1.Curative effects of microendoscopic discectomy for lumbar disc herniation
Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(12):-
Objective To analyze clinical effects of microendoscopic discectomy in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation with or without lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods A total of 216 patients were included in the study. The patient was maintained in the prone position on an arch-like bed.Under C-arm fluoroscopic guidance,a thin pin was inserted down to the facet of the target level.A longitudinal incision was made approximately 1.7 cm at the level of the disease to introduce a series of dilators, over which a working channel was then established.Once extraneous soft tissues were removed,a curette was used to puncture the ligamentum flavum. And the local ligamentum flavum and part of inferior border of the adjacent lamina were removed with a gun-shaped rongeur. The disc space was incised and a discectomy was performed. The lateral recess was cleared of any bone stenosis. Results conversions to open traditional discectomy were conducted in 2 patients because of bleeding. The 216 patients were followed for 3 months ~ 4 years with an average of 2.5 years.According to the Nakai criteria, excellent outcomes were achieved in 210 patients, good in 2 patients, fair in 1,and poor in 3,the rate of excellent or good outcomes being 98.1%(212/216).Of the 3 patients with poor outcomes,2 patients were given a re-operation of traditional surgery 3 months after the microendoscopic discectomy and 1 patient had a missed diagnosis of spinal tuberculosis. Conclusions Microendoscopic discectomy in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation gives little influence to spinal stability and satisfactory clinical effects.

Objective:This study was aimed to investigate the safety and feasibility of applying duodenal feeding tube in thoracoscopy-and laparcoscopy-guided esophagectomy for esophageal carcinoma. Methods:Clinical data of 73 esophageal carcinoma patients who underwent esophagectomy and received a duodenal feeding tube by thoracoscopy and laparoscopy from March 2011 to September 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. Modes of operation included the separation of the esophagus by thoracoscopy, separation of the stomach by laparoscopy, reconstruction of the digestive tract, and so on. Results:A duodenal feeding tube was carefully placed at the site of esopha-gectomy of the patient. Operation time lasted from 180 min to 410 min, with an average of 273 min. The duodenal feeding tube was placed at 27 min into the operation. Intra-operative blood loss ranged from 50 mL to 450 mL, with an average of 120 mL. No post-operative death was encountered among the cases. After surgery, anastomotic fistula and gastrointestinal discomfort occurred in 2 and 5 of the 73 cases, respectively. Conclusion:Placement of a duodenal feeding tube at the site of esophagectomy through thoracoscopy and laparoscopy is completely safe and feasible.

Objective To investigate the effect of triptolide on asthmatic airway remodeling and signal transducer and activator of transcription 6 (STAT6), acid neutrophil chemokines (eotaxin) impact. Methods The total of 30 mice with ovalbumin (OVA) model of asthma were randomly divided into three groups, control group, asthma group and triptolide group. After 24 hours of the last shot, lung tissue was stained Bronchial inflammatory cell infiltration was determined by using semi-quantitative method and calculate the proportion of goblet cells in airway epithelial cells. Hydroxyproline was determined by McMillan airway mucus score. The mRNA level and protein level of STAT6 and eotaxin in airway epithelium were determined by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. Results Compared with asthma group, peribronchial inflammatory cells infiltration of triptolide group were reduced, which mucus index is (1.31 ± 0.23) and hydroxyproline is (284 ± 13) μmg/100 mg. it had a significant in asthma group (P < 0.05). Besides, the protein level and mRNA level of STAT6 and eotaxin were significantly decreased (P < 0.05). Moreover, it was a positive correlation between STAT6 and eotaxin level in airway epithelial (r = 0.668, P < 0.05). Conclusion Triptolide can inhibit airway remodeling and might through the down regulation of STAT6 and eotaxin expression.

Objective To observe the change of serum TG in elderly diabetic patients after fatty meal. Methods The diabetic patients and non-diabetic patients of fasting normotriglyceridemia ate the fatty test meal after having been fasting for 12h.Serum lipid were measured at 0,2,4 and 6h after the meal. Results The serum TG level increased in the two groups after the meal, the diabetic patients had a higher TG-AUC than the non-diabetic patients (P

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2014;(5):676-678,679
Aim To study the preparation of α-cobro-toxin-loaded poly ( lactide-co-glycolide ) microspheres and their analgesic effect. Method The microspheres were prepared by modified water-in-oil-in-oil ( w/o/o ) emulsion solvent evaporation method. A tail flick assay was used to evaluate the analgesic activity of the micro-spheres after nasal administration. Result The micro-spheres with high entrapment efficiency ( >80%) and average diameter of about 25 μm could be prepared by modified water-in-oil-in-oil ( w/o/o ) emulsion solvent evaporation method. A tail flick assy showed the evi-dence for their analgesic effect. Conclusion When Chinese cobraneurotoxin is loaded into microsphere and then the microsphere is administered through nasal cav-ity, its analgesic effect is enhanced significantly.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of compound Qianglizhenxian pill on epilepsy. Methods 94 patients with epilepsy were treated with compound Qianglizhenxian pill, and every course lasted three months. After treatment, checking patients' electroencephalogram again, evaluating the clinical effect according to degrees and numbers of attack. Results After 12 months of treatment, 90.43% of patients got an obvious improvement, while 6.38% for better, 3.19% for validity and no invalid. Conclusions There is a great improvement for patients with epilepsy after taking the medicine. The effective control rate is 92.62% with no toxication on blood system, liver and kidney.

The aim of this paper is to apply Raman spectroscopy technique to develop rapid quantitative models for five kinds of Traditional Chinese Medicine containing CaCO3. In the experiment, Raman spectras of 67 batch of sample including Otolithum Sciaenae, Galaxeae Os, Ophicalcitum, Calcite, Stalactite and their mixture which had different content of CaCO3 were collected, and the quantitative models were established by using an improved siPLS to optimize the characteristic spectral bands and using the CaCO3 contents which were measured by EDTA titration method as references. Compared with the results by EDTA titration, the established quantitative model for CaCO, content showed a prediction result that the average relative deviation of the prediction results is 2. 71% and the average recovery rate was 100.46%, when the content is between 0.465 4-0.999 7, and when the characteristic spectral bands of 1 290-1 280, 730-714, 700-690, 660-650, 465-460, 455-445, 405-385 cm(-1) had been optimized. The result also showed that the model using Raman spectroscopy and based on an improved siPLS can get a rapid determination for contents of 5 kinds of Traditional Chinese Medicine containing CaCO3.
