OBJECTIVETo investigate effects of elastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children.
METHODSFrom July 2006 to December 2011, 25 children with radical neck fractures, which included 16 males and 9 females aged from 7 to 15 years old (means 10.7), were treated with elastic stable intramedullary nails. According to Judet classification, 6 cases were type II, 17 cases were type III and 2 cases were type IV (including 1 case with type IVa and 1 case with type IVb). The fracture healing, pain, deformity and range of motion of elbow were recorded.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months with an average of 14 months. Twenty-five patients were obtained bone healing. According to Tibone and Stoltz evaluation standard, 18 cases got excellet results, 4 cases in good and 3 cases in moderate.
CONCLUSIONElastic stable intramedullary nails for the treatment of radial neck fracture in children has advantages of simple operation, less trauma and good results.

Corynebacterium glutamicum SA001 is a mutant with lactate dehydrogenase (ldhA) deletion. In order to increase metabolic flux from isocitrate to succinate, and to improve the production of succinate under anaerobic conditions,we transducted the gene aceA coding isocitrate lyase (ICL) from Escherichia coli K12 into Corynebacterium glutamicum SA001 (SA001/pXMJ19-aceA). After 12 h aerobic induction by adding 0.8 mmol/L of IPTG, the recombinant strain was transferred to anaerobic fermentation for 16 h. Succinate reached 14.84 g/L, with a productivity of 0.83 g/(L x h). Compared to C. glutamicum SA001, the activity of ICL of the recombinant strain was increased 5.8-fold, and the succinate productivity was increased 48%. Overexpression of isocitrate lyase will increase the metabolic flux of glyoxylate bypass flowing to succinate.

Objective To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effects of Ginger extraction on heart failure in rabbits. Methods Twenty-seven New Zealand pure-breed rabbits were randomized into 3 groups:group A,group B and group C.Group A was orally administrated with 2 %Ginger extraction 3 days before and after modeling;group B was orally administrated with purified water 3 days before modeling and with 2 %Ginger extraction after modeling;group C was orally administrated with purified water 3 days before and after the establishment. The differences of modeling time and dosage of pentobarbital sodium between groups were compared;hemodynamics parameters before and after administration were detected. Results (1)The modeling time and dosage of Pentobarbital Sodium were remarkably increased in group A,differences being significant compared other 2 groups(P

Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 2000;0(05):-
Objective To investigate the effects of Rhizoma Zingiberis Extract (RZE) on the cardiac functions of rabbits with heart failure. Methods Forty pure-bred New-Zealand rabbits were randomly allocated to 4 groups: control group, low-dosage RZE group, moderate-dosage RZE group and high-dosage RZE group. The rabbit model of heart failure was established by intravenous dripping of 20 g/L pentobarbital sodium. Oral tube perfusion of RZE was given after model establishment. The hemodynamic changes were observed before and after the modeling and 5,10,15,20,30,45,60,90,120,150 minutes after treatment by a RM-6000 4-graph physiological monitor. Results After treatment, LVSP, lv?dp/dtmax,lv +dp/dtmax,lv-dp/dtmax showed an ascending tend in all the groups, particularly in RZE groups; the differences between the control group and RZE groups were significant 30 minutes after treatment (P

Objective To study the clinical significance of P - selection expression in children with viral encephalitis and the correlation between this expression and the cerebral infarction with critical viral encephalitis. Methods Flow cytometric was employed to detect the expression of P- selection on the surface of platelet membrane in 44 children with viral encephalitis(20 light patients and 24 critical patients) and 20 healthy control children. The area of the cerebral infarction was determined by computed tomographic scan in 20 patients with critical viral encephalitis. The correlation between the two variables was analyzed. Results The expressions of P - selection on the surface of platelet membrane on less than 5 days and on 2 weeks after the onset of viral encephalitis were significantly higher in critical patients than those in normal control children and light patients( P

Objective To investigate the roles of adrenomedullin(ADM) and endothelin-1(ET-1) in left-to-right shunt congenital heart disease(CHD) complicated with congestive heart failure(CHF).Methods Plasma ADM and ET-1 concentrations were measured by radioimmunoassay in heart failure stage and recovery period of 18 infants with left-to-right shunt CHD.Also 20 healthy infants acted as control group were measured. Results Plasma concentrations of ADM and EF-1 were significantly higher in heart failure stage of left-to-right CHD infants than those in their recovery period, and both in their heart failure stage and in their recovery period were higher than that in control group(P
