Objective To explore the diagnosis,treatment and pathology of malignant brain tumor in children.Methods The clinical data of 61 children with malignant brain tumor were reviewed,including their age distribution,diagnosis,operation route(according to the position of the brain tumors),chemotherapy [using bischloro-nitrosourea(BCNU),teniposide(VM-26) and temozolomide]and radiotherapy (part and whole brain irradiation,three diamensions conformal therapy,gamma knife and X-kinfe).Results Of 61 cases,which including 37 boys and 24 girls whose mean age was 11.3 years,24 cases were supratentorial tumors and 37 cases were infratentorial.Forty-five tumors received total or subtotal recession,10 cases with major recession,and 6 cases with partial recession.After operation,39 cases (63.9%) received radiotherapy,and 29 cases (47.5%) with chemotherapy.Follow-up of 49 cases were achieved,in which 22 cases died and 27 cases survived.Conclusions Surgical removal is still the chief treatment for malignant brain tumor in children.The exairesis profect should be formulated according to the specificity of each case.Radiotherapy methods should be related to post-operational images(CT or MRI).And it was different from the brain tumors in adult.It is good to prolong survival duration for some chosen cases with optimal chemotherapy.

ObjectiveTo observe the expression of 67 - KD laminin receptor (67 - KD LN -R) in human laryngeal squamous carcinoma cells and to analyse the correlation between its expressionand clinicopathological characters. MethodsWe examined the expression of 67 - KD LN - R in 30primary laryngeal squamous carcinomas and in 3 cervical metastatic lymph nodes by the immunohistoche-mical SP method on paraffin- embedded sections. ResultsThe positive rate of 67 - KD LN - R inthe primary site of laryngeal squamous carcinomas was 56.7 % (17/30). The immunoreactivity in 3 cer-vical metastatic lymph nodes was consistent with that in primary tumors. There was a significant corre-lation between the level of 67 - KD LN - R and the degree of tumor differentiation, the level being high-er in poorly differentiated tumors ( P<0.05). The level of 67 - KD LN - R in laryngeal squamous car-cinomas with cervical lymph node metastases was higher than that in those without cervical lymph nodemetastases ( P <0.05).Conclusion67 - KD LN - R plays an important role in the differentiation,proliferation, invasiveness and metastasis of laryngeal squamous carcinoma.

Objective To evaluate the value of a CT ribs unfolding algorithm in the diagnosis of rib fracture. Methods Retrospective analysis of 180 patients who suffered chest trauma to do the chest or/and abdominal CT examination, and they also had the surgical or CT referral information. The images of these patients were postprocessed by software(Bone Reading software)and hand-drawn method(multi-point hand-painted CPR method). The rib fracture was observed and the time of reading was record. The diagnosis of fractures was confirmed by follow-up review or surgery. The fractures diagnosis sensitivity of the two post-treatment methods were measured, and the McNemar test was used to compare the difference between the software method and the hand-drawn method. Results Eight patients were excluded due to program failure, 172 cases were included in the study. Of the 172 patients, 63 patients suffered 259 fractures(178 ribs). The sensitivity of the software group was 91.7％(475/518), which was higher than that of the hand-painted group(86.3％, 447/518), the difference was statistically significant(P=0.005). The time of reading were (30.3 ± 3.3)and(173.2 ± 4.5)s, respectively, and the difference had statistically significant(P=0.001). Conclusion Compared to the traditional CPR method, the bone reading technique was used in patients with rib fractures during thoracic CT postprocessing can shorten the reading time and increase the sensitivity of the diagnosis.

Objective:To observe the temporal and spatial expression and function of mcpr1 gene during murine tooth germ development.Methods:The expression of MCPR1 at different stages of mouse tooth germ were detected by immunohistochemical staining.Results:MCPR1 expression was detected at all stages of tooth germ, but the distribution patterns at various stages were different. It indicated that the temporal and spatial expression pattern of MCPR1 during murine tooth germ development was specific.Conclusion:mcpr1 might play an important role in modulating the differentiation and mature of enamel organ.

Thanks to its high resolution, high automation and flexible integration, online two-dimensional liquid chromatography has great potential for screening active ingredients from complex matrices by integrating a highly specific bio-recognition process into a two-dimensional liquid chromatography system before, on or after the column separation. This review comprehensively summarized recent developments, applications and shortcomings of online two-dimensional liquid chromatography for natural product screening from different integration modes, including pre-column, on-column and post-column screening methods.

Objective To explore the effects of action observation therapy on upper-extremity motor function and ability in the activities of daily living after cerebral infarction.Methods Forty-one cerebral infarction survivors were randomly assigned to an observation group (n =21) or a control group (n =20).Both groups were given the conventional rehabilitation treatment,while the observation group additionally received action observation therapy 20 mins per day,6 times per week for 8 weeks.Before and after the 8 weeks of treatment,both groups were assessed using the Fugl-Meyer assessment (FMA),Wolf's motor function test (WMFT) and the modified Barthel index (MBI).Results Before the intervention there was no significant difference between the groups in any of the measurements.After the 8 weeks of treatment,all of the results in the treatment group were significantly better,on average,than those of the control group.Conclusions Action observation therapy can improve upper-extremity motor function and ability in the activities of daily living after stroke.
