Objective To study the gene expression of Wnt signal transduction pathway in experimental liver fibrosis and to investigate its role in liver fibrosis. Methods Liver fibrosis model was induced with carbon tetrachloride in 8 SD rats. Another 8 healthy rats were served as control. The gene expression in liver tissues of models and controls were examined using real time PCR array. The differential gene expression was identified as either up- or down-regulated 2-fold. The expressions of smooth muscle actin (SMA), Wnt4, Frizzled2 and β-catenin in the tissues were examined by immunohistochemistry and Western blot. Results The examination confirmed that 36 genes were differentially expressed, including 25 genes up-regulated and 11 genes down-regulated. Compared with the controls, the expressions of Wnt4, Wnt5 a and W nt11 were up-regulated more than 13.9-, 16.5-and 2.17-fold respectively, while the expressions of Wntl and Wnt3 were down-regulated more than 2.32- and 2.15-fold respectively in fibrotic liver. Immunohistochemistry and Western blot showed that the expressions of SMA, Wnt4 and Frizzled2 in fibrotic liver were remarkably higher than those in normal controls. While the level of phosphorylated β-catenin was decreased. Conclusion Both canonical and noncanonical Wnt signal transduction pathway may involve in the mechanism of liver fibrogenesis.

Objective To observe protective and repairing effect of Aorui Gel on esophageal mucosa injury in reflux esophagitis rats. Methods Rat models of reflux esophagitis were established by partial pylori ligation plus cardiomyotomy. Model control group,low-,middle-and high-dose Aorui Gel groups, positive control group, excipient control group and sham operation group were set up. Rats were treated with the corresponding drugs 7 days after operation. After treatment for 14 days, the rats'general state, and macroscopic features and pathological features of esophageal mucosa were compared. Results Macroscopic features and pathological features of esophageal mucosa in Aorui Gel groups differed from those in the model control group, inflammation of esophageal mucosa in Aorui Gel groups was alleviated, and pathological features were relieved and arrived to the normal state. Conclusion Aorui Gel can alleviate esophageal mucosa injury in reflux esophagitis rats, indicating that Aorui Gel has protective and repairing effect on esophageal mucosa injury.

Objective To explore the association of Toll-like receptor 4 TLR4 and lipopolysaccharide receptor CD14 gene polymorphisms with Kawasaki disease (KD) susceptibility. Methods Three-color fluorescent staining flow-cytometry was used to detect the expression of TLR4 in peripheral blood white blood cell of 76 KD children and 118 healthy control group. The gene of TLR4 (-896A/G), (-1196C/T) and CD14 (-260C/T) polymorphisms was identified by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms; and the relationship between genotype and KD was analyzed. Results 1.The values of mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of TLR4 in peripheral blood white blood cell of the KD groups and the healthy control groups were 2.87?0.96, 10.55?4.87, 23.36?8.28 and 3.26?0.65, 7.55?1.21, 25.41?6.97, respectively; There was a gradual increase of these values on lymphocyte, neutrophilic leukocyte and mononuclear cell in both groups.2.(-896A/G), (-1196C/T) polymorphisms of TLR4 gene were not found in both groups.3.The frequency of each genotype of CD14 gene (-260C/T) was 35.5%CC, 30.3%CT, 34.2%TT in KD group and 38.1%CC, 47.5%CT, 14.4%TT in healthy control group. The frequency of each genotype was significantly different in 2 groups(?2=11.62 P

Objective To develop and apply the Oncomelania snail Information Management System based on GIS. Methods With calculating the path by some GPS points and snail information database, the visualized snail information profiles were drawn automatically. Results The Positioning Oncomelania snail Information Management System has been developed and running in Changsha, and it made snail information standardized, visualized and digital, not only supplied many precise queries, but also formed a link of snail information based on years. Conclusions The positioning Oncomelania snail Information Management System based on GIS raises the efficiency of information management and the veracity of information, it makes the snail information more integrated and systemic, which provides the basis for developing the Oncomelania snail Information Management System of Hunan Province.
