Objective: To establish a new method for determination of guaiacul in Succus Bambusa. Methods: The contents of guaiacul were determined by HPCG with sequential increase of temperature on a HP 6890 gas chromatograph. Results: The calibration curve showcd good linearity over the range of 0 ng～47.808 ng(r=0.99995). The average recovery was 99.64% and the relative standard deviation was 2.1%(n=6). Conclusion: The method is simple, and accurate with a good reproducibility and can be used as quantitative analysis method for Succus Bambusae.

Objective To investigate the effects of thiopentone and propofol on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury during open heart surgery under deep hypothermia circulatory arrest in infants and young children. Methods Twenty patients with VSD and pulmonary hypertension (13 male, 7 female), aged 3-23 months and weighing 4-11 kg were randomly divided into three groups: in group A thiopentone 5mg.kg was added in CPB machine when body temperature was reduced to 30℃ (n = 7); in group B propofol 2 mg.kg-1 was added ( n =8) and group C served as control ( n - 5). When rectal temperature was reduced to 20℃, CPB was stopped and intracardiac manipulation was started. Anesthesia was induced with midazolarn 0. 2mg.kg -1, fentanyl 20 ?g.kg1 and vecuronium 0. 1mg.kg1 . After tracheal intubation the patients were mechanically ventilated and anesthesia was maintained with O2-N2O-isoflurane and intermittent boluses of fentanyl and vecuronium infusion (70?g.kg-1.h1). Radial artery was cannulated and internal jugular vein (IJV) was retrogradely cannulated until bulb, and blood samples were taken simultaneously from artery and IJV before CPB (T1 ), during circulatory arrest (T2 ) at the beginning of reperfusion ( T3 ) and 24h after operation ( T4 ) for blood gas analysis and determination of plasma concentration of lactic acid (LA), creatine kinase-BB (CKBB) activity and neuron-specific endase (NSE). Cerebral arterial-venous O2 content difference (Ca-vO2) and cerebral O2 extraction ratio (CO2ER) were calculated. Results Plasma concentration of lactic acid was increased at T3 in all three groups and was the highest in group A. Cerebral O2 metabolism decreased at T2 in all three groups and was the lowest in group B and resumed at T4 CKBB activity was increased at T3 and NSE level was increased at T3 and T4 in all 3 groups. The increase in CKBB activity and NSE level was slightest in group B. Conclusion Propofol can protect brain from ischemia-reperfusion injury in infants and young children during open heart surgery under deep hypothermic circulatory arrest.

AIM: To establish a method of determing prim-o-glucasylcimifugin,5-o-methylvisammiosode,gardenoside quantitatively in Huoxiang Gingwei Granules(Herba Pogostemonis,Fructus Gardeniae,Radix Saposhnikoviae,etc.). METHODS: Three components were determined by HPLC in the same chromatographic condition(Column: Shimadzu VP-ODS 250 mm?4.60 mm,5 ?m;mobile phase: acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid gradient elution;flow rate: 1.0 mL/min: column temperature: at 30 ℃). RESULTS: Prim-o-glucasylcimifugin showed a good linear relationship at the range of 26.0-390 ng,r=(0.999 9),the average recovery was 101.7% and RSD was 1.1%.5-o-methylvisammiosode showed a good linear relationship at the range of 21.5-322.2 ng,r=(0.999 9),the average recovery was 101.9% and RSD was 1.1%.Gardenoside showed a good linear relationship at the range of 47.1-706.5 ng,r=(0.999 9),the average recovery was 101.6% and RSD was 1.1%.(CONCLUSION):() The established method can provide the content determination of 3 ingriedents at the same test condition and be used for the quality control of Huoxiang Qingwei Granules.

Traumatic optic nerve injury ( TON) is caused by direct or indirect optic nerve trauma, which is one of a serious complication of craniocerebral trauma. lts prognosis poor and usually bring permanent vision damage. At present, optic nerve injury and regeneration is hot in neurobiology research. To build an ideal experimental animal model is extremely important in research and development in the treatment of optic nerve injury. ln this article, we review the methods of making rat models of traumatic optic neuropathy, clinical similarities, advantages and disadvantages of among these models, to provide reference for more experimental study.

