Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2003;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the immunoregulatory effects of immunonutrient ?-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) and its applications in organ transplantation. Methods Relevant literatures of recent years were reviewed. Results The immunoregulatory effects of ?-3 PUFA can inhibit proliferation and activation of the immunocompetent cells including T cell and B cell, reduce cytokine production, modulate immunologic response, improve graft function, pro-long survival, reduce episodes of rejection, and lessen adverse reactions of immunosuppressor. Conclusion ?-3 PUFA should have wide applications in organ transplantation due to its immunoregulatory effects. However, this research should be further studied.
2.Ultrasonic Diagnosis for Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors
Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging 2016;24(1):36-39
Purpose To evaluate ultrasonography in diagnosis of high recurrence risk gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) by retrospective studying the ultrasound (US) imaging features of GITS. Materials and Methods US features of 72 GIST cases confirmed histopathologically were retrospectively studied. The tumor size, shape, boundary, echogenicity and blood flow of GITS were observed and compared with the results of histopathology. Results Of all the 72 tumors, 34 were originated in the stomach, 14 in the intestine, 2 in the colon, 8 in the rectum, 9 in the mesentery, 1 in the posterior peritoneum, 1 in the omentum and 3 huge masses of non definite origin. There were 7 cases with very low recurrence risk, 14 cases with low risk, 11 cases with intermediate risk and 40 cases with high risk. High recurrence risk group showed no statistical difference in heterogeneous hypoechoes and blood flow (P>0.05), but showed significantly higher rates in following US features:size larger than 5.0 cm, irregular shape, obscure boundary and cyst-solid echogenecity (P<0.001), which showed the sensitivity of 95.0% (32/40), 72.5% (29/40), 25.0% (10/40), and 55.0% (22/40), respectively; and the specificity of 59.4% (19/32), 81.3% (26/32), 90.6% (29/32), and 87.5% (28/32), respectively. Conclusion US can serve as a mean of screening GIST. The recurrence risk can be evaluated based on the tumor size, shape, boundary and echogenecity to guide clinical decisions and prognosis evaluation.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the study of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the treatment of chloasma, and to provide reference for clinical treatment and study of chloasma. METHODS:Retrieved from CBM,Wanfang database,CNKI and VIP,usingchloasmaas subject, the literatures of TCM therapy were collected during Jan. 2003-Dec. 2012. Bibliometric meth-od was adopted to analyze included literatures statistically in respects of publication amount, periodicals, research institution,litera-ture types, citing references, other periodicals citatien times, fund support, distribution of provinces and cities. RESULTS:During 2005-2012,the amount of the literatures increased slowly. Among top 10 journals in the list of publication amount, only Chinese Journal of Aesthetic Medicine was not TCM journal and took up the first place. Among top 7 research institutions in the list of publi-cation amount,TCM colleges took up predominant place, followed by TCM hospitals. The types of the literatures were mainly case report, contrastive study before and after treatment,group-divided control study;the amount of group-divided control studies increased gradually year by year. The references cited were mainly English literatures. There were 82 literatures which were cited by other periodicals more than 10 times;the highest time of other periodical citation per literature was 47 times;only 11 literatures were supported by fund. The institutions of literatures authors were distributed in 32 provinces, cities and autonomous regions of China, mainly in the eastern coastal areas. CONCLUSIONS:More and more attention has being paid to TCM therapy for chloas-ma,but the scope and depth of the studies were inadequate. From the point of view of modern medicine,we can explore the patho-logical TCM mechanism and the treatment method of shortening the course of disease.

Objective To introduce a two-stage operative method to treat ma lu nion after the distal femoral fracture. Methods From Aug. 1992 to Aug. 2000, 12 patients underwent osteotomy and secondary fixation due to malunion after the di stal femoral fracture. There were 10 closed fractures and 2 open ones. The prima ry treatment was conservative for 2 patients, and operative for 10. We first per formed the osteotomy along the primary fracture line where the deformity was the most severe. When the roentgenogram confirmed that the deformity had been corre cted satisfactorily, a secondary operation of ORIF (open reduction with internal fixation) was performed. Results On average, all the 12 patients gained bone un ion 5.1 months postoperatively. The mean follow-up duration was 7.2 years (rang e: 3.5 to 11.5 years). None of the patients was afflicted by infection or loosen ing of the internal fixator. According to the Schatzker scoring scale system, al l the patients were evaluated as poor preoperatively, but as excellent in 7, goo d in 4 and fair in 1 at the last follow-up. Conclusion Osteotomy and secondary fixation is not only simple and accessible but also can lead to confirmed clinic al results. However, it is still very important to reduce and fix the acute frac tures stably to avoid malunion.

Flavonoid naringin is widely distributed in various types of plants and is an important component of herbal Drynaria. In previous studies, Drynaria has been demonstrated to have inhibitory effects on inflammatory responses and bone destruction and exert anabolic effects on bone, has been widely used in the clinical treatment. Naringin, was in the stage of experimental yet. The experimental results have confirmed that naringin suppressed inflammation including arthritis by lowering the expression of inflammatory cytokines, and the mechanism can be explained as reducing the expression of NF-κB. Naringin has been shown to increase osteoblast proliferation by increasing the expression of BMP-2, inhibit osteoclast activity by reducing the expression of RANKL. In animal experimental, naringin was useful for osteoporosis, and the mechanisms are in-depth studies. Research in the field of traditional Chinese medicine and orthopedics, naringin as a explicit material structure in the components of Drynaria, has been concerned about the experimental studies, it is not only prosperity the development of traditional Chinese medicine research, but also ready for clinical studies anti-inflammatory and bone effects of naringin in the future.

National Journal of Andrology 2016;22(3):264-267
In recent years, the incidences of male infertility and recurrent abortion are increasing. The causes of the conditions are varied and complex, but the affected stability of the genetic material in the sperm is an important etiological factor. Environmental pollutants may invade the body through respiration, diet and other channels, resulting in infertility and abortion or even affecting the reproductive system development of the offspring by changing the epigenetics of sperm DNA. In this paper, we propose the idea of using traditional Chinese medicine to prevent environmental pollutant-induced epigenetic changes of sperm DNA, hoping to provide a new insight into the protection against genetic material damage, male infertility, and recurrent abortion caused by environmental pollutants.
