Objective To evaluate the possibility of no-beparin open operation at low costal arch in live donor nephrectomy via retroperitoneal approach. Methods The effects of 134 cases no-beparin operation and 82 eases heparinized operation at low costal arch in live donor nephrectomy via retroperitoneal approach during 2003.5 to 2008.5 in our hospital were retrospective analyzed. Results The kidneys of the donors in two groups were successfully harvested. The operation time varied from 110 rain to 200 rnin, and warm isebemia time varied from lOs to 20s. Delayed graft function (DGF) was oceurred in one ease in each group. There was no signifieant difference in live donor nephreetomy between the two groups(P >0. 05), but the no-beparin group had less bleeding. Conclusion The no-beparin open operation at low eostal arch in live donor nephrectomy via retroperitoneal approach is technieal]y feasible and safe, and has less bleeding, and little influence on the allograft.

To demonstrate the current strategies for treating cartilage defects of knees and the related research. Published papers about cartilage defects were searched and reviewed. The current strategies for the treatment were summarized. Based on the research of our study and others, the conclusion how to treat cartilage defects was made. The current ways for treating cartilage defects include micro-fractures, chondrocytes transplantation, mosaicplasty and tissue engineering; Research on functional magnetic resonance imaging in the early diagnosis of cartilage defects, cartilage degeneration is gradually increasing. There is still no effective treatment of cartilage defects and tissue engineering has brought new hopes for the treatment of cartilage defects , functional magnetic resonance imaging has some significance in early diagnosis of cartilage defects, cartilage degeneration.

Objective To investigate the feasibility and safety of transvaginal endoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods The clinical data of 88 female patients who underwent cholecystectomy at the Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from May to November, 2009 were retrospectively analysed. Among all the patients, 32 received transvaginal endoscopic cholecystectomy ( NOTES group) and the remaining 56 patients received laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Thirty-two patients who received LC at the same period were selected (LC group)acccording to age, body mass index, type and severity of disease to conduct a matched case-control study. The differences in time span of postoperative pain, anodyne dose, enterokinesia recovery time, operation time, out-ofbed activity time, average hospital stay and hospitalization expenses between the two groups were compared using the paired t test. Results Cholecystectomies were successfully carried out for all the patients. The intraoperative blood loss, operation time, degree of pain, anodyne doses, enterokinesia recovery time, out-of-bed activity time, average hospital stay and hospitalization expenses were (5.7 ± 1.5 ) ml, ( 76 ± 27 ) minutes, 2.2 ± 0.6, ( 10 ±6) mg, (25±5) hours, (9±3) hours, (2.1 ±1.2) days and (1.12±0.34) ×104 yuan in NOTES group, and they were ( 13.9 ± 3.1 ) ml, (38 ± 16) minutes, 6.7 ± 1.5, (28 ± 8) mg, (45 ± 8) hours, (26 ± 6) hours,(4.3 ± 2.1 ) days and ( 1.54 ± 0.18 ) × 104 yuan in the LC group. There were significant differences between the two groups (t = 5.098, - 4.712, 2.417, 3.203, 3.089, 4.136, 4.786, 3.917, P < 0.05 ). Conclusion Transvaginal endoscopic cholecystectomy is safe and feasible, and it is superior to tranditional LC.

Objective To evaluate the effect of military performance stress on the changes of concentrations in salivary chromogranin A ( CgA) ,β-endorphin (β-EP) and salivary IgA ( sIgA) of submariners. Methods Twenty-nine submarine soldiers were selected, and their saliva samples were collected separately at the end of a long dive trip and nine months after relaxation ashore. In addition, the saliva samples of twenty-eight graduate students were collected as the normal control. The method of ELISA was used to detect the level of salivary CgA,β-EP and sIgA.Results After long-term dive training, the submariners showed significantly decreased CgA,β-EP and sIgA.Conclusion After a long term dive trip, chronic military performance stress is associated with the decline of salivary CgA,β-EP and sIgA, indicating that the function of sympathet-ic adrenal medulla is suppressed. The biological significance of these changes needs to be assessed in the future.

Objective To explore the effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (HUC?MSCs) on podocytic apoptosis and injury induced by high glucose (HG) and the underlying mechanisms. Methods Podocytes were divided into six groups according to treatment: ⑴ normal glucose group (NG);⑵high glucose group (HG);⑶mannitol control group (NG+Ma);⑷HUC?MSC co?culture group (HUC?MSCs); ⑸ recombinant human hepatocyte growth factor treatment group (rhHGF);⑹ neutralizing antibody group(HGF?NtAb). Cytometry and Hoechst staining were used to detect the apoptosis rates. Western blot was used to measure the ratio of active PARP to total PARP and the level of Bcl?2. Immunofluorescence was used to study podocytic apoptosis and injury. Neutralizing antibody (NtAb) was used to block its function and the recombinant cytokine was added to induce its function. Results High glucose induced podocytic apoptosis in a time?dependent manner, HUC?MSCs co?culture decreased the podocytic apoptosis rate and the expression of PARP (all P﹤0.05), increased the expression of Bcl?2, prevented the reduced expression and maintained the normal arrangement of podocytic podoplanin. The rhHGF prevented podocytic apoptosis and injury similarly to HUC?MSCs, the beneficial effect of HUC?MSC decreased when blockade of HGF. Conclusions HUC?MSCs co?culture ameliorates podocytic apoptosis and injure induced by HG, probably through secreting soluble HGF.

Objective To investigate the significance of salivary cortisol , dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) and cortisol/DHEA-S ratio changes for evaluation of military performance stress .Methods Forty submarine soldiers were selected, whose saliva samples were collected separately at the end of long-term dive training and after nine months of relaxation break. In addition, the saliva samples of thirty-four graduate students were collected the moment they finished a three-hour final examination and one week later .The method of ELISA was used to detect the levels of salivary cortisol and DHEA-S and to count their ratio .Results After long-term dive training , the submarine soldiers showed significantly decreased DHEA-S and an increased cortisol/DHEA-S ratio, but the cortisol level did not change very much .In contrast, the final examination stress did not change the level of cortisol , DHEA-S or the cortisol/DHEA-S ratio among these students. Conclusion This is the first study to show that long-term, chronic military performance stress is associated with the salivary DHEA-S and cortisol/DHEA-S ratio changes .The increase in the cortisol/DHEA-S ratio may be used as an important and useful biomarker to evaluate chronic stress .In addition , it is relatively simple and sensitive to detect stress biomarkers by using saliva samples .

Objective To investigate the change of oxidation system and antioxidation system in mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis(MsPGN) induced by anti-Thy1.1 antibody, and further to study the intervention of rosmarinic acid(RAD).Methods Anti-THy1.1 serum was produced, and then intravenously injected into rats for establishing an experimental model of MsPGN.The experiment was designed for control with or without RAD,glomerulonephritis with or without RAD,respectively. The activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and the content of malondialdehyde(MDA) in tissue homogenate were detected by spectrophotomerty. Results The activity of SOD significantly decreased, while the content of MDA increased in MsPGN.RAD could inhibit oxidation in the mesangial cells. Conclusion Lipid peroxidation participates in MsPGN and RAD can control the changes of the mesangial cells and show the activity of antioxidation.