Objective To evaluate the system of academic assessment and evaluation on introduced talented personnel so as to establish a consummate talented personnel introduction mechanism and to further standardize the introduction work. Methods On the basis of referring to document papers and soliciting management as well as human resource experts iteratively,the research method of expert consultation was adopted.(Results)The index system of academic assessment and evaluation on introduced talented personnel in school of medicine was preliminary established,and the objective index and subjective evaluation were scientifically combined to form the method of academic assessment and evaluation on introduced talented personnel. Conclusion Through simulative assessment and evaluation as well as probational demonstration,there exits definite scientificality and applicability on this academic assessment and evaluation index system,and it can provide a properly objective evaluation and essential reference foundation in the aspect of introducing more advanced talented personnel in the near future.

Objective To explore the clinical pathological data of the elderly patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia(PSVT) and the timing of the radiofrequency ablation treatment for PSVT and its clinical efficacy.Methods The clinical pathological data of 45 elderly patients with PSVT for radiofrequency ablation were retrospectivly analyzed,and the information of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,the duration of PSVT and frequency of attacks,the reason of patients had to accept radiofrequency catheter ablation,the treatment effective of electrophysiological study and radiofrequency ablation were recorded.Results The duration and frequency of attacks with PSVT were positively related with pathogenesis in the elderly patients.Elderly PSVT patients with severe cardiovascular disease accounted for 28.89％.The first radiofrequency ablation treatment success rate was 100％ in this research and the recurrence rate was 4.4％.Conclusion It is recommended that elderly PSVT patients early access to the radiofrequency ablation.

Objective To compare the clinical effects of intramedullary nails and locking compression plate in the treatment of femur shaft fracture.Methods The clinical data and follow-up records of 43 patients with femur shaft fracture treated by intramedullary nails and locking compression plate were retrospectively reviewed.Including 31 males and 12 females with an average age of 40.07 years(25 to73).According to AO classification:5 cases were type A,24 cases were type B,14 cases were type C.26 patients in group A treated by intramedullary nails and 17 patients in group B treated by locking compression plate.Operation time,fracture union time,blood loss and complications were compared between the two groups.The Karlstrom and Olerud result were compared and analyzed.Results All patients were followed up at an average of 15 months(range 5-24) after surgery.According to Karlstrom and Olerud score system,the excellent and good rate of group A was 88.4％,higher than the group B 82.3％.But there was no significant difference between the two groups.In group A:the operation time (113.77 ±20.14)min,the blood loss in the operation (386.74 ± 65.16) ml,clinical bone healing (15.52 ± 1.77) weeks.All these outcomes were better than group B (P ＜ 0.01).One case in group A appeared screw loose,but X-ray showed the nail stable,the bone wasn't displacement.One case in group B appeared broken plate 1 month after operation,and received twice operation,the clinical outcome was good as well.Another 1 case with fracture delayed union in group B,after internal fixation removed,we check the X-ray showed bone union.Conclusion Two methods of treatment femur shaft fracture can all reach the above requirement.Fixation of intramedullary interlocking nail is the preferred surgery than locking compression plate.

Objective To investigate the effects of epidural administration of a mixture of betamethasone and lidocaine on nerve root inflammation and epidural space adhesion in rabbits. Methods Twenty-four adult male New Zealand white rabbits weighing 2.0-2.1 kg, were randomly divided into 2 groups ( n = 12 each): control group and treatment group. A catheter was inserted into epidural space at L2,3 interspace. Twenty-four hour after epidural catheter placement, talcum powder 0.5 mg/kg was injected into epidural space to make the model of nerve root inflammation and epidural space adhesion. Three days later a mixture of lidocaine 2.5 mg/kg and betamethasone 0.25 mg/kg was injected via the epidural catheter in treatment group, while the equal volume of normal saline was given in control group. At 21 days after administration of lidocaine and betamethasone, the spinal cord was removed, and dura mater and nerve root were checked with naked eye, light microscope and electron microscope.The neutrophil count in the dura mater was determined. Results There was nerve root inflammation and epidural space adhesion in control group. The nerve root inflammation and epidural space adhesion was not observed in treatment group. The neutrophil count was reduced in treatment group (21 ± 12) compared with control group (250 ±43) ( P < 0.01) . Conclusion Epidural administration of a mixture of betamethasone and lidocaine can alleviate nerve root inflammation and epidural space adhesion.
