OBJECTIVE:To observe the preventive and therapeutic effect of Keshu on acute alcoholism mice.METHODS:Acute alcoholism mice model was established, and randomly divided mice into model group and high, middle, low dosage of Keshu group;the tolerance time, lasting time and the concentration of alcohol in blood were compared among each group.RE-SULTS:Compared with the model group, the tolerance time has been prolonged, the lasting time has been shortened and the blood concentration of alcohol has been lowered in Keshu group.CONCLUSION:Keshu has an obvious preventive and thera-peutic effect on acute alcoholism, the preventive effect of which outweighs the therapeutic effect.

The JC virus is a widely infected human polyomavirus. Recent foreign researches showed that the JC virus infection is correlated with tumors of nervous system and digestive system, while, and study on the relationship between JC virus infection and gynecological tumor is seldom reported. In this study, we first establish the nucleic acid detection methods and procedures for JC virus and its highly homologous BK virus. The JC and BK viruses infection was evaluated by detect the viral DNA in samples including biopsy tissues, serum as well as urine of myoma of uterus (98 cases), cervical cancer (84 cases), endometrial cancer (40 cases) and ovarian tumor (72 cases) patients. The BK viral DNA positive rate was significantly higher in urine samples than that of blood and biopsy samples, and there is no significant difference of the BK viral DNA positive rate among all patient groups. The JC viral DNA positive rate is almost 0 in serum samples and biopsy. tissues, however, viral DNA positive rate is more than 50% in urine samples. In fibroids group, the JC viral DNA positive rate is up to 65. 3% which is significantly higher than that in other patients groups and healthy control. Further gynecological tumor associated viruses detection showed that only human papilloma virus infection is associated with cervical cancer, the herpes simplex virus, EB virus and cytomegalovirus infection is extremely low in our patient groups. No synergistic effect on gynecological tumor caused by viruses co-infection was observed. Our study showed that JC virus infection is highly related to the pathogenesis of uterine fibroids.

Objective To observe the effect of ultrashort wave diathermy on collagen type I expression in early stage of hormon-induced avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) in rabbit. Methods A total of 40 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into two groups:a control group (n=10) and a treatment group (n =30).All the animals in the treatment group were injected with horse serum and methylprednisolone to establish the ANFH model, and then divided into 2 subgroups:a model group and a ultrashort wave diathermy group, which were treated accordingly. After 12 weeks of treatment, all the animals were sacrificed and collagen type I expression in the femoral head was observed. Results It was shown that the expression of the collagen type I was significantly lower in the model animals than that in the controls as indicated by the stronger immunohistochemistry staining for rabbit collagen type, while that of the ultrashort wave diathermy group was significant higher than the control group ( P

Objective To investigate the effect of recombinant murine interleukin-23(rIL-23)on systemic candidiasis in a murine model. Methods A cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppressed murine model of systemic candidiasis was established. The mice were divided into control group and rIL-23 treatment group.Colony forming units(CFU)of the kidney and spleen were determined by using plating dilution method. The histopathological changes and degree of infection of the kidney and spleen were graded.Meanwhile, the levels of interferon gamma(IFN-γ)in the spleen were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results On the 2nd,3rd and 7th day after Candida albicans infection the number of CFU of the fungi in the kidney in the control group was significantly greater than that in rIL-23 treatment group(P<0.01).The number of CFU of the fungi on the 2nd,3rd and 7th day after Candida albicans infection in the spleen in control group was also greater than that in rIL-23 treatment group, but without statistically significant difference(P>0.05).The scores of histopathological changes in the kidney in rIL-23 treatment group were lower than those in control group(P<0.01),and the degree of infection was milder in rIL-23 treatment group. The scores of histopathological changes in the spleen in rIL-23 treatment group were also lower than those in control group, but without statistically significant difference(P>0.05).The levels of IFN-γ in the spleen on the 2nd,3rd and 7th day after infection in rIL-23 treatment group were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.01).Conclusion rIL-23 has protective effect on murine systemic candidiasis.
9. Conventional repair, prolift system and gynemesh system in total pelvic floor reconstruction: A comparison
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2012;33(7):802-804
Objective To compare the conventional repair, Prolift system and Gynemesh system in total pelvic floor reconstruction. Methods Forty patients with pelvic organ prolapse (POP), who were treated in our department from March 2009 to March 2011, were included in the present study. Fifteen cases were in the conventional repair group, 10 in the Prolift system surgery, and the other 15 in the Tongshi group (revised total pelvic floor construction with Gynemesh). The pre-, peri-operative data and follow-up results were compared between the 3 groups. Results The body mass index, menopause age, pregnant times and the degrees of prolapses were comparable in the 3 groups (P>0. 05). The degrees of anterior and posterior vaginal proplase and uterus proplase were not significantly different between the 3 group (P>0. 05). The intro-operative blood loss, highest body temperature, residual urine, operation time, and hospital stay were not significantly different between the 3 groups (P>0. 05). The follow-up rate was 100% for the Prolift group, with a mean time of (5. 8 + 2. 0) months; one case developed erosion in the anterior vaginal wall and one had I stress urinary incontinence. The follow-up rate was 93.3% in the Gyenmesh group, with a mean time of (9. 1 + 2. 0) months; one case had chylous ascites after whole pelvis suspension and one had recurrent anterior vaginal proplase POP-Q Tl • The follow-up rate was 100% in the classical group, with a mean time of (9. 1 + 5. 0) months; anterior and posterior vaginal proplase POP-Q Tl were each found in one case. Conclusion Conventional repair, Prolift system and Gynemesh system are all safe and suitable for total pelvic floor reconstruction, and they have no difference concerning the short-term clinical outcomes and complications.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
Photosynthetic bacteria(PSB) showed great promise in biohydrogen production. Chromatium vinosum was able to utilize the fermentation waste of Klebsiella oxytoca for both photo-fermentative and dark-fermentative hydrogen production. The content of residual sugars and main organic acids decreased obviously after hydrogen production by C.vinosum. The maximal hydrogen production of C.vinosum was obtained at pH 6.5 adding extra 0.1%(W/W) NH_4Cl. Under photo-fermentative conditions, the content of butyric acid decreased by 54.38%, and the maximal hydrogen yield was 36.97 mL/mg cell. Under dark-fermentative conditions, the content of butyric acid decreased by 36.1% and the maximal hydrogen production was achieved as 37.50 mL/mg cell.
