Objective To explore the relationship of dynamic changes between the iodine nutritional condition and growth of children born before and after the implementation of universal iodine.Methods By means of sampling investigation,urinary iodine and goiter,height,weight,intelligence quotient(IQ)were comprehensively evahated in children aged 7～14 years old born before and after the implementation of iodine in 10 counties and 2 cities of Qiannan.Results The median of urinary iodine of children Was 91.88μg/L in 1984,133.33μg/L in 1994,316.00μg/L in 2006;goiter rate was 21.40%(122/570)in 1984,12.86%(107/832)in 1994,5.28%(45/851)in 2006;the average IQ was 89.18±4.10 in 1994,94.26±0.94 in 2006;children in each age group in 2006 has a higher height and a heavier weight compared with those in 1984.Conclusion The physical development and intelligence of children in the areas of iodine deficiency have improved along with the correction of iodine deficiency.

Objective To investigate the effect of different delivery modes and related obstetric factors on the short-term function of the pelvic floor.Methods One hundred and twenty healthy primiparae women were interviewed at 6-8 weeks postpartum,with 72 women in the vaginal delivery group and 48 women in the elective cesarean section group.Questionnaire on stress urinary incontinence and measurement of diastolic and contractive function of the pelvic floor muscles by electromyogram(EMG)were used for the evaluation and comparison.Results The prevalence of stress urinary incontinence in the vaginal delivery group and the elective cesarean section group was 21% and 10%(P=0.134),respectively.The values of the right act,right work,and average work surveyed by EMG in vaginal delivery group were significantly lower than those in cesarean section group(right act,12.9?0.8 vs 17.3?1.7,P

OBJECTIVE: To discuss and summarize the major characteristics, autopsy examination, and scene investigation in infant homicide cases. METHODS: From 2008 to 2013 in Suzhou, the information of seven detected infant homicide cases were collected and analyzed. RESULTS: The criminal suspects were victims' mothers with young ages and pregnancies were premarital. Infant homicide cases occurred at the same location of the delivery. The infants died of mechanical asphyxia in the majority of the cases. Most bodies were naked and their umbilical cords were not cut by iatrogenic method and didn't connect with the bodies. CONCLUSION The standardization of forensic investigation can improve the analysis and detection of infant homicide cases.

OBJECTIVETo reconstruct a penis with sensation and erectile function maintained by corpora cavernosa lengthening and skin flap transferring in the penis defect cases.

METHODSThe procedure was based on the use of releasing the suspensory ligaments and part of crus, various flaps were designed as coverage material. Penis residual stump was advanced to anterior portion of the newly reconstruction penile body as "glans".

RESULTS40 patients with penis defect have been operated by the above methods. In the cases, length of the penis varied from 0.5-4.0 cm in the flaccid, 1.5-5.0 cm in erect state before operation. And after operation, it turned to 5.0-8.5 cm in the flaccid, 7.0-12.5 cm in erect state. Most of the patients recovered gross tactile sensation and had satisfactory erectile function.

CONCLUSIONWith this method, the reconstructed penis tends to have a better appearance and function. It's a more optimal method compared with the conventional operation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the intervention effects of Suxiao Jiuxin Pill (SJP) on patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing early percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

METHODSSixty ACS patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group (treated by SJP and Western medicine) and the control group (treated by Western medicine alone), 30 in each group. Coronary arteriography and early PCI were performed in all patients. The effects of SJP on the blood flow rate, the collateral artery patency, and perioperative myocardial infarction incidence were observed.

RESULTSThe coronary blood flow rate was better in the treatment group than in the control group either pre- or post-PCI. [pre-PCI thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) level III: 16/30 vs 11/30, P < 0.01; post-PCI TIMI level III: 14/14 vs 13/19, P < 0.05)]. In patients with ITMI level 0 - I , more patients in the treatment group had collateral artery protective function than those in the control group (5/6 vs 3/13, P < 0.05). The incidence of perioperative myocardial infarction was obviously lower in the treatment group than in the control group (8/30 vs 15/30, P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSJP could improve the pre- and post-PCI coronary artery flow rate, increase the collateral artery patency, and reduce the incidence of perioperative myocardial infarction of ACS patients.

