extraction.Expressions of HspB6 mRNA and protein in human choroidal vascular endothelial cells were detected by reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) and flow cytometry (FCM).The cells were seeded on 96-well plate covered with matrigel at the density of 2×104/hole.Then the neutralizing HspB6 antibody at the concentration of 100 μg/Land 500 μg/L was added into the medium respectively, and the control cells were set without the addition of HspB6 antibody. The number of capillary tubes was calculated 12 hours after culture by three-dimensional matrigel assay. In addition,0,50,100,500 μg/L of neutralizing HspB6 antibody were added into the cell medium separately for 24hours,cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) method was employed to assay the inhibitory rate(IR) of the cells.Transwell test was used to count the cell number across chamber membrane for the evaluation of migration ability of the cells. The apoptosis of the cells was assayed by FCM.Results Both HspB6 mRNA and protein were expressed on human choroidal vascular endothelial cells. The number of capillary tube formation of human choroidal vascular endothelial cells was (67.25±5.75),(60.39±6.41) and (39.76±10.73) /field in the 0,100 and 500 μg/L neutralizing HspB6 antibody groups, with significant difference among them (F =10.210,P =0.012),and the tube number was significantly less in the 500 μg/L neutralizing HspB6 antibody group compared with 0 μg/L neutralizing HspB6 group (P =0.005).The IR of neutralizing HspB6 antibody to the cellular proliferation and migration was enhanced with the increases of concentration and time lapse(Fconcentration =7.485,P =0.002 ; Ftime =16.684,P =0.001).The number of the cells through Transwell chamber membrane was 14.0 ± 2.5,11.1 ± 0.8,6.6 ± 0.1,6.7 ± 0.2 in the 0,50,100,500 μg/L neutralizing HspB6 antibody group respectively, and that in the 100 μg/L and 500 μg/L neutralizing HspB6 antibody group was lessened in comparison with the 0 μg/L neutralizing HspB6 antibody group(both at P=0.000).The apoptosis rate of the cells was (22.73 ± 2.53)% in the neutralizing HspB6 antibody group, which was significantly lower than (13.33±2.08) % of the control group (t=4.967,P=0.008).Conclusions Neutralizing HspB6 antibody inhibits capillary tube formation of human choroidal endothelial cells in vitro in dose-and timedependent manner, probably through suppressing the proliferation and migration and promoting the apoptosis of choroidal endothelial cells.
8.Clinical application of acupoint heat-sensitization.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2007;27(3):199-202
OBJECTIVETo expound rules of acupoint heat-sensitization and its clinical application.
METHODSAnalyze and probe rules of acupoint heat-sensitization and its clinical application from the acupoint heat-sensitization phenomenon.
RESULTS(1) In the human being there are two functional states, sensitization state and rest state. When the human body has disease, acupoints on the body surface may be sensitized with various types of sensitization, and acupoint heat-sensitization is a type of acupoint sensitization. The sensitized acupoints show acupoint-specific "small stimulation inducing large response" for external relative stimulation. (2) Optimum stimulation for the heat-sensitized acupoint is moxibustion-heat, also it is the optimum point for moxibustion therapy, with a therapeutic effect far better than acupuncture and moxibustion at acupoints of routine rest state. (3) Heat-sensitized acupoints under moxibustion-heat stimulation very easily invigorates moxibustion sensation propagation along channels, greatly increasing clinical therapeutic effect.
CONCLUSIONAdvancing the concept of acupoint heat-sensitization perfects and develops the theory of acupuncture and moxibustion, "Only reaches the needling sensation to the affected area, can the needling produce effects".

9.Key point of moxibustion, arrival of qi produces curative effect.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2008;28(1):44-46
OBJECTIVETo expound a new viewpoint about the clinical main points of moxibustion.
METHODSStarting from study on the heat-sensitivity phenomenon of points, establish a new therapy based on the rule of heat-sensitivity of points and approach whether moxibustion can trigger the sensation propagated along the channel like acupuncture and moxibustion and whether need invigorating the sensation propagated along the channel to increase clinical effect with clinical therapeutic effects of moxibustion used as the test criterion.
RESULTSMoxibustion, just like acupuncture, can high-effectively invigorate the sensation propagated along the channel; moxibustion must trigger the moxibustion sensation propagated along the channel, can the curative effect be increased.
CONCLUSIONArrival of qi produces the effect of moxibustion.