To study the contribution of T cell subsets in the pathogenesis of Murine hepatitis virus Type3 (MHV-3) induced chronic viral hepatitis in C3H/Hej mice, ninety C3H/Hej mice were chosen to individually receive 10 plaque forming units (PFU) of MHV-3 intraperitoneally. The changes of virus titer and pathology in liver tissue were examined by standard plaque assay and by the hematoxylin/eosin (HE) staining method from 2 days post MHV-3 infection. The ratios of T cell subsets including CD3+CD4+CD8-, CD3+CD4-CD8+, CD3+CD4-CD8-, CD3+CD4+CD25+, CD3+CD4+CD25- and CD3+CD4-CD25+ T lymphocyte of total T lymphocytes in blood, spleen and liver were examined at 0, 2, 4, 6,8, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 days post MHV-3 infection by flow cytosorting. We observed that the virus titer raised and showed persistent virus duplications and inflammatory changes in the livers of C3H/Hej mice from 2 days post MHV-3 infection. The double negative T cell (DN Treg cell) and CD4+CD25+ T cell ratios increased significantly from 2 days post MHV-3 infection in C3H/Hej mice, and CD3+CD4+CD8-, CD3+CD4-CD8+, CD3+CD4+CD25- and CD3+CD4-CD25+ T cell ratios decreased accordingly. In conclusion, the changes of virus titer and pathology in the livers of C3H/Hej mice post MHV-3 suggest their contribution to viral persistence. Further characterizations of DN Treg cells are that infection indicates that MHV-3 could induce the chronic inflammation in livers of C3H/Hej mice.The increase of the DN Treg cell and CD4+CD25+ T cell ratios in C3H/Hej mice post MHV-3 infection suggests that DN Treg cells and CD4+CD25+ T cells may both have important suppressive immunomodulation functions in the development of chronic viral hepatitis and have important roles in the virus persistent infection. Further characterizations of DNT cell and CD4+CD25+ T cell are under investigation.

U-shaped sacral fractures are rare and often difficult to diagnose primarily due to the difficulty in obtaining adequate imaging and the severe associated injuries.These fractures are highly unstable and frequently cause neurological deficits.The majority of surgeons have limited experience in management of U-shaped sacral fractures.No standard treatment protocol for U-shaped sacral fractures has been available till now.This study aimed to examine the management of U-shaped sacral fractures and the early outcomes.Clinical data of 15 consecutive patients with U-shaped sacral fracture who were admitted to our trauma center between 2009 and 2014 were retrospectively analyzed.Demographics,fracture classification,mechanism of injury and operative treatment and deformity angle were assessed.All the patients were treated with lumbopelvic fixation or (and) sacral decompression.EQ-5d score was applied to evaluate the patients' quality of life.Of the 15 consecutive patients with U-shaped sacral fracture,the mean age was 28.8 years (range:15-55 years) at the time of injury.There were 6 females and 9 males.The mean followup time was 22.7 months (range:9-47 months) and mean full weight-bearing time was 9.9 weeks (range:8-14 weeks).Ten patients received lumbopelvic fixation and sacral decompression,one lombosacral fixation,and 4 merely sacral decompression due to delayed diagnosis or surgery.The post-operation deformity angle (mean 27.87°,and range:8°-90°) of the sacrum was smaller than that pre-operation (mean 35.67;range:15-90) with no significance difference noted.At the latest follow-up,all patients obtained neurological recovery with different extents.Visual analogue score (VAS) was reduced from preoperative 7.07 (range:5-9) to postoperetive 1.93 (range:1-3).All patients could walk without any aid after treatment.Eight patients were able to care for themselves and undertook some daily activities.Five patients had returned to work full time.In conclusion,lumbopelvic fixation is an effective method for stabilization of U-shaped sacral fractures with fewer complications developed.Effective reduction and firm fixation are the prerequisite of early mobilization and neurological recovery.Sacral decompression effectively promotes neurological recovery even in patients with old U-shaped sacral fractures.

To investigate the relaxation effect and underlying mechanism of U50,488H (a selective kappa-opioid receptor agonist) on aorta in the rat, isolated aortic ring was perfused and the tension of the vessel was measured. It was shown: (1) kappa-opioid receptor stimulation with U50,488H relaxed rat aorta dose-dependently; (2) the relaxation effect of U50,488H on aorta was partially endothelium-dependent; (3) the relaxation effect of U50,488H was significantly attenuated in the presence of glybenclamide and glipizide, two ATP-sensitive K(+) channel (K(ATP)) blockers; and (4) the relaxation effect of U50,488H on vessel bore no relationship to muscarinic-receptor, beta-adrenoceptor, prostaglandin and nitric oxide (NO). These results indicate that kappa-opioid receptor stimulation with U50,488H relaxes the aortic artery at least partially via K(ATP) channel in the rat.
